## Pricing

from $1.40 / 1,000 act (metadata)s

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## EUR-Lex Legislation Search & Full Text

Search EU legislation and get **clean, structured data and full texts split into articles**, in any of the 24 official EU languages. Built for compliance tools, legal research and RAG / AI pipelines that need the actual text of the GDPR, the AI Act, NIS2, DORA and every other EU regulation, directive and decision.

### What it does

- **Search** EU acts by words in the title, document type, adoption date, or **CELEX number**
- Returns **metadata**: CELEX, title, type (regulation, implementing/delegated act, directive, decision, recommendation), adoption date, **all entry-into-force dates** (the AI Act has five), in-force status, ELI identifier and EUR-Lex link
- Optionally downloads the **full text**, cleaned of markup and footnotes
- Optionally **splits the text into articles** (number, heading, text): ready to index in a vector database or feed to an LLM

### Data source

All data comes from the **official open data of the EU Publications Office** (Cellar SPARQL endpoint and content negotiation), the machine-readable channel the EU provides for exactly this purpose. No scraping of the EUR-Lex website, no proxies. EU legal texts can be reused under [Commission Decision 2011/833/EU](https://eur-lex.europa.eu/eli/dec/2011/833/oj).

### Examples

**The GDPR and the AI Act in Italian, split into articles**

```json
{
  "celexNumbers": ["32016R0679", "32024R1689"],
  "language": "it",
  "includeFullText": true
}
```

**All regulations about artificial intelligence still in force**

```json
{
  "titleContains": "artificial intelligence",
  "documentTypes": ["regulation"],
  "inForceOnly": true
}
```

**Every directive adopted in 2026**

```json
{
  "documentTypes": ["directive"],
  "dateFrom": "2026-01-01"
}
```

### Output

```json
{
  "celex": "32024R1689",
  "title": "Regulation (EU) 2024/1689 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 13 June 2024 laying down harmonised rules on artificial intelligence ...",
  "documentType": "REG",
  "date": "2024-06-13",
  "entryIntoForce": ["2024-08-01", "2025-02-02", "2025-08-02", "2026-08-02", "2027-08-02"],
  "inForce": true,
  "eli": "http://data.europa.eu/eli/reg/2024/1689/oj",
  "language": "en",
  "url": "https://eur-lex.europa.eu/legal-content/EN/TXT/?uri=CELEX:32024R1689",
  "fullText": "...",
  "articles": [
    { "id": "art_1", "number": "Article 1", "title": "Subject matter", "text": "1. The purpose of this Regulation is ..." }
  ]
}
```

### Pricing

Pay per event, only for results you get:

- **$0.002** per act with metadata, **$0.01** per act with full text split into articles.
- Apify subscribers pay less: **10% off on Bronze, 20% on Silver, 30% on Gold** and higher plans.
- Set a maximum charge per run in the run options: the Actor stops cleanly when it is reached.

### Input reference

| Field | Type | Default | Description |
|---|---|---|---|
| `titleContains` | string | | **Words in the title**. All words must appear in the act's title, in the chosen language (e.g. 'artificial intelligence', 'data protection'). |
| `celexNumbers` | array | | **CELEX numbers**. Fetch specific acts by CELEX number (e.g. 32016R0679 for the GDPR, 32024R1689 for the AI Act). |
| `documentTypes` | array of codes | | **Document types**. Leave empty for all. Each type includes its implementing and delegated acts. |
| `dateFrom` | string |  | **Adopted from**. Document date, YYYY-MM-DD. |
| `dateTo` | string |  | **Adopted until**. Document date, YYYY-MM-DD. |
| `inForceOnly` | boolean | `false` | **Only acts in force**. Return only acts currently in force. |
| `includeCorrigenda` | boolean | `false` | **Include corrigenda**. Also return corrections (corrigenda) of acts as separate results. |
| `language` | string (`bg`, `cs`, `da`, `de`, `el`, `en`, `es`, `et`, `fi`, `fr`, `ga`, `hr`, `hu`, `it`, `lt`, `lv`, `mt`, `nl`, `pl`, `pt`, `ro`, `sk`, `sl`, `sv`) | `en` | **Language**. Language of titles and texts. All 24 official EU languages are available. |
| `includeFullText` | boolean | `false` | **Include full text**. Download and clean the full text of each act (charged as a separate, higher-priced event). |
| `splitArticles` | boolean | `true` | **Split text into articles**. With full text, also return a list of articles (number, heading, text). Ideal for RAG and compliance tools. |
| `maxResults` | integer | `50` | **Max results**. Maximum number of acts to return. |

### Tips

- **CELEX numbers** are the most precise way to fetch known acts: `3` + year + `R`/`L`/`D` + number (e.g. `32022L2555` is NIS2).
- Title search matches **all** words, in the language you choose: search in Italian with `"language": "it"` and Italian words.
- Corrigenda (corrections) are excluded by default; enable *Include corrigenda* to get them.
- Very old acts may not have an HTML text in every language; you still get the metadata and a note.

### Limitations

- This version covers **legislation** (sector 3 of EUR-Lex). Case law of the Court of Justice and consolidated versions are on the roadmap: open an issue if you need them.
- Searches the title, not the full text.

### Privacy

The Actor sends the developer an anonymous end-of-run notice (number of results, amount charged, duration, success or error) to monitor reliability. Your input, your results and your identity are never sent.

### Feedback
