## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Florida Business Leads Scraper – New LLC Filings (Sunbiz) & Contractor Licenses (DBPR)

Get fresh **Florida contractor leads** straight from the official Florida DBPR license database (myfloridalicense.com): roofing, general, residential, building, plumbing, AC/HVAC, pool/spa, solar and more – filtered by county or city, active licenses only, exported to Excel/CSV/JSON.

### Use cases

- **B2B sales & lead gen** – sell roofing supplies, insurance, software, marketing or financing to licensed contractors in a county.
- **Hiring & vetting** – verify a contractor's license number, status and expiry before signing.
- **Market research** – count licensed roofers or pool builders per county.
- **CRM enrichment** – add license status/expiry to existing contractor lists.

### Input

| Field | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| `licenseTypes` | `["0603"]` | Certified Roofing Contractor. See dropdown for all codes. |
| `county` | `Sarasota` | Any Florida county; empty = statewide |
| `city` | `Venice` | optional |
| `searchTerms` | `["roof"]` | keep only names containing a term |
| `activeOnly` | `true` | only "Current, Active" |
| `maxResults` | `100` | |
| `sources` | `["dbpr"]` | `sunbiz` = experimental entity-name search (see limitations) |

### Example output (real, Sarasota County, Certified Roofing)

```json
{"source":"dbpr","licenseType":"Certified Roofing Contractor","name":"911 ROOFING AND CONSTRUCTION CORP","nameType":"DBA","licenseNumber":"CCC1334102","rank":"Cert Roofing","status":"Current, Active","expires":"08/31/2028","street":"1926 ROLLING GREEN CIRCLE","city":"SARASOTA","state":"FL","zip":"34240","county":"Sarasota","mainAddress":"1926 ROLLING GREEN CIRCLE SARASOTA, FL 34240","detailUrl":"https://www.myfloridalicense.com/LicenseDetail.asp?SID=&id=371B9E8828551F2E6FE195294C121526"}
```

### Pricing (pay-per-event)

- `actor-start` – $0.005 per run
- `result` – $0.0025 per record (**$2.50 per 1,000 leads**)

### Notes & limitations

- Data is public record from the Florida DBPR; it does not include phone numbers or emails.
- DBPR's server is slow and returns intermittent errors; the Actor retries automatically with backoff and rate-limits itself (~1 request / 1.5–2.5 s). Expect ~1,000 records per 10–15 minutes.
- The live Sunbiz website search (`sunbiz-search`) sits behind a Cloudflare browser check and is usually refused; use `sunbiz-daily` instead.
- Use responsibly and comply with Florida public-records and anti-spam (CAN-SPAM/TCPA) laws.

### NEW: Sunbiz new business filings (official daily data)

Source `sunbiz-daily` reads the Florida Department of State's official free daily corporate data files (new corporations, LLCs, LPs filed each work day) and returns: document number, name, status, entity type, filing date, principal & mailing address, FEI number, registered agent, and up to 6 officers/managers with addresses.

Filters: `dateFrom`/`dateTo` (file dates), `zipPresets` (`sarasota-area`), `zipCodes`, `cities`, `entityTypes` (e.g. `FLAL` = Florida LLC), `searchTerms`, `activeOnly`, `maxResults`.

Example input – this week's new LLCs in Sarasota County:

```json
{"sources":["sunbiz-daily"],"zipPresets":["sarasota-area"],"entityTypes":["FLAL"],"maxResults":200}
```

Notes: daily files exist only for state work days and are usually posted the next day. The state file has no county field, so location filtering uses ZIP/city. `filingDate` is the formation/effective date recorded by the state (it can be later than the file date).
