# Cheap Booking.com Scraper — Hotels, Prices & Reviews (`istmobot/booking-scraper-cheap`) Actor

Scrape Booking.com hotels for any destination and dates: price for your dates, rating, reviews count, stars, address, GPS, rooms and options, facilities, images, policies, plus optional guest reviews. Same input and output fields as the popular Booking scrapers at about half the price.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Cheap Booking.com Scraper: hotel prices, details and reviews

**A cheaper drop-in alternative with the same input and output fields.** Paste the input you already use with the most popular Booking.com scraper on Apify Store (`search`, `maxItems`, `checkIn`, `checkOut`, `currency`, `sortBy`, `propertyType`, `starsCountFilter`, `minMaxPrice`, ...) and get the same field names back (`name`, `price`, `currency`, `rating`, `reviews`, `stars`, `address`, `location`, `rooms`, `facilities`, `images`, `url`, `hotelId`, ...). The price is **$2.75 per 1,000 properties** instead of $5, and **$1.10 per 1,000 reviews** instead of $2.

### Price comparison

| | This Actor | Most popular Booking.com scrapers |
|---|---|---|
| Property with full detail-page data | **$2.75 / 1,000** | $5.00 / 1,000 |
| Guest review | **$1.10 / 1,000** | $2.00 / 1,000 (separate Actor) |
| Run start | $0.005 | — |
| Errors (no results, invalid URL, hotel not found) | free | free |

You pay per result, not for compute or proxies. Set a maximum cost per run and the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached.

### Built for daily price monitoring

Give it a destination and dates, and every property comes back with the **price for your stay** (taxes and fees included, like Booking shows at checkout), the cheapest room option, and every room with its options (`price`, `displayedPrice`, `excludedTaxesPrice`, cancellation type, meal plan choices, rooms left). Dates can be relative (`"7 days"`, `"2 weeks"`), so one scheduled task keeps tracking "next weekend" without edits.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| `search` | City, region, landmark or hotel name, e.g. `"Lisbon"` |
| `startUrls` | Booking.com search result URLs (all filters in the URL are kept) or hotel page URLs |
| `maxItems` | Max properties per search (default 10). Booking shows at most ~1,000 per search; bigger searches are split by star class automatically |
| `checkIn`, `checkOut` | `YYYY-MM-DD` or relative (`"14 days"`). Check-out defaults to one night later |
| `rooms`, `adults`, `children` | Party size |
| `currency`, `language` | e.g. `USD`, `en-gb` |
| `sortBy` | `distance_from_search` (default), `popularity`, `price`, `review_score_and_price`, `bayesian_review_score`, `class`, `class_asc`, `distance` |
| `propertyType`, `starsCountFilter`, `minScore`, `minMaxPrice` | Filters |
| `maxReviewsPerHotel` | Also scrape this many guest reviews per property (0 = none) |
| `sortReviewsBy`, `cutoffDate`, `reviewScores`, `reviewsOnly` | Review options |

Example:

```json
{
    "search": "Lisbon",
    "maxItems": 100,
    "checkIn": "2026-11-20",
    "checkOut": "2026-11-22",
    "currency": "USD",
    "adults": 2,
    "rooms": 1
}
```

### Output

One item per property:

```json
{
    "order": 1,
    "url": "https://www.booking.com/hotel/pt/flh-heart-of-rossio-apartment-xi.en-gb.html?checkin=2026-11-20&checkout=2026-11-22&...",
    "name": "FLH Heart of Rossio Units",
    "type": "apartment",
    "description": "FLH Heart of Rossio Units is located in the centre of Lisbon...",
    "stars": null,
    "price": 412.36,
    "currency": "US$",
    "rating": 8.9,
    "ratingLabel": "Fabulous",
    "reviews": 1204,
    "checkIn": "From 15:00 to 00:00",
    "checkOut": "From 07:00 to 11:00",
    "checkInDate": "2026-11-20",
    "checkOutDate": "2026-11-22",
    "location": { "lat": "38.7140", "lng": "-9.1399" },
    "address": { "full": "Rua ..., Lisbon", "country": "pt", "city": "Lisbon" },
    "image": "https://cf.bstatic.com/xdata/images/hotel/max1024x768/....jpg",
    "rooms": [{ "roomType": "One-Bedroom Apartment", "bedTypes": [...], "facilities": [...], "roomsLeft": 2, "options": [{ "price": 412.36, "displayedPrice": 380, "excludedTaxesPrice": 32.36, "freeCancellation": true, "yourChoices": [...] }] }],
    "highlights": [...], "finePrint": "...", "images": [...], "roomImages": [...],
    "categoryReviews": [...], "reviewSummary": {...}, "hotelChain": null,
    "licenseInfo": {...}, "hostInfo": {...}, "traderInfo": {...}, "breadcrumbs": [...],
    "hotelId": 15172511,
    "facilities": [{ "name": "Great for your stay", "facilities": [...] }, ...],
    "timeOfScrapeISO": "2026-10-31T07:27:58.030Z"
}
```

Reviews (when `maxReviewsPerHotel` > 0) use the same fields as the popular Booking reviews scraper: `id`, `userName`, `userLocation`, `rating`, `reviewTitle`, `likedText`, `dislikedText`, `reviewDate`, `checkInDate`, `checkOutDate`, `numberOfNights`, `travelerType`, `roomInfo`, `reviewLanguage`, `propertyResponse`, `images`, `hotelId`, `hotelRating`, `hotelRatingScores`, ...

Problems are reported as free items: `{ "startUrlOrQuery": "...", "error": "no_results_found", "errorDescription": "..." }`.

### Differences you may notice

- `ratingLabel` is filled ("Good", "Fabulous"...); some scrapers always return `null` here.
- Breadcrumb links are clean URLs, without session parameters.
- Results follow Booking's own order for the chosen `sortBy`, so the first N items are stable from run to run.
- Not supported: the extra "surroundings" block, flexible-date windows and minimum-night fields. Review score filtering (`reviewScores`) is applied after download.

### FAQ

**Do I need a Booking.com account or my own proxies?** No. Only public pages are read, through Apify Proxy.

**How fresh are prices?** Live: each run reads the property page for your dates and party size.

**Can I scrape more than 1,000 properties for one city?** Yes: when a search has more than 1,000 results, it is split by star class (each Booking search is capped at ~1,000).
