## Pricing

from $0.75 / 1,000 comments

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Facebook Comments Scraper - Reaction Breakdown

Collect the comments (and optionally the replies) of any public Facebook post, video, reel or photo. Every comment comes with the **full reaction breakdown** (like, love, care, haha, wow, sad, angry) and its **detected language**, ready for sentiment analysis, community moderation, ad-creative feedback or AI datasets.

- Paste post links and get clean, flat JSON, CSV or Excel
- Up to 1,000 posts per run, with replies optional (new posts are collected at roughly 150 an hour, so large batches of new posts take several hours)
- Sort by most relevant, newest or all comments
- No Facebook login, no cookies and no proxies to manage

### What you get

```
Replies have `"type": "reply"` and `parentId` set to the comment they answer. Commenter profile photos are not included.
### How to use it
1. Add one or more post URLs. Supported formats include `/posts/…`, `/videos/…`, `/reel/…`, `permalink.php?story_fbid=…`, `photo.php?fbid=…` and `watch/?v=…`. Share links (`/share/…`, fb.watch) are opened when Facebook allows it; if one is skipped, open the post and copy its full address.
2. Set **Max comments per post**. Up to 24 is the fastest.
3. Run it. Comments we collected recently arrive instantly. New posts usually take about a minute each with up to 24 comments (bigger limits take longer), and up to 3 posts are processed in parallel. For large batches of new posts, check that the run's **Timeout** in the run options leaves enough time.
Calling it from an AI agent or with a short timeout? Start the run asynchronously and fetch the dataset when it finishes, or turn on **Previously collected data only** for an instant answer.
### Pricing
Pay only for what you get:
| | Free | Starter | Scale | Business |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Per 1,000 comments | $1.25 | $1.05 | $0.90 | $0.75 |
| Per post processed | $0.005 | $0.005 | $0.005 | $0.005 |
The per-post fee is charged once for every post we collect successfully, even when it has no comments. Posts that are private or deleted are not charged.
**Example:** 10,000 comments from 200 posts on the Starter plan cost 10,000 × $0.00105 + 200 × $0.005 = **$11.50**.
Use **Maximum cost per run** in the run options to cap your spend. The Actor stops cleanly at that limit.
**Free plan:** you get previously collected comments plus a small live allowance each day (about 5 posts). Any paid Apify plan removes the limit.
### FAQ
**Is scraping Facebook comments legal?** This Actor collects publicly visible comments only. Personal data is protected by laws such as GDPR, so only collect what you have a legitimate reason to process, and consult your lawyer if unsure.
**How fresh is the data?** The input form starts with **Reuse data collected within** at 720 hours (30 days), so comments we collected in the last 30 days come back instantly and other posts are collected live. Lower it (for example to 6) for fresher comments, or set it to 0 to always collect live. API calls that leave the field out use 6 hours. If a post cannot be collected live right now (for example because the free plan's daily allowance is used up), you get any comments we collected before, with a note in `OUTPUT`. With 0, such posts are only reported in `OUTPUT`.
**Can I use it via API, Make, Zapier or n8n?** Yes. Use the Apify API or any Apify integration. Each run's results are in its default dataset, and when the run finishes, `OUTPUT` in the key-value store has a per-post summary.
**Why did a post return fewer comments than it shows?** Facebook's count includes replies and hidden comments, and its **Most relevant** order (the default) shows only a selection of comments. Try **Sort comments by** = **All comments**, and turn on **Include replies** to collect replies too. Replies count toward **Max comments per post**.
# Actor input Schema
## `postUrls` (type: `array`):
Links to public Facebook posts, videos, reels or photos, one per line. Up to 1,000 per run.
## `maxCommentsPerPost` (type: `integer`):
How many comments (and replies, if enabled) to collect per post. Up to 24 is fastest. Each comment is billed, plus a small fee per post.
## `sort` (type: `string`):
Which comments Facebook returns. Most relevant (the default) shows only a selection of comments, so try All comments if a post returns fewer than expected.
## `includeReplies` (type: `boolean`):
Also collect replies to comments. Replies count toward the comment limit.
## `maxDataAgeHours` (type: `integer`):
If we collected these comments within this many hours, you get them instantly at the same price. Use 0 to always collect fresh data.
## `cacheOnly` (type: `boolean`):
Return only comments we already collected, without waiting for live collection. Useful for AI agents with short timeouts.
