## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Trends Scraper

Get Google Trends data for many keywords in one run: **interest over time**, **interest by region** and **related queries** (top and rising), for any country, region and time range.

### Why this one

- **Runs finish.** When Google rate-limits a request, the scraper opens a fresh session on a new residential IP and retries with growing waits. In our tests, 20 out of 20 keywords came back complete.
- **One row per keyword** with every widget inside, ready for a spreadsheet or a dashboard.
- **Nothing is lost.** If a keyword still fails, it comes back in the dataset with the reason, so you know exactly what to rerun.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `searchTerms` | Keywords or topics, one per line |
| `geo` | Country or region code (US, BR, GB, BR-SP). Empty means worldwide |
| `timeRange` | From past hour to since 2004, or a custom range like `2024-01-01 2024-12-31` |
| `include` | Which widgets to return |
| `category`, `searchProperty` | Google Trends category and search type (web, images, news, Shopping, YouTube) |

### Output

```json
{
  "keyword": "black friday",
  "geo": "US",
  "timeRange": "today 12-m",
  "interestOverTime": [{"date": "Nov 24, 2025", "timestamp": 1763942400, "value": 100, "isPartial": false}],
  "interestByRegion": [{"geoCode": "US-NY", "geoName": "New York", "value": 87}],
  "relatedQueries": {"top": [{"query": "black friday deals", "value": 100}], "rising": [{"query": "black friday 2026", "value": 5000, "formattedValue": "Breakout"}]}
}
```

### Pricing

You pay per keyword returned. Failed keywords are free.

### Notes

Values are Google's relative interest index (0 to 100), not absolute search volume. Related topics are returned only when Google provides them.
