## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

### Find verified business contact and booking links

Give a sales agent a known business website and get the public ways to reach or book with that business, with source links and check times. The Actor looks for public business email addresses, linked phone numbers, contact pages, and explicit booking links. It does not guess personal contacts or infer that a business lacks booking when no link is found.

| Agent decision | Contract |
| --- | --- |
| Use it for | Enriching an existing account, checking a public contact route, or finding an observed booking path |
| Input | One official public HTTPS `company_website` |
| Output | One report in the default dataset and the `OUTPUT` key-value record |
| Price | **$0.01 per `verified-contact-report`** with at least one source-backed signal; platform usage included |
| Free outcome | `no_verified_signal`, `unknown`, or invalid input |

### Business contact enrichment input and JSON output

Input:

```json
{"company_website":"https://cliniquealpa.co.uk/"}
```

Excerpt of an **owner-funded result observed on 1 October 2026**:

```json
{
  "company_website": "https://cliniquealpa.co.uk/",
  "status": "verified",
  "email_count": 1,
  "booking_link_count": 2,
  "signals": [
    {"type":"email","value":"enquiries@cliniquealpa.co.uk","source_url":"https://cliniquealpa.co.uk/","checked_at":"2026-10-01T12:56:57.267Z"},
    {"type":"booking_link","value":"https://book.cliniquealpa.co.uk/","source_url":"https://cliniquealpa.co.uk/","checked_at":"2026-10-01T12:56:57.267Z"}
  ],
  "billing_event": "verified-contact-report",
  "billing_quantity": 1
}
```

The full report also contained a public phone number, a contact page, a second booking link, and evidence hashes. This is a dated observation; check the source again before using a contact route.

### Call the business contact finder from an agent or API

Connect to [Apify's hosted MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp). Inspect `fetch-actor-details` for `impressionable_lupine/verified-contact-booking-signals` by exact name, then call with a one-report cap. On 1 October 2026, the public Store found this Actor by name, but anonymous MCP `search-actors` omitted it while Apify's publisher verification was pending. Do not assume accountless agentic payment is available until Apify's eligibility check changes.

```json
{"actor":"impressionable_lupine/verified-contact-booking-signals","input":{"company_website":"https://cliniquealpa.co.uk/"},"waitSecs":30,"callOptions":{"maxTotalChargeUsd":0.01}}
```

`call-actor` gives run metadata, not the report. Read the dataset with `get-dataset-items` or fetch `OUTPUT` from the run's key-value store. Keep the run ID and inspect it before retrying a call whose outcome is uncertain. The direct API endpoint used in the owner-funded check is `POST https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/impressionable_lupine~verified-contact-booking-signals/run-sync-get-dataset-items?maxTotalChargeUsd=0.01` with a funded Apify token and the JSON above. That check recorded one $0.01 event; it was not an independent customer purchase.

### Public email, phone, and booking link evidence

Each signal has a source URL, check time, and evidence hash. `signals_truncated` tells an agent when the per-category output cap was reached. The Actor checks the homepage and up to one linked contact page, respects robots instructions, rejects private-network URLs, and limits requests, bytes, and time. It does not log in or use private data. `no_verified_signal` means none was observed **on the pages checked**; it is not proof that the business has no contact or booking option.

In a selected 12-site local cohort, ten sites produced source-backed signals and two returned no verified signal. Fifteen automated tests cover noisy link lists, public contact evidence, blocked URLs, and billing. A later owner-funded `no_verified_signal` cloud run recorded zero report events. These selected checks are not a general-market coverage rate.

If the same agent also needs recent public job-opening evidence, use [Verified Hiring Signals](https://apify.com/impressionable_lupine/company-recent-job-openings) as a separate $0.03 verified-report purchase. It returns dated, source-linked openings or a scoped negative/unknown result.
