## Pricing

from $1.00 / 1,000 reviews

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Capterra Reviews Scraper: only new reviews, clean data, any number of products

Get Capterra software reviews as clean, ready-to-use rows: pros, cons, five sub-ratings, likelihood to recommend, and who wrote each review (job title, industry, company size, time using the product, which tools they switched from).

**Run it once for history, then schedule it to get only the reviews written since your last run.**

### Why choose this actor?

- 🔔 **Only new reviews.** Set *Only reviews since* and the run stops as soon as it reaches older reviews. Daily monitoring runs finish in seconds and cost cents.
- 🧹 **Clean, analysis-ready data.** Ratings are numbers (`4`, not `"4.0"`), dates are ISO (`2026-09-24`), reviewer fields are flat columns, and "switched from" is a simple list of product names. Open it in Excel or feed it to an LLM without cleanup.
- 📦 **Many products per run, no free-tier limits.** Paste 1 or 100 product URLs. Free Apify accounts get the full actor, not a 5-review demo.
- ↕️ **Four sort orders**: Most recent, Most helpful, Highest rating, Lowest rating (complaints first).
- ⚡ **Fast.** Reviews are fetched 25 at a time from Capterra's own data feed, not by loading every page. About 1,000 reviews in 1–2 minutes.
- 💵 **Pay only for reviews you get.** No monthly rental. Cap any run with *Max cost per run*.

### Quick start

1. Paste one or more Capterra product URLs, e.g. `https://www.capterra.com/p/186596/Notion/`
2. Choose how many reviews per product and the sort order.
3. Click **Start**. Download results as CSV, Excel, or JSON, or read them via API.

#### Monitor new reviews every day

1. Set **Sort reviews by** = *Most recent* and **Only reviews since** = `1 day` (relative dates like `7 days` or `1 month` work too, so the schedule never needs editing).
2. In Apify Console click **Schedule** → daily.
3. Add an integration (Slack, Google Sheets, Make, Zapier, webhook) to receive the new reviews automatically.

#### Common recipes

| Goal | Settings |
| --- | --- |
| Competitor's biggest complaints | Sort = *Lowest rating*, Max reviews = 200 |
| Why customers switch to a competitor | Sort = *Most recent*, then filter rows where `switchedFrom` is not empty |
| Full review history for research | Sort = *Most recent*, Max reviews = 10000 |
| Weekly digest for your own product | Sort = *Most recent*, Only reviews since = `7 days`, scheduled weekly |

### Copy to your AI assistant

Paste this into ChatGPT, Claude, Cursor, or any agent connected to Apify (for example via the Apify MCP server):

### FAQ

**Do I need a Capterra account or API key?** No. The actor reads public review pages.

**Why is a residential proxy recommended?** Capterra is protected by Cloudflare. Residential IPs pass its checks reliably; the cost is already included in the price.

**How many reviews can I get per product?** All of them. Capterra shows every review through paging; set *Max reviews per product* as high as you need.

**Can it scrape GetApp or Software Advice?** Reviews syndicated from those sites appear on Capterra and are included, marked with `source`. Dedicated support is planned.

**Something missing or broken?** Open an issue on the actor's Issues tab. Fixes usually ship within a day.

### Legal

This actor collects only publicly available data. Reviewer names are returned exactly as Capterra shows them publicly (first name and last initial). If you process personal data, make sure you have a legitimate reason and comply with GDPR and other applicable laws. This actor is independent and not affiliated with Capterra or Gartner.
