## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## JobScore Jobs Search Scraper

This Actor extracts public JobScore career-board jobs from Atom feeds and their public detail pages. It does not log in, submit applications, use cookies, or access private applicant data.

### Modes

Search a public board/feed and enrich the bounded result set:

```json
{
  "mode": "search",
  "feedUrls": [{"url": "https://hire.jobscore.com/jobs/jobscore/feed.atom"}],
  "maxItems": 5,
  "requestDelayMs": 250
}
```

Detail enrichment is mandatory. Use `mode: "single"` with one `jobUrl` or one-item `jobUrls`, or `mode: "multiple"` with several `jobUrls`. `careerUrls`, `companySlugs`, and direct URL aliases remain supported. A text `query` filters title, company, department, location, employment type, description, and structured sections.

### Output

Job records include stable IDs, canonical/source URLs, company website/profile/logo, department, location, employment type, Atom dates/categories, plain text and HTML description, headed responsibilities/requirements/benefits, hiring-team profiles, image/video URLs, application URL/provider, record status, and field-quality metadata. Request receipts and run diagnostics are stored only in KVS. Empty optional fields are omitted. Application URLs are reported only; they are never followed or submitted.

### Local development

```powershell
npm ci
npm test
npm run lint
apify validate-schema
$store = 'storage-jobscore-validation'
if (Test-Path $store) { throw "Refusing to reuse existing local store: $store" }
$env:APIFY_LOCAL_STORAGE_DIR = $store
apify run --resurrect --input-file INPUT.json
npm run validate -- $store\datasets\default
```

The checked-in `INPUT.json`, `INPUT-single.json`, and `INPUT-multiple.json` files provide bounded local smoke scenarios. Each validation run uses a fresh relative local-store directory; existing Actor data is not purged or reused. Only ordinary public responses are used.

### Cloud and quality contract

The same bounded contract runs locally and on Apify Cloud. The Actor follows each candidate to its public JobScore detail page and emits only complete jobs with stable identity, company, location, a substantial description, and more than 20 populated meaningful source fields. “About Us” and “The Opportunity” are exposed as separate company/role overviews, and “Nice to Have” content is kept separate from benefits. Platform status is `SUCCEEDED` or `FAILED`; `resultStatus` independently reports `COMPLETE`, `LIMITED`, `SKIPPED`, `DEFERRED`, `NO_DATA`, or `FAILED`. HTTP 401/403/429/451 or a visible source-authored denial/challenge stops requests and discards buffered jobs as `SUCCEEDED/SKIPPED`; transport failures and unresolved redirects are deferred without being described as source blocks. A fatal zero-row failure calls `Actor.fail()` as `FAILED/FAILED`; a later non-block error after stored rows preserves them as `SUCCEEDED/LIMITED`. Requests are sequential and direct HTTPS with no proxy, cookies, user-agent override, or unbounded redirect following. A single redirect is followed only when its destination remains on an explicitly allowed public JobScore feed/job route; each hop is retained as its own single-attempt KVS receipt. Fetch or parse diagnostics never mix with job rows.

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

Search public feeds, fetch one direct public job page, or fetch multiple direct public job pages.

## `feedUrls` (type: `array`):

Public Atom feed URLs published by JobScore career boards, for example https://hire.jobscore.com/jobs/jobscore/feed.atom.

## `careerUrls` (type: `array`):

Public JobScore career-board URLs such as https://careers.jobscore.com/careers/jobscore; their source-published Atom feed link is used.

## `companySlugs` (type: `array`):

JobScore career-board slugs used to build public Atom feed URLs.

## `jobUrls` (type: `array`):

Public JobScore job-detail URLs to fetch directly. Detail enrichment is always required.

## `jobUrl` (type: `string`):

Alias for one direct public JobScore job page.

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Alias for direct public JobScore job pages.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum unique job records written across all feeds and direct job URLs.

## `timeoutMs` (type: `integer`):

Maximum time allowed for each public feed or job-page request.

## `query` (type: `string`):

Case-insensitive filter over title, company, department, location, type, description, and section text.

## `requestDelayMs` (type: `integer`):

Optional polite delay before later requests.

## `maxResponseBytes` (type: `integer`):

Maximum accepted body size for each official JobScore response.
