## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Flipkart Review Scraper - API Based

### What does Flipkart Review Scraper do?

Flipkart Review Scraper collects publicly visible product information and customer reviews from Flipkart product pages. Enter a product URL and the Actor requests the product review API, follows the requested number of review pages, removes duplicate review IDs, and stores clean JSON records in the default dataset. The result is useful for product research, sentiment analysis, catalog enrichment, competitor monitoring, and customer-feedback reporting.

The Actor can save both a `product_info` record and individual `review` records. Review records may include the reviewer name, star rating, review title and text, date, verified-buyer flag, location, helpful votes, product attributes, attached images, and the review URL. Product records may include the product title, rating summary, price, availability, key specifications, and product images.

### Why use this Actor?

- Collect structured review data instead of parsing HTML manually.
- Filter reviews by minimum star rating.
- Choose most helpful, most recent, positive-first, or negative-first ordering.
- Limit the number of pages to control runtime and dataset size.
- Use Apify Proxy when requests need more reliable access to Flipkart endpoints.
- Download the results as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML, or RSS from the dataset view.

### Input

The required `productUrl` must be a public Flipkart product URL. The other fields are optional:

| Field | Type | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `productUrl` | string | Flipkart product URL to process. |
| `maxPages` | integer | Maximum review pages to request; approximately ten reviews per page. |
| `sortOrder` | string | `MOST_HELPFUL`, `MOST_RECENT`, `POSITIVE_FIRST`, or `NEGATIVE_FIRST`. |
| `minRating` | number | Minimum rating from 0 to 5. Use 0 to keep all ratings. |
| `includeProductInfo` | boolean | Adds one product summary record when available. |
| `useProxy` | boolean | Enables Apify Proxy for requests. |
| `proxyConfig` | object | Optional Apify Proxy configuration. Indian residential routing is recommended for Flipkart access. |

Example input:

```json
{
  "productUrl": "https://www.flipkart.com/samsung-guru-music-2-b310ed/p/itmc77fb727f1cf5?pid=MOBHDFT9GTFDDXP6",
  "maxPages": 2,
  "sortOrder": "MOST_HELPFUL",
  "minRating": 0,
  "includeProductInfo": true,
  "useProxy": true
}
```

### Output

Each dataset item has a `type` of either `product_info` or `review`. A review item looks like this:

```json
{
  "type": "review",
  "id": "review-id",
  "author": "Customer name",
  "rating": 5,
  "title": "Good product",
  "text": "The product works as expected.",
  "created": "2024-01-15",
  "certifiedBuyer": true,
  "location": { "city": "Bengaluru", "state": "Karnataka" },
  "helpfulCount": 12,
  "upvotes": 12,
  "downvotes": 1,
  "productAttributes": [],
  "images": [],
  "reviewUrl": "https://www.flipkart.com/"
}
```

### How to use

1. Open the Actor's **Input** tab.
2. Paste a Flipkart product URL.
3. Select the page limit, sort order, and rating filter.
4. Click **Start**.
5. Open the run's default dataset to inspect or export the results.

### Tips and limitations

Keep `maxPages` modest for quick tests. Flipkart can rate-limit or change API responses, so proxy use is recommended for production runs. If a product has no accessible review data, the run may finish with an empty dataset. Only submit URLs and collect information that you are permitted to process, and respect Flipkart's terms, robots directives, and applicable laws.

### FAQ, disclaimers, and support

This Actor accesses publicly available web data. It does not bypass authentication, paywalls, or private accounts. You are responsible for using the output lawfully, respecting third-party rights, and complying with Flipkart's terms of service. Do not use the Actor to collect sensitive personal information or to make decisions about individuals. For a reproducible issue, include the Actor run URL, input (without secrets), timestamp, and relevant log lines in the Actor's **Issues** tab. You can also use the **API** tab to integrate the Actor into an approved workflow.

# Actor input Schema

## `productUrl` (type: `string`):

Flipkart product URL to scrape reviews from (e.g., 'https://www.flipkart.com/samsung-guru-music-2-b310ed/p/itmc77fb727f1cf5?pid=MOBHDFT9GTFDDXP6')

## `maxPages` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of review pages to fetch (approximately 10 reviews per page)

## `sortOrder` (type: `string`):

Sort order for reviews

## `minRating` (type: `number`):

Minimum star rating (0-5) to include reviews. Set to 0 for no filter.
