## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## AI Supplier Finder

Find and rank potential suppliers using public supplier and marketplace data.

AI Supplier Finder is designed for sourcing teams, procurement research, e-commerce sellers, importers, researchers, automated workflows, and AI agents that need to discover potential manufacturers and suppliers without manually searching through marketplace listings.

The Actor searches public supplier listings, collects available sourcing information, removes duplicate suppliers, evaluates supplier signals, and returns a ranked list of potential sourcing opportunities.

### What it does

Provide a product or sourcing keyword and AI Supplier Finder will:

- Search public supplier marketplace data
- Discover potential manufacturers and factories
- Collect available supplier information
- Extract available pricing ranges
- Extract minimum order quantities (MOQ)
- Identify supplier and factory signals
- Analyze public verification and membership signals
- Calculate an Opportunity Score
- Calculate a Trust Score
- Assign a public-data Risk level
- Remove duplicate suppliers
- Rank the strongest supplier opportunities
- Return structured data ready for APIs, automation, and AI agents

### Example

Input:

- Product: `Stainless steel water bottle`
- Supplier country: `China`
- Buyer country: `Germany`
- Supplier type: `Manufacturer`
- Number of suppliers: `20`

The Actor searches supplier listings and returns ranked supplier opportunities with fields such as:

- Supplier
- Opportunity Score
- Trust Score
- Risk
- Supplier Type
- Country
- Price
- MOQ
- Website
- Source
- Supplier URL

### Input

#### Product or sourcing keyword

The product, component, material, or sourcing keyword you want to find suppliers for.

Examples:

- Stainless steel water bottle
- LED lighting
- Packaging boxes
- CNC parts
- Kitchen utensils
- Electronic components

#### Supplier country

The sourcing market where suppliers should be discovered.

The current verified marketplace source is optimized for suppliers in China.

#### Buyer country

The destination or target market of the buyer.

This field provides sourcing context. It does not currently calculate shipping costs, customs duties, taxes, or import eligibility.

#### Supplier type

Choose the preferred supplier type, such as:

- Manufacturer
- Factory
- Wholesaler
- Distributor
- Any

Manufacturer searches prioritize manufacturer/factory signals available in the public marketplace data.

#### Number of suppliers

Maximum number of ranked supplier opportunities to return.

Supported range: `1–100`.

The actual number returned may be lower when there are not enough unique relevant suppliers.

### Output

Each supplier opportunity can include:

- `supplier` — supplier or company name
- `opportunityScore` — heuristic sourcing opportunity score
- `trustScore` — heuristic score based on available public supplier signals
- `risk` — Low, Moderate, or High public-data risk indicator
- `supplierType` — available supplier/business type
- `country` — supplier country
- `rating` — rating when available
- `reviews` — review count when available
- `price` — publicly listed price or price range when available
- `moq` — publicly listed minimum order quantity when available
- `website` — supplier profile or website when available
- `contact` — public business contact information when available
- `opportunityReasons` — signals contributing to the opportunity ranking
- `trustSignals` — positive public supplier signals
- `riskSignals` — missing or weaker public supplier signals
- `source` — public data source
- `url` — supplier or product URL

### Opportunity Score

Opportunity Score is a heuristic ranking designed to help compare potential suppliers.

It can consider signals such as:

- Manufacturer or factory status
- Supplier verification signals
- Marketplace membership signals
- Available certifications
- MOQ flexibility
- Pricing availability
- Sample availability
- Trust signals

A higher score means the supplier matched more of the signals used by the ranking model.

It does not guarantee product quality, profitability, delivery performance, or supplier reliability.

### Trust Score

Trust Score summarizes available public supplier signals.

Depending on available source data, signals can include:

- Audited supplier status
- Marketplace membership
- Manufacturer/factory status
- Certification signals
- Supplier location information
- Public supplier profile availability

Trust Score is a research aid and is not a definitive verification of a company.

### Risk

Risk is derived from the public signals available to the Actor.

Possible values:

- `Low`
- `Moderate`
- `High`

A risk label does not mean that a supplier is legitimate, fraudulent, safe, or unsafe.

Users should independently verify suppliers before sending payments, signing contracts, ordering inventory, or sharing sensitive information.

### Data sources

AI Supplier Finder uses publicly available supplier and marketplace information.

The current supplier discovery implementation uses public Made-in-China.com marketplace data through an Apify data source.

Data availability can vary between suppliers and searches. Some fields may therefore be empty.

### Use cases

AI Supplier Finder can be used for:

- Product sourcing
- Manufacturer discovery
- Procurement research
- Supplier shortlisting
- E-commerce sourcing
- Import/export research
- Marketplace research
- B2B sourcing workflows
- Automated procurement pipelines
- AI agent sourcing workflows

### Built for automation and AI agents

The Actor returns structured dataset results that can be consumed by:

- AI agents
- Apify API
- Apify Tasks
- Webhooks
- Automation platforms
- Internal sourcing tools
- Procurement workflows
- Data pipelines

This makes it possible to build workflows such as:

**Find product → Find suppliers → Rank suppliers → Verify candidates → Contact shortlisted suppliers**

### Important limitations

AI Supplier Finder is a research and discovery tool.

Public marketplace information can be incomplete, outdated, incorrect, or supplied by third parties.

The Actor does not independently inspect factories, verify legal entities, guarantee certifications, verify inventory, confirm prices, calculate landed cost, guarantee shipping availability, or guarantee supplier performance.

Always perform independent due diligence before entering into a commercial relationship or making payments.

### Responsible use

Use the Actor only for lawful sourcing, procurement, research, and business purposes.

Do not use the results for spam, harassment, unauthorized personal-data collection, or attempts to bypass marketplace access controls.

***

AI Supplier Finder helps turn public supplier listings into structured, ranked sourcing opportunities for humans, automated workflows, and AI agents.
