## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Play App Details Scraper

Get full **Google Play app metadata** for any list of apps or developers: title, installs (bucket + exact count), rating and 1–5★ histogram, ratings and review counts, price and in-app purchase range, ads flag, category, content rating, current version, min Android version, release and last-update dates, "What's new", developer name, website, support email and privacy policy, icon, screenshots and video. Optionally add **similar apps** (or crawl them for competitor discovery) and the **top reviews** shown on the app page.

Schedule it with **Only apps that changed since last run** to track competitor updates, rating drops, price changes and install milestones.

Reads public app and developer pages only. No login, no browser, no Play search pages, polite rate (~1 s per app).

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `apps` | Package IDs (`com.spotify.music`) or Play URLs |
| `developers` | Developer name (`Spotify AB`), numeric dev ID or developer URL: scrapes every app on their page |
| `country`, `language` | Store country (`gl`) and language (`hl`), default `us` / `en` |
| `includeSimilar` | Adds `similarApps` (package IDs) |
| `expandSimilar` | Also scrapes those similar apps, up to `maxApps` |
| `includeTopReviews` | Adds `topReviews` (rating, text, date, thumbs-up, developer reply, app version). Reviewer names are not collected |
| `minInstalls` | Skip apps below this install count |
| `onlyChanged` | Output only apps whose version, update date, rating, installs or price changed since the last run |
| `maxApps`, `delaySeconds` | Run size and politeness |

#### Example: track competitors daily

```json
{"apps": ["com.duolingo", "com.babbel.mobile.android.en"], "includeSimilar": true, "onlyChanged": true}
```

#### Example: every app from a publisher

```json
{"developers": ["Spotify AB"], "country": "gb"}
```

#### Example: build a competitor list from one seed app

```json
{"apps": ["com.duolingo"], "expandSimilar": true, "minInstalls": 1000000, "maxApps": 50}
```

### Output (one item per app)

`appId, url, title, summary, description, installs, minInstalls, realInstalls, score, ratings, reviewsCount, histogram, price, currency, free, offersIAP, iapRange, adSupported, developer, developerId, developerUrl, developerEmail, developerWebsite, developerAddress, privacyPolicy, genre, genreId, icon, headerImage, screenshots, video, contentRating, released, updated, version, androidVersion, recentChanges, country, language, similarApps*, topReviews*, scrapedAt`

`version` and `androidVersion` are empty when Google shows "Varies with device".

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$1.50 per 1,000 apps**; **$3.00 per 1,000 apps with top reviews**. Invalid IDs and removed apps are not charged.

### Use cases

ASO and competitor tracking, app-market research by category, publisher portfolio audits, B2B lead lists of app developers (business support emails and websites), investor and M\&A screening, AI-agent app lookups.

### Limits

Reviews are the ones Google embeds on the app page (about 20 per app); this Actor does not page through all reviews. No Play search (robots-disallowed), no Data Safety pages. Not affiliated with Google.
