## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Sirene Scraper: French Companies by NAF, SIREN & SIRET

Search and export French companies (SIREN, SIRET, NAF code, size, revenue) from the official Sirene open data, and get clean JSON that excludes sole traders and every company opposed to commercial prospecting.

This Actor is independent. It is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by the INSEE, the DINUM
or the French government.

Source: API Recherche d'entreprises (DINUM), built on the SIRENE database (INSEE) and other public
registers, reused under the Open Licence 2.0. Each result gives its last update date.

### What data can you get?

Each result is one French legal entity, with its head office.

| Field | Description |
| --- | --- |
| `siren`, `headOfficeSiret` | Official company and head office identifiers |
| `name`, `acronym` | Registered name and acronym |
| `legalCategoryCode` | INSEE legal category code |
| `nafCode`, `nafSection` | French activity code and section |
| `companyCategory` | PME, ETI or GE |
| `employeeRangeCode`, `employeeRange` | Employee range |
| `createdAt`, `isActive` | Creation date and current status |
| `establishments`, `openEstablishments` | Number of establishments |
| `city`, `postalCode`, `departmentCode`, `regionCode` | Head office location |
| `revenueEur`, `netIncomeEur`, `financialYear` | Latest published figures, when available |
| `certifications` | RGE, Qualiopi, ESS and other labels |
| `vatNumber` | Intra-community VAT number |
| `dataUpdatedAt` | Last update of the source record |
| `profileUrl` | Public page on the official company directory |

### How to use it

1. Enter a search text, or choose NAF codes, departments or a company size.
2. Set the maximum number of companies.
3. Run the Actor, then download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel.

### Pricing

This Actor is free to use during its launch. You only pay for Apify platform usage.

### Which companies are excluded?

This Actor is built to reduce your compliance work. It skips:

- every company that has not explicitly accepted commercial reuse. The source flags opposition to
prospecting under article 21 of the GDPR, and we also skip companies with no answer. In our tests,
  this removed about 40% of results;
- sole traders, because their company name is the name of a person;
- civil property companies (SCI), which are often family structures;
- companies with partial public disclosure.

Excluded companies are counted in the run log. You remain responsible for how you use the data.

### Limits

- No street address, GPS coordinates, directors, e-mails or phone numbers.
- Department and postal code filters match any establishment, so the head office shown may be elsewhere.
- The source stops at 10,000 raw results per search. A run returns 5,000 companies at most. To go
further, split your search by department or NAF code.
- Revenue is only available for companies that publish it.
- Company names can contain a founder's name, because they are the registered names of legal entities.

### FAQ

#### Where does the data come from?

From the French government's API Recherche d'entreprises, which is open and free. This Actor adds
filtering, compliance checks and a clean output format.

#### Why are there fewer results than on the official directory?

Because of the exclusions above. They apply to every run and cannot be disabled.

#### Why did my run return no results?

Your filters are probably too narrow. Try a shorter search text, or remove a filter. Revenue filters
only match companies that publish their figures.

#### Why did my run fail with an "Invalid" message?

The message names the field to fix. NAF codes use the `62.01Z` format, departments use two or three
characters (`01`, `2A`, `974`) and postal codes use five digits.
