## Pricing

from $0.35 / 1,000 repositories

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## GitHub Repositories Scraper — Search, Trending & Stars

Scrape **GitHub repositories** by **search** (full GitHub syntax: `language:`, `stars:>`, `topic:`, `pushed:>`, `org:`...), the **Trending** page (today, this week, this month, any language) or repository URLs: stars, forks, watchers, language, topics, license, homepage, open issues, size, created / updated / last push dates and owner. Turn on **owner profile** to add the owner's **public email, website, company, location, X handle, followers and bio**.

Built for **developer-tool marketing and DevRel outreach**, **open-source market research**, **tech trend tracking** and **investor scouting**.

### Why this one

- **The real GitHub search syntax**, up to 1,000 repositories per search.
- **Trending with rank and stars gained** in the period.
- **Owner contacts** for outreach (only what owners made public).
- **Works without a token**: when GitHub rate-limits, it rotates IPs. Add your own token for maximum speed.

### Input

Popular Python LLM projects and this week's trending Python repositories, with owner profiles:

```json
{
  "searchQueries": ["topic:llm language:python stars:>500"],
  "sortBy": "stars",
  "maxReposPerSearch": 300,
  "trending": true,
  "trendingLanguages": ["python"],
  "trendingPeriod": "weekly",
  "includeOwnerProfile": true
}
```

### Output

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `fullName`, `name`, `url`, `description`, `homepage` | repository |
| `stars`, `forks`, `watchers`, `openIssues`, `sizeKB` | popularity |
| `language`, `topics`, `license`, `isFork`, `isArchived`, `isTemplate`, `defaultBranch` | details |
| `createdAt`, `updatedAt`, `pushedAt` | activity |
| `owner`, `ownerType`, `ownerUrl` | owner |
| `ownerName`, `ownerEmail`, `ownerBlog`, `ownerCompany`, `ownerLocation`, `ownerTwitter`, `ownerFollowers`, `ownerBio` | owner profile mode |
| `trendingRank`, `trendingPeriod`, `periodStars` | trending results |
| `source` | search, trending or input |

### Example output

One real item from a test run (long texts and lists shortened):

```json
{
  "type": "repo",
  "fullName": "sansan0/TrendRadar",
  "name": "TrendRadar",
  "url": "https://github.com/sansan0/TrendRadar",
  "description": "⭐AI-driven public opinion & trend monitor with multi-platform aggregation, RSS, and smart alerts.🎯 告别信息过载，你的 AI 舆情监控助手与热点筛选工具！聚合多平台热点 +  RSS 订阅，支持关键词精准筛选。AI ...",
  "homepage": "https://trendradar.sandev.cc",
  "language": "Python",
  "topics": [
    "ai",
    "bark",
    "data-analysis"
  ],
  "stars": 63366,
  "forks": 24923,
  "watchers": 63366,
  "openIssues": 34,
  "license": "GPL-3.0",
  "sizeKB": 34052,
  "isFork": false,
  "isArchived": false,
  "isTemplate": true,
  "defaultBranch": "master",
  "createdAt": "2025-04-28T11:42:16Z",
  "updatedAt": "2026-11-02T16:53:48Z",
  "pushedAt": "2026-10-29T11:41:00Z",
  "owner": "sansan0",
  "ownerType": "User",
  "ownerUrl": "https://github.com/sansan0",
  "source": "search: topic:llm language:python stars:>500"
}
```

### Tips

- For more than 1,000 results, split the search by stars (`stars:500..1000`, `stars:>1000`) or by date (`created:2025-01-01..2025-06-30`).

### Feedback

Found a problem or need a field? Open an issue in the **Issues** tab: every issue is read and answered. If the actor helped you, a review on the Store helps a lot.

### How much does it cost?

You pay only for results delivered, at a fixed price per item. **Apify platform usage is included** in that price, so there are no compute costs on top. Errors and items that couldn't be found are free.

| What you get | Price | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Repository with owner profile | $0.0015 each | 1,000 repositories with owner profile = $1.50 |
| Repository | $0.0005 each | 1,000 repositories = $0.50 |

The Apify **Free plan includes $5 of monthly credit**, enough for about **3,333 repositories with owner profile** per month at no cost. You can also set a maximum spend per run.

On paid Apify plans it gets cheaper automatically: **10% off on Starter, 20% on Scale and 30% on Business**.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

GitHub search syntax, e.g. 'web scraper language:python', 'topic:llm stars:>1000', 'pushed:>2026-01-01 language:rust'.

## `sortBy` (type: `string`):

Order of search results.

## `maxReposPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

GitHub returns up to 1,000 results per search; split by stars or date ranges for more.

## `trending` (type: `boolean`):

Add the repositories on GitHub Trending (all languages, or the languages below).

## `trendingLanguages` (type: `array`):

e.g. 'python', 'typescript', 'rust'. Leave empty for all languages.

## `trendingPeriod` (type: `string`):

Trending time window.

## `repositories` (type: `array`):

owner/name or GitHub URLs.

## `includeOwnerProfile` (type: `boolean`):

Add the owner's name, public email, website, company, location, X handle, followers and bio.

## `githubToken` (type: `string`):

A personal access token (no scopes needed) for 5,000 API calls per hour. Without it, the actor rotates proxies when GitHub rate-limits.

## `proxy` (type: `object`):

Used only when GitHub rate-limits the server IP.
