# ATS Detector: Find a Company's Job Board (Free) (`hirepulse/ats-detector`) Actor

Free. Accepts company domains and detects their applicant tracking system: Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, Recruitee or SmartRecruiters. Returns ats, board_url and open_jobs, one row per domain. Use this when you need to know where a company posts jobs. Do NOT use for the job list itself.

## Pricing

Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

### MCP & Autonomous Agent Usage (x402 & Apify MCP)

Input example for this Actor:

```json
{
  "domains": [
    "stripe.com",
    "linear.app",
    "ramp.com"
  ]
}
```

Use https://mcp.apify.com with this Actor selected, or call the Apify API. For autonomous agents paying directly in USDC via x402 without an Apify account, use our low-latency gateway at https://gethirepulse.xyz

Gateway capabilities and prices differ from this Actor; inspect https://gethirepulse.xyz/v1/catalog. Runtime depends on the target; no fixed sub-three-second guarantee is made.

## ATS Detector: Which Job Board Does a Company Use? (Free)

**Give it company domains, get the applicant tracking system (ATS) each company uses.** One short row per domain: the system, the public job board URL and how many jobs are open right now.

Supported systems: **Greenhouse · Lever · Ashby · Workable · Recruitee · SmartRecruiters**.

This Actor is free: there is no charge per result. You only use your own Apify platform credit, a fraction of a cent per run.

### Input

```json
{ "domains": ["stripe.com", "linear.app", "ramp.com"] }
```

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `domains` | Company websites, up to 100 per run. Full URLs are fine. A board slug such as `stripe` works too. |

### Output (one row per domain)

```json
{
  "domain": "linear.app",
  "status": "found",
  "ats": "ashby",
  "board_slug": "linear",
  "board_url": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/linear",
  "open_jobs": 31,
  "note": null,
  "checked_at": "2026-10-16T12:00:00+00:00"
}
```

| `status` | Meaning |
| --- | --- |
| `found` | A job board with open jobs was found on one of the supported systems. |
| `possible_match` | A board exists but has no open jobs, so it may belong to a different company with the same name. |
| `not_found` | None was found. The company may use Workday, another system or its own careers site. |
| `error` | Some job boards could not be reached. Try again later. |
| `invalid_input` | The value is not a domain or slug. |

A small run summary is saved to the key-value store under `OUTPUT`. It also lists `related_tools`: other HirePulse tools that add data for the same input.

### How it works

The Actor checks the company name against the public job-board APIs of the six systems, then looks for a link on the company's `/careers` or `/jobs` page. No browser and no proxy. When several boards match, the one with the most open jobs wins.

### Need the jobs themselves?

[ATS Job Scraper](https://apify.com/hirepulse/ats-job-pulse) returns every open job of these companies (title, department, location, salary, apply link) and flags jobs that are NEW or CLOSED since the last run.

### Limitations

- Workday, iCIMS, Taleo and in-house career sites are not detected.
- A bare name can match a different company with the same name on another system. Use the company's domain for the best result.

# Actor input Schema

## `domains` (type: `array`):

Required. Company websites, one per item, up to 100 per run. Full URLs are fine too. Example: \["stripe.com", "linear.app"]. You can also pass a board slug, such as "stripe".

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "domains": [
    "stripe.com",
    "linear.app",
    "ramp.com"
  ]
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

Dataset items: one row per domain.

## `runSummary` (type: `string`):

Counts of found, not found and errors. Also lists related_tools: other HirePulse tools that add data for the same input.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "domains": [
        "stripe.com",
        "linear.app",
        "ramp.com"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("hirepulse/ats-detector").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
