## Pricing

from $0.70 / 1,000 article (real url + metadata)s

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google News Scraper — real article URLs & full text

Monitor **Google News** for any keyword, in **any country and language**, and get clean article data:

- the **real publisher URL** (not the `news.google.com/rss/articles/...` redirect most scrapers return),
- title, source, publication date and snippet,
- optionally the **full article text** and author, extracted from the publisher's page.

Ideal for brand monitoring, PR tracking, market intelligence, feeding LLMs/RAG with fresh news, and media research.

### Why this one

- **Real URLs**: each Google News link is resolved to the publisher's address. In our tests, 40 of 40 links resolved.
- **Full text on demand**: main article text and author, ready for summarization or analysis. You only pay the full-text price when the text was actually extracted.
- **Any market**: `language: "pt-BR", country: "BR"`, `"de"/"DE"`, `"en-GB"/"GB"`... plus **top headlines** of each country.
- **Time filters**: last hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 30 days or a year.
- **Search operators**: `"exact phrase"`, `OR`, `-exclude`, `site:reuters.com`.

### Input

```json
{
  "queries": ["openai", "\"electric vehicles\" site:reuters.com"],
  "language": "en-US",
  "country": "US",
  "timeRange": "1d",
  "maxArticlesPerQuery": 100,
  "fetchFullText": true
}
```

### Output (one item per article)

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `query`, `title`, `source`, `sourceUrl` | what was searched, headline and publisher |
| `publishedAt` | ISO date (UTC) |
| `description` | snippet from Google News |
| `url` | real publisher URL |
| `googleNewsUrl` | original Google News link |
| `text`, `wordCount`, `author`, `image` | with `fetchFullText` |
| `urlError`, `fullTextError` | why a URL or text could not be obtained |

### Example output

One real item from a test run (long texts and lists shortened):

```json
{
  "query": "artificial intelligence",
  "title": "OpenAI says teen ChatGPT use limited but research finds it an 'unacceptable risk'",
  "source": "BBC",
  "sourceUrl": "https://www.bbc.com",
  "publishedAt": "2026-10-07T20:21:58+00:00",
  "description": "OpenAI says teen ChatGPT use limited but research finds it an 'unacceptable risk' BBC",
  "googleNewsUrl": "https://news.google.com/rss/articles/CBMiW0FVX3lxTE5VQjdvVUZMXzVVUHE0TDExcHh2ejJWYnJFazh4QTVYSjFfQkcwU21KVjJvRUs4VktZbnpkNzVhSzNhMzZteHp2QnhxTDBXbHB2TWNNYVFo...",
  "language": "en-US",
  "country": "US",
  "url": "https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cwz0vrmxkvy4o"
}
```

### Limits

- Google News returns **up to 100 articles per query**. For more, split by time range or add related queries.
- Some publishers block bots or sit behind paywalls (e.g. NYT, Bloomberg): you still get the URL and metadata, and those items are charged at the basic price.

### How much does it cost?

You pay only for results delivered, at a fixed price per item. **Apify platform usage is included** in that price, so there are no compute costs on top. Errors and items that couldn't be found are free.

| What you get | Price | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Article with full text | $0.003 each | 1,000 article with full texts = $3.00 |
| Article (real URL + metadata) | $0.001 each | 1,000 article (real url + metadata)s = $1.00 |

The Apify **Free plan includes $5 of monthly credit**, enough for about **1,666 article with full texts** per month at no cost. You can also set a maximum spend per run.

On paid Apify plans it gets cheaper automatically: **10% off on Starter, 20% on Scale and 30% on Business**.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

Keywords as you would type in Google News. Supports operators like "exact phrase", OR, -exclude, site:reuters.com.

## `maxArticlesPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Google News returns up to 100 articles per query. Use several queries or time ranges for more.

## `fetchFullText` (type: `boolean`):

Two-letter country code, e.g. US, GB, BR, DE, IN.

## `topHeadlines` (type: `boolean`):

Adds the current top stories for the chosen country and language.

## `decodeUrls` (type: `boolean`):

Converts each news.google.com link into the publisher's real URL.

## `proxy` (type: `object`):

Used automatically if Google rate-limits the server IP.

## Actor input object example

```json
  "queries": [
    "artificial intelligence"
  ],
  "maxArticlesPerQuery": 50,
  "fetchFullText": false,
  "language": "en-US",
  "topHeadlines": false,
  "decodeUrls": true,
  "proxy": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `articles` (type: `string`):

One item per article with real URL, source, date and optional full text.
