## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Tech Stack Detector — CMS, Frameworks, Analytics & More

Find out what any website is built with: CMS, e-commerce platform, JavaScript frameworks, analytics and ad tags, tag managers, CDN, hosting, security headers, payment and more — with versions where the site shows them. Paste as many websites as you like.

**Why this one**

- 🔍 **Thousands of technologies.** The open Wappalyzer fingerprint set: Shopify, WordPress, Wix, Squarespace, React, Next.js, Vercel, Cloudflare, Google Tag Manager, HubSpot, Stripe and thousands more.
- ⚡ **Fast and cheap to run.** One page load per site, no browser: 13 websites in 10 seconds in a live test run.
- 🗂️ **Grouped for you.** Every result has a `byCategory` summary — CMS, Ecommerce, Analytics, CDN, JavaScript frameworks… — next to the full list.
- 🧾 **Honest results.** A site that blocks the check, does not exist or is not a website address comes back as a free record with the reason.
- 💸 **You pay only per website checked.**

### What you get

For every website:

| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `url`, `finalUrl`, `httpStatus` | the site and where it ended up |
| `technologies` | every technology found: `name`, `version`, `confidence`, `categories`, `website` |
| `byCategory` | the same, grouped: `{ "CMS": ["WordPress"], "Analytics": [...] }` |
| `technologyCount` | how many were found |
| `input`, `checkedAt`, `status`, `error` | what you gave, when, and why a site gave nothing |

#### Example

A real record from a live run, 24 September 2026 (list shortened):

```json
{
  "url": "https://vercel.com/",
  "httpStatus": 200,
  "technologyCount": 8,
  "technologies": [
    { "name": "Next.js", "version": null, "confidence": 100, "categories": ["JavaScript frameworks", "Web frameworks", "Web servers", "Static site generator"], "website": "https://nextjs.org" },
    { "name": "Vercel", "version": null, "confidence": 100, "categories": ["PaaS"], "website": "https://vercel.com" }
  ],
  "byCategory": { "JavaScript frameworks": ["React", "Next.js"], "PaaS": ["Amazon Web Services", "Vercel"] },
  "status": "OK"
}
```

### How to use it

1. Add **Websites**, one per line.
2. Press **Start**, and download the results from the **Output** tab as JSON, CSV or Excel.

Use it to qualify leads by platform, map competitors' stacks, or find every store on a platform in your list. You can also call it from the Apify API, Make, Zapier or n8n, or from an AI agent through the Apify MCP server.

### Pricing

You are charged **per website checked** — see the price on this page. Sites that block the check, do not exist or are not website addresses are free.

### FAQ

**Why might a technology be missing?** The check reads the page as it is served — HTML, scripts, headers and cookies — without running it in a browser. Technologies that only appear after the page's JavaScript runs can be missed.

**A site came back as `BLOCKED`.** It turned the request away (HTTP 403 and the like), as some large sites do with any automated visit.

**Like it?** A short review on the Store page helps other people find this Actor. Something missing or broken? Tell us on the Issues tab — we read every one.

# Actor input Schema

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many websites to check at the same time.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Used only when a website turns a request down: the first try goes out directly.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "urls": [
    "https://www.allbirds.com",
    "https://wordpress.org/news/"
  ],
  "maxConcurrency": 10,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Every result as a JSON record, with a status for each input.

## `resultsCsv` (type: `string`):

The same records as CSV, for a spreadsheet.
