## Pricing

from $0.01 / favicon pack generated

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Favicon Generator — Full Icon Pack from One Image

**Turn one logo into a complete favicon and app-icon pack.** Give it a single square image and get back `favicon.ico`, every PNG size, the Apple touch icon, PWA manifest icons and the ready-to-paste HTML `<head>` snippet — everything a modern website needs, in one run.

### What it does

- Generates **favicon.ico** (16/32/48 multi-size) plus PNGs at every common size (16→512).
- Adds the **Apple touch icon** (180×180) and **PWA `site.webmanifest`** icons.
- Outputs a copy-paste **HTML `<head>` snippet**.
- Optional background fill for transparent/non-square logos.

### Use cases

- **Web developers** — get a full cross-device favicon set from one logo in seconds.
- **Agencies** — generate favicon packs for many client sites at scale.
- **PWA / mobile web** — produce the manifest icons and Apple touch icon in one go.

### Input

```json
{ "imageUrl": "https://example.com/logo.png", "pngSizes": [16,32,48,180,192,512], "background": "transparent" }
```

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `imageUrl` | string | Square source logo (PNG/JPG/SVG/WebP), 512×512+ recommended. |
| `pngSizes` | array | PNG sizes to generate. |
| `background` | string | `transparent` or a hex color. |

### Output

Each generated file is one dataset row, and all files are saved to your key-value store.

```json
{ "type": "png", "size": 512, "url": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/.../records/favicon-512x512.png" }
```

#### Output schema

| Field | Type | Description |
|---|---|---|
| `type` | string | `png`, `ico`, `apple-touch-icon`, `html-snippet`. |
| `size` | integer | Icon size in pixels (where applicable). |
| `url` | string (URL) | Link to the generated file. |

### FAQ

**What do I paste into my site?** The `head.html` snippet row contains the exact `<link>` tags; upload the files to your site root.

**Can I automate it?** Yes — via [integrations on the Apify platform](https://apify.com/integrations) and the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2).

### Notes

Original clean-room implementation.

# Actor input Schema

## `imageUrl` (type: `string`):

A square logo/image (PNG, JPG, SVG, WebP) to turn into a favicon pack. 512×512 or larger works best.

## `pngSizes` (type: `array`):

Which square PNG sizes to generate.

## `background` (type: `string`):

"transparent" or a hex color to fill behind non-square/transparent logos.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "imageUrl": "https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/24586296?s=512",
  "pngSizes": [
    16,
    32,
    48,
    64,
    96,
    128,
    180,
    192,
    256,
    512
  ],
  "background": "transparent"
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

The results as dataset items.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "imageUrl": "https://avatars.githubusercontent.com/u/24586296?s=512"
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("hipersoft/favicon-generator").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
