## Pricing

from $2.40 / 1,000 mentions

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Reddit Keyword Monitor: Brand Mentions & Alerts

Watch Reddit for **your brand, product, competitors or any keyword**. Each run returns only the **new posts that mention it**, with the matched keyword, **where it matched** (title or text), a **snippet** around the mention, score, comments count, subreddit and link. Schedule it daily and send the results to Slack, email or a spreadsheet. No login, no API key.

### What you can use it for

- **Brand monitoring:** catch every new post about your company or product.
- **Competitor tracking:** see when people discuss a competitor, and why.
- **Lead generation:** find people asking for a tool or service you sell.
- **PR and support:** react quickly to complaints and questions.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| Keywords to watch | Brands, products or phrases, one per line. |
| Only in these subreddits | Leave empty to watch all of Reddit. |
| Exclude posts with these words | e.g. jobs, hiring, or a namesake. |
| Match multi-word keywords as an exact phrase | "electric scooter" as a phrase. |
| Max new posts per keyword | Per keyword (and subreddit). |
| Include full post text | Opens each post for the full text and snippet. |
| Only exact mentions | Drops loosely related search results (not charged). |
| Look back | How far back the first run looks. |
| Only posts not returned before | On by default: later runs return only new posts. |
| Monitor name | Separate memory for each monitor. |

```json
{
  "keywords": ["chatgpt", "claude code"],
  "excludeWords": ["hiring"],
  "maxPostsPerSource": 50
}
```

### Output

One row per new mention (real output, October 2026; text shortened):

```json
{
  "keyword": "chatgpt",
  "matchedIn": "text",
  "snippet": "...x AI, and Anthropic Claude, plus any OpenAI-compatible endpoint, including self-hosted models. Account sign-in : use a ChatGPT (Codex), Grok or Kimi Code account directly. Kelivo syncs the available models and shows your usage limits...",
  "title": "Kelivo: An open-source LLM client for mobile and desktop (4.3k stars)",
  "subreddit": "BestGitHubRepos",
  "author": "company_url_finder",
  "score": 1,
  "commentsCount": 0,
  "createdAt": "2026-10-20T11:16:22.260Z",
  "flair": "🤖 AI repositories",
  "url": "https://www.reddit.com/r/BestGitHubRepos/comments/1xape2i/kelivo_an_opensource_llm_client_for_mobile_and/"
}
```

### How monitoring works

The first run returns recent posts (up to your limit) as a starting point. After that, every run returns only posts it has not returned before, and with the newest-first order it stops as soon as it reaches a post it already knows. Schedule it in Apify Console (Schedules) and connect an integration (Slack, email, Google Sheets, webhook, Make, n8n or Zapier) to get alerts.

### Pricing

**$3 per 1,000 mentions** on paid Apify plans, less on Scale and Business. Runs with no new mentions cost almost nothing, and skipped loosely related posts are not charged.

### Tips

- Use one keyword per line; add common misspellings as extra keywords.
- Need comments or bulk exports? Use our Reddit Scraper or Reddit Comments Scraper.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Your brand, product, competitors or any phrase. One per line.

## `subreddits` (type: `array`):

Leave empty to watch all of Reddit.

## `excludeWords` (type: `array`):

For example jobs, hiring, or a namesake you are not interested in.

## `exactPhrase` (type: `boolean`):

"electric scooter" instead of posts that mention electric and scooter separately.

## `maxPostsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Per keyword (and per subreddit, if you listed any).

## `includeFullText` (type: `boolean`):

Opens each new post for its full text and a snippet around the keyword. Off is faster and returns titles only.

## `strictMatch` (type: `boolean`):

Reddit search also returns loosely related posts. On keeps only posts whose title or text really contains the keyword (others are skipped and not charged). Works best with full text on.

## `timeFilter` (type: `string`):

How far back the first run looks. Later runs return only posts not returned before.

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Remembers posts from earlier runs and returns only posts it has not returned before. Schedule it daily for brand, competitor or keyword alerts.

## `monitorName` (type: `string`):

Runs with the same name share one memory of posts already returned. Use different names for separate monitors.

## `postedAfter` (type: `string`):

Skip posts older than this date, e.g. 2026-10-01.

## `includeNsfw` (type: `boolean`):

Off skips posts Reddit marks as NSFW.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Reddit blocks data-center IPs, so residential proxies are used by default.
