## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Yahoo Finance Scraper — Stock Quotes, History & Fundamentals

Get Yahoo Finance data for any symbol — stocks on any exchange, ETFs, crypto, currencies, futures and indexes: price, change, volume, market cap, P/E, EPS, dividends, 52-week range and more. Switch on price history for daily, weekly or intraday prices with dividends and splits, and company data for sector, revenue, margins, cash, debt and analyst targets.

**Why this one**

- ⚡ **Fast.** Quotes come 50 symbols to a request. A live test run of 12 symbols — with company data and five years of weekly prices each — took 3.3 seconds.
- 🌍 **Every market Yahoo covers.** Tested on US, UK (VOD.L), German (SAP.DE) and Japanese (7203.T) stocks, an ETF, Bitcoin and Ether, EUR/USD, the S\&P 500 and gold futures.
- 📈 **History with corporate actions.** Open, high, low, close, adjusted close and volume, plus dividends and splits, for any period and interval.
- 🏢 **Company data, not noise.** Sector, industry, employees, business summary, revenue, margins, cash, debt, returns and analyst targets — only for companies; crypto, currencies and indexes say so instead of returning empty fields.
- 💸 **You pay only per symbol delivered.** Unknown symbols come back as free records with the reason.

### What you get

For every symbol:

| Field | What it is |
|---|---|
| `symbol`, `name`, `quoteType`, `exchange`, `currency`, `marketState` | what it is and where it trades |
| `price`, `change`, `changePercent`, `previousClose`, `open`, `dayLow`, `dayHigh`, `volume`, `bid`, `ask`, `marketTime` | the quote |
| `fiftyTwoWeekLow`, `fiftyTwoWeekHigh`, `fiftyDayAverage`, `twoHundredDayAverage`, `averageVolume3Month` | ranges and averages |
| `marketCap`, `sharesOutstanding`, `trailingPE`, `forwardPE`, `epsTrailingTwelveMonths`, `epsForward`, `priceToBook`, `bookValue` | valuation |
| `dividendRate`, `dividendYield`, `dividendDate`, `earningsDate`, `analystRating` | dividends, earnings, analysts |
| `profile`, `financials`, `keyStatistics` | with **Company data** on: sector, industry, website, city, country, employees, summary; revenue, growth, margins, EBITDA, cash, debt, free cash flow, ROE, analyst targets and recommendation; enterprise value, beta, PEG, holdings, short interest |
| `history` | with **Price history** on: `points` (date, open, high, low, close, adjClose, volume), `dividends`, `splits` |
| `input`, `scrapedAt`, `status`, `error` | what you typed, when it was read, and why a symbol gave nothing |

### How to use it

1. Add **Symbols**, one per line, as Yahoo Finance writes them: `AAPL`, `VOD.L`, `SAP.DE`, `7203.T`, `SPY`, `BTC-USD`, `EURUSD=X`, `GC=F`, `^GSPC`.
2. Switch on **Company data** and/or **Price history**, and pick the period and interval.
3. Press **Start**, and download the results from the **Output** tab as JSON, CSV or Excel.

For a daily watchlist, save your input as a task and schedule it after the market closes.

You can also call it from the Apify API, from Make, Zapier or n8n, or from an AI agent through the Apify MCP server.

### Pricing

You are charged **per symbol delivered** — see the price on this page — whether or not you add company data and history. Unknown symbols are free.

### FAQ

**Are the prices real-time?** They are what Yahoo Finance shows: real-time for many US stocks and crypto, delayed for some exchanges — `exchangeDelayMinutes` says by how much.

**Why no company data for Bitcoin or the S\&P 500?** They are not companies. The record says so in `fundamentalsUnavailable`.

**Is this affiliated with Yahoo?** No. This is an independent tool that reads public Yahoo Finance data. It is not investment advice.

**Like it?** A short review on the Store page helps other people find this Actor. Something missing or broken? Tell us on the Issues tab — we read every one.
