## Pricing

from $0.50 / 1,000 feed items

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## RSS Feed Scraper: Auto-Discover Feeds + Full Article Text

Read **RSS, Atom and JSON feeds** from any feed URL, or just paste a website URL and the feed is **found automatically**. Every item comes as a clean row, and you can also get the **full text of each article**, not only the short feed summary.

No login, no API key and no browser: the Actor reads the data directly, which makes it **fast and cheap**. Proxies are included in the price.

### What can you use it for?

- **News & blog monitoring**: schedule it daily with "Only items newer than" and get new posts only.
- **Content aggregation**: build a newsletter, digest or dashboard from many sources.
- **AI & RAG**: feed full article text into LLMs.
- **Competitor tracking**: follow competitor blogs and changelogs.
- **Automations**: send new items to Slack, Sheets or email with Zapier, Make or n8n.

### Features

| | |
|---|---|
| Inputs | Feed URLs or plain website URLs (auto-discovery via link tags and common feed paths) |
| Formats | RSS 2.0, Atom, RDF/RSS 1.0, JSON Feed |
| Per item | Feed title, item title, link, GUID, published and updated date, author, categories, summary, content, image, enclosure (podcasts) |
| Full text | Optional: the article text extracted from the item page |
| Filters | Only items newer than a date, max items per feed |

### How to use

1. Fill in the input (the form explains every field).
2. Click **Start**.
3. Download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or use them through the API, webhooks, Zapier, Make or n8n.

### Input example

```json
{
    "urls": [
        "https://www.theverge.com",
        "https://github.blog/feed/",
        "overreacted.io"
    ],
    "maxItemsPerFeed": 20,
    "includeFullText": true
}
```

### Output example

```json
{
    "feedTitle": "The Verge",
    "feedUrl": "https://www.theverge.com/rss/index.xml",
    "feedType": "atom",
    "title": "The director of Obsession put a new horror short on YouTube",
    "link": "https://www.theverge.com/streaming/1022934/curry-barker-obsession-horror-short-youtube-mama-bear",
    "guid": "https://www.theverge.com/?p=1022934",
    "published": "2026-10-29T23:57:18.000Z",
    "updated": "2026-10-29T23:57:18.000Z",
    "author": "Jay Peters",
    "categories": [
        "Entertainment",
        "News",
        "Streaming"
    ],
    "summary": "Curry Barker, the director behind the hit horror film Obsession, just published a new horror short on YouTube. The short, titled \"Mama Bear,\" is nearly five ...",
    "content": "Curry Barker, the director behind the hit horror film Obsession, just published a new horror short on YouTube. The short, titled \"Mama Bear,\" is nearly five ...",
    "image": "https://platform.theverge.com/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2026/10/videoframe_44000.png?quality=90&strip=all&crop=0,0,100,100",
    "enclosure": null,
    "fullText": "Streaming\n\nEntertainment\n\nNews\n\nThe director of Obsession put a new horror short on YouTube\n\nYou can watch Curry Barker’s ‘Mama Bear’ on YouTube right now.\n\n...",
    "status": "ok"
}
```

Inputs that cannot be scraped (wrong URL, not found, blocked) get a free row with `status` and `error`, so you always know what happened. A run summary is saved to the key-value store as `SUMMARY`.

### Pricing

You pay **per feed item** saved. Proxies and compute are included. Set a maximum cost per run and the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached.

### FAQ

**What if a site has no feed?**
You get a free row with status not_found. The Actor checks link tags and common paths like /feed and /rss.xml.

**How is full text charged?**
Each item is one event; when Include full article text is on, items with extracted text add one Article text event.

**Can I monitor feeds?**
Yes: schedule the Actor and set Only items newer than to the last run date.

**Can I call it from code or an AI agent?**
Yes, via the Apify API, the official JS/Python clients, or Apify's MCP server.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

RSS/Atom/JSON feed URLs or plain website URLs, one per line. For websites the feed is found automatically.

## `maxItemsPerFeed` (type: `integer`):

0 = everything in the feed.

## `onlyNewerThan` (type: `string`):

Optional date, e.g. 2026-10-01. Handy for scheduled monitoring.

## `includeFullText` (type: `boolean`):

Open each item link and extract the article text (charged as an extra event).

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many items to process at the same time.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Proxies are included in the price. Switch to residential proxies if you see many blocked requests.
