# US House Financial Disclosures & Stock Trades (`j0401/us-congress-disclosures`) Actor

Every US House financial disclosure published by the Clerk (2008 to today, public records): the filing index, plus STOCK Act periodic transaction reports parsed into individual trades - asset, ticker, buy/sell, dates and disclosed amount range. ## Pricing

from $0.03 / 1,000 us house disclosure records

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## US House Financial Disclosures & Stock Trades

Every financial disclosure the **US House Clerk** publishes, **2008 to
today** - the filing index plus the **STOCK Act periodic transaction reports
(PTR)** parsed into individual trades: asset, ticker, asset type, buy/sell,
transaction and notification dates, and the disclosed amount range.

Public records, no login, no key. **House only** - the Senate's eFD search
blocks automated access and is not included.

As of the **2026-10-18** build: **42,137 filings** (2008-2026) and
**54,112 parsed trades** from 5,612 of 8,416 PTR PDFs. Some PTRs are scanned
images with no text layer, and some form layouts yield no parsed rows; those
filings are still indexed with their PDF link but contribute no parsed trades.

### Low cost

**From $0.00005 per record, down to $0.00003 at Gold.** Pay only for the
records you actually receive.

### Two data products in one actor

| mode | what you get |
|---|---|
| `filings` | the disclosure index: member, filing type, state/district, filing date, DocID, report PDF link |
| `trades` | parsed PTR trades: asset, ticker, asset type, owner code, S/P, transaction date, notification date, amount range, filing status, sub-holding |
| `profile` | one DocID: its index row plus every parsed trade in it |
| `aggregate` | one count row per group |

### Search it

- **Ticker** - `ticker="NVDA"` (exact symbol in a parsed trade).
- **Member** - `member="Pelosi"` (substring over the full name) or
  `lastName="Pelosi"` (exact).
- **Where** - `state="CA"` or `stateDistrict="CA11"`.
- **When** - `year=2025`, `transactionFrom` / `transactionTo`,
  `filingFrom` / `filingTo`.
- **Filing type** - `O` annual report, `P` periodic transaction report,
  `C` candidate report, `T` termination report, `A` amendment. Other codes
  (`X`, `D`, `W`, ) pass through exactly as filed by the Clerk.
- **Trade side** - `transactionType="P"` (purchase) or `"S"` (sale).
- **Per run** - up to 5,000 records in one run.

### Example inputs

**One ticker across the House** - every parsed buy or sell carrying that ticker
(tickers are present on roughly half of parsed trade rows).

```json
{ "ticker": "NVDA", "maxResults": 25 }
```

**One member's trades** - the STOCK Act trail.

```json
{ "member": "Pelosi", "mode": "trades", "maxResults": 50 }
```

**All periodic transaction reports filed in a year**

```json
{ "year": 2025, "filingType": "P", "maxResults": 25 }
```

**One filing, in full** - the index row plus every parsed trade.

```json
{ "docId": "20032062" }
```

**Counts by filing type** - `mode=aggregate`.

```json
{ "mode": "aggregate", "groupBy": "filingType" }
```

### Example output

**One parsed trade** - `mode=trades` (abridged; aggregate/meta keys omitted):

```json
{
 "recordType": "trade",
 "docId": "20032062",
 "year": "2025",
 "memberName": "Hon. Robert B. Aderholt",
 "lastName": "Aderholt",
 "firstName": "Robert B.",
 "stateDistrict": "AL04",
 "state": "AL",
 "filingDate": "2025-09-10",
 "assetName": "GSK plc American Depositary Shares",
 "ticker": "GSK",
 "assetType": "ST",
 "transactionType": "S",
 "transactionDate": "2025-07-28",
 "notificationDate": "2025-08-11",
 "amountRange": "$1,001 - $15,000",
 "amountLow": "1001",
 "amountHigh": "15000",
 "filingStatus": "New",
 "subholdingOf": "",
 "pdfUrl": "https://disclosures-clerk.house.gov/public_disc/ptr-pdfs/2025/20032062.pdf"
}
```

### Notes on the data, from the source

- **House only.** The Senate eFD search returns 403 to automated access; it
  is not part of this dataset.
- **Not every PTR yields trades.** Periodic transaction reports are parsed from
  their PDF text when that text is extractable; scanned backfile reports are
  indexed with their PDF link but contribute no trade rows.
- **Amounts are disclosed ranges** (`$1,001 - $15,000`), not exact values -
  that is what the STOCK Act requires members to report.
- **Asset type codes** are the House's own abbreviations (`ST` stock, `CS`
  corporate security, and others as filed); the reference is linked from each
  PTR. Some fields are blank on a subset of rows - about half of parsed trades
  carry a ticker and roughly half carry an owner or sub-holding; filing status
  is present on almost every parsed row.
- **One trade row = one line in a PTR.** A single filing can contain many
  trades across assets and dates. PTR parsing starts with the 2013-2014
  reports; the House index has no transaction reports before 2013.
- **Ordering.** A search scans the newest year first, then older years.
- **No PII beyond the public filing.** Members of Congress are public
  officials and these are their published financial disclosures.

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

filings = the disclosure index. trades = parsed periodic transaction reports. profile = one DocID (its index row plus every parsed trade). aggregate = one row per group. Leave blank to auto-route.

## `lastName` (type: `string`):

Exact last name (e.g. "Pelosi").

## `state` (type: `string`):

Two-letter state code, e.g. "TX".

## `stateDistrict` (type: `string`):

Exact StateDst value, e.g. "TX31" or "AL04".

## `filingType` (type: `string`):

Filing type code: O = annual report, P = periodic transaction report (trades), C = candidate report, T = termination report, A = amendment.

## `ticker` (type: `string`):

Exact ticker symbol in a parsed trade, e.g. "GSK", "AAPL", "NVDA".

## `assetName` (type: `string`):

Asset name substring in a parsed trade, case-insensitive (e.g. "Treasury" or "Apple").

## `aggregate` (type: `boolean`):

When on, returns one summary record per group with count.

## `groupBy` (type: `string`):
