## Pricing

from $1.00 / 1,000 films

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Letterboxd Film Scraper (IMDb and TMDB ID lookup, no login)

Use this Actor when you need Letterboxd ratings and film details for a list of movies, looked up by Letterboxd link, slug, IMDb ID or TMDB ID.

Get the Letterboxd rating and the full film record for any list of films. Paste Letterboxd links, Letterboxd slugs, IMDb IDs or TMDB IDs, mixed in one list, and get one clean row per film.

### What you get for each film

- Letterboxd average rating (0.5 to 5), number of ratings and number of reviews
- Title, original title, year, runtime, tagline and synopsis
- Genres and Letterboxd themes
- Studios, countries, primary and spoken languages, alternative titles
- Every release with date, type (premiere, theatrical, digital, physical, TV), country, age certification and note
- IMDb ID, TMDB ID, Letterboxd film ID and slug, so you can join Letterboxd ratings with IMDb or TMDB data
- Poster, backdrop and trailer links

Cast and crew names are not returned.

### Why this one

- **Bulk ID lookup.** Most Letterboxd scrapers need Letterboxd links. This one also takes `tt6751668` or `tmdb:496243` and finds the Letterboxd page for you, which is what you need to add Letterboxd ratings to a movie database.
- **Built to finish.** A blocked request gets a new residential session with growing backoff. In our test, 5 of 5 real films came back with 0 errors, mixing links, slugs, an IMDb ID and a TMDB link.
- **Failures are free.** A film that is not found or cannot be fetched comes back with an `error` field and `charged: false` and is not charged; every charged row carries `charged: true`, and the run's final message says how many failed. The same film listed twice (for example by IMDb ID and by link) is charged once.

### Input

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `films` | list of strings | 3 sample films | One film per line: `https://letterboxd.com/film/parasite-2019/`, `parasite-2019`, `tt6751668`, an IMDb link, `tmdb:496243` or a TMDB movie link |
| `includeReleases` | boolean | `true` | Add the release list (date, country, certification) |
| `maxConcurrency` | integer | `3` | Films fetched at the same time, 1 to 5 |
| `proxy` | object | Apify residential | Proxy settings |

Example:

```json
{
  "films": ["https://letterboxd.com/film/parasite-2019/", "tt0111161", "tmdb:940721"],
  "includeReleases": false
```

A film that fails:

```json
{"input": "this-film-does-not-exist-xyz-2099", "charged": false, "error": "film not found on Letterboxd; not charged"}
```

### Pricing

You pay per result: **$0.002 per film**. Failures are free: rows with `error` are never charged, and duplicates are charged once.

### Limits

- Film titles typed as free text (like `Dune Part Two`) are not searched; use the Letterboxd link, the slug, the IMDb ID or the TMDB ID.
- Rating histograms, member reviews, user profiles and lists are not returned.

# Actor input Schema

## `films` (type: `array`):

One film per line. Accepted: a Letterboxd film link (letterboxd.com/film/parasite-2019/), a Letterboxd slug (parasite-2019), an IMDb ID or link (tt6751668), or a TMDB ID or link (tmdb:496243). Each film is returned once even if listed twice.

## `includeReleases` (type: `boolean`):

Add every release (premiere, theatrical, digital, physical, TV) with date, country, age certification and note. Turn off for a smaller dataset.

## `maxConcurrency` (type: `integer`):

How many films are fetched at the same time, from 1 to 5. Lower is gentler on Letterboxd.

## `proxy` (type: `object`):

Proxy settings. Residential proxy is recommended: Letterboxd sits behind Cloudflare.
