## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Government Tenders Scraper – UK, EU TED & Canada Bids

Find **open public-sector tenders** from four official government portals in **one unified JSON/CSV format**: 🇬🇧 UK Contracts Finder, 🇬🇧 UK Find a Tender, 🇪🇺 EU TED (all EU/EEA member states) and 🇨🇦 CanadaBuys. You can filter by keyword, **CPV / UNSPSC code**, EU country and publication date. Every notice includes a **submission deadline** and *days left*. Turn on **only-new mode** to get daily alerts.

All data comes from the official open-data APIs. There is no scraping of HTML, no login and no proxy.

### Why this Actor?

| | **This Actor** | Typical single-country tender scrapers |
|---|---|---|
| Countries | UK + 27 EU/EEA (TED) + Canada | 1 country |
| Unified fields across portals | ✅ same schema | ❌ portal-specific |
| Keyword + CPV/UNSPSC filters | ✅ (server-side on TED) | partial |
| Deadline + days-left field | ✅ | often missing |
| Only-new monitoring mode | ✅ built-in state | ❌ |
| Official APIs, open licences | ✅ OGL / EU reuse policy | varies |
| Price | pay per notice | often $8+/1000 or rental |

### Output fields

`source, country, noticeId, ocid, url, title, description, buyerName, publishedDate, deadline, daysUntilDeadline, classificationScheme, classificationCodes, mainClassificationLabel, estimatedValue, currency, procurementCategory, status, noticeType, language, licence, scrapedAt`

```json
{ "source": "uk-find-a-tender", "country": "GB", "noticeId": "096471-2026",
  "title": "Libraries Scotland eNewspaper and eMagazine", "deadline": "2026-11-13T12:00:00Z",
  "daysUntilDeadline": 31, "classificationScheme": "CPV", "classificationCodes": ["92511000"],
  "estimatedValue": 1600000, "currency": "GBP", "url": "https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Notice/096471-2026" }
```

Dataset views: **Overview**, **Deadlines**, **By CPV / UNSPSC**, **All fields**.

### Tutorial: daily IT-tender alert in 3 minutes

1. Click **Try for free** and keep all sources selected.
2. Set **Keywords** to `software`, `cloud`, `cyber`, or set **CPV codes** to `72` (IT services) and `48` (software packages).
3. Optional: limit TED to particular countries, e.g. `DEU`, `FRA`, `IRL`.
4. Set **Published in last N days** = `2` and enable **Only new notices**. Use a state key such as `it-alerts`.
5. Save the task and add a **Schedule** (daily 08:00). Then connect an integration (Slack, email, Google Sheets, Zapier or Make) to the dataset.
6. Every run now returns only notices you have not seen yet, sorted by source, with deadline and link.

Common CPV prefixes: `45` construction · `48` software · `72` IT services · `79` business services · `33` medical · `90` environmental · `71` engineering.

### Pricing

Pay per result: you are charged per tender notice delivered. Set *Max cost per run* to cap spend. The Actor stops cleanly when that limit is reached.

### Sources & licences

- UK Contracts Finder & Find a Tender – OCDS APIs, Open Government Licence v3.0 (attribution: Crown copyright).
- EU TED – TED API v3 anonymous search, reuse under Commission Decision 2011/833/EU.
- CanadaBuys – open tender notices CSV, Open Government Licence – Canada.
- Not included: US SAM.gov (requires a registered account and an API key), AusTender (open data only covers awarded contracts).

Contact-person names, e-mails and phone numbers are intentionally **not** output. Only organisation names are included.

### FAQ

**Does the keyword filter search all languages?** On TED it uses full-text search across the notice. UK and Canada notices are matched against the English title and description.
**Why few UK results?** UK portals publish around 50–300 notices a day. Use a larger *days* value or fewer filters.

# Actor input Schema

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Official tender portals to query. Leave empty for the light UK demo (Contracts Finder + Find a Tender). Store QA uses the prefilled input and must finish within 5 minutes.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Return notices whose title or description contains ANY of these words (case-insensitive). Empty = no keyword filter.

## `classificationCodes` (type: `array`):

Classification code prefixes, e.g. 72 or 72000000 (IT services CPV). CPV applies to UK & EU, UNSPSC to Canada. Empty = all.

## `tedCountries` (type: `array`):

ISO-3 buyer country codes for TED, e.g. DEU, FRA, POL. Empty = all EU/EEA.

## `publishedSinceDays` (type: `integer`):

Look back window for notice publication.

## `onlyOpen` (type: `boolean`):

Drop notices whose submission deadline has passed.

## `maxItemsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Upper limit of notices returned from each source.

## `includeDescription` (type: `boolean`):

Include notice description (trimmed to 2000 chars).

## `onlyNew` (type: `boolean`):

Skip notices already returned by previous runs with the same state key. Ideal for scheduled daily alerts.

## `stateKey` (type: `string`):

Name of the memory used by only-new mode. Use different keys for different searches.
