## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Hotels Prices

Type a destination, get the hotels Google Hotels shows for it. Add check-in and check-out dates and each hotel also comes back with its street address, its amenities and the nightly price on every booking site Google lists (Booking.com, Expedia, the hotel's own site and so on).

The data comes from the licensed DataForSEO Google Hotels API. This actor does not scrape Google, so there are no blocked pages, captchas or proxy costs on your side.

### What you get

For every hotel:

- name, hotel class (stars), guest rating and number of reviews
- latitude and longitude, and a link to the hotel on Google Hotels
- the lowest nightly price Google shows, with its dates and currency
- whether the listing is a sponsored one

When you give dates, also:

- full address
- amenities that are available (Wi-Fi, pool, parking, breakfast...)
- `providerPrices`: one entry per booking site with the nightly price, currency, whether it is the official hotel site, whether the link is an ad, and the free-cancellation date when there is one

### Input

| Field | Required | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|
| `destination` | yes | `Lisbon, Portugal` | City, area or landmark, as you would type it into Google Hotels |
| `checkIn` | no | `2026-12-10` or `30 days` | Give both dates or neither |
| `checkOut` | no | `2026-12-12` or `32 days` | After check-in, at most 30 nights later |
| `adults` | no | `2` | 1 to 6 |
| `currency` | no | `EUR` | Three-letter code, default USD |
| `maxHotels` | no | `18` | 1 to 100, default 18 (one Google Hotels page) |

Relative dates such as `30 days` are handy for scheduled runs: the run always looks 30 days ahead.

```json
{
    "destination": "Lisbon, Portugal",
    "checkIn": "30 days",
    "checkOut": "32 days",
    "currency": "EUR",
    "maxHotels": 18
}
```

### Output example

One dataset item per hotel (shortened):

```json
{
    "hotelId": "ChYIq6SB--i6p6cpGgovbS8wN2s5ODZfEAE",
    "name": "President Hotel Athens",
    "hotelClass": 4,
    "rating": 4.2,
    "reviewsCount": 8552,
    "address": "Leof. Kifisias 43, Athina 115 23, Greece",
    "latitude": 37.9890814,
    "longitude": 23.7638777,
    "amenities": ["Wi-Fi", "Restaurant", "Bar", "Pool", "Parking"],
    "lowestPricePerNight": 165,
    "currency": "USD",
    "checkIn": "2026-04-25",
    "checkOut": "2026-04-26",
    "providerPrices": [
        { "provider": "President Hotel Athens", "pricePerNight": 178, "currency": "USD", "officialSite": true, "sponsored": false, "freeCancellationUntil": null, "url": "https://..." },
        { "provider": "Vio.com", "pricePerNight": 165, "currency": "USD", "officialSite": false, "sponsored": false, "freeCancellationUntil": null, "url": "https://..." }
    ],
    "isSponsored": false,
    "googleUrl": "https://www.google.com/travel/hotels/entity/ChYIq6SB--i6p6cpGgovbS8wN2s5ODZfEAE",
    "destination": "Athens, Greece",
    "scrapedAt": "2026-10-31T15:08:19.145Z"
}
```

Fields that Google does not show for a hotel are `null`, never guessed. The Output tab has two views: **Hotels** (one row per hotel) and **Prices by site** (one row per hotel and booking site).

### Pricing

You pay per hotel returned, nothing per run:

| Event | Price | When |
|---|---|---|
| Hotel listed | $0.001 | Every hotel in your results |
| Hotel priced | $0.0049 | Extra, only for a hotel that came back with booking-site prices (needs dates) |

Examples: 18 hotels without dates cost $0.018. 18 hotels with dates cost at most $0.1062 (18 x $0.0059), and less when some hotels show no prices for your dates.

The actor reads your run's maximum charge before it buys any data and returns only as many hotels as that budget covers, so a run never goes over the limit you set.

**Free Apify plan:** live data needs a paid Apify plan. On a free plan the run still succeeds and returns one sample hotel recorded earlier, marked with `"isSample": true`, at no charge.

### Limits

- Up to 100 hotels per run. Google Hotels pages hold 18 hotels each.
- Stays of up to 30 nights, up to 6 guests, check-in today or later.
- A run without dates takes about 15 seconds. With dates it usually takes 1 to 2 minutes, because each hotel's prices are looked up separately.
- If a hotel's price lookup does not finish in time, that hotel is still listed, just without booking-site prices, and you are not charged the "hotel priced" event for it.
- Prices are what Google Hotels showed at run time, in the currency you picked. Taxes and fees follow Google's own display.
- The actor has a daily cap on how much data it buys in total. If the cap is reached, runs stop with a clear message until 00:00 UTC.

### FAQ

**Does this scrape Google?**
No. It calls the DataForSEO Google Hotels API, a paid, licensed data provider. That is why it does not break when Google changes its page layout.

**Why are `address`, `amenities` and `providerPrices` empty?**
They come from a separate per-hotel lookup that runs only when you give check-in and check-out dates.

**Why did I get fewer hotels than `maxHotels`?**
Either Google showed fewer hotels for that destination, or your run's maximum charge covered fewer hotels.

**Why did I get one hotel from a different city?**
You are on a free Apify plan and got the sample row. Check the `note` field.

**Can I schedule it or call it from an AI agent?**
Yes. It runs with limited permissions, so it needs no access to your other Apify data, and it works from schedules, the API and MCP clients. Use relative dates (`30 days`) for schedules.

**What does the actor store in my account?**
Your results go to the run's dataset as usual. It also keeps a tiny key-value store named `google-hotels-prices-budget` with one number per day (how much data it bought), which you can delete at any time.

**Is there personal data in the results?**
No. Results are about hotels as businesses: names, addresses, ratings, prices.
