## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Greenhouse Job Board API & Jobs Scraper - Live Data

**A Greenhouse job board API for any company: get every open job from Greenhouse boards, fetched live when your run starts.** Greenhouse is the applicant tracking system used by thousands of tech companies and startups. Paste one or many board URLs and get each board's full list of open jobs as clean JSON, CSV or Excel.

- **Live, not a stale database.** Each run reads the boards at run time, so you get what is open right now, including jobs posted minutes ago.
- **Same schema as the [JobsPipe API](https://docs.jobspipe.dev).** Every row is the exact job object the JobsPipe API returns: normalized title, seniority, location, salary in USD and full description. The same code works for Greenhouse, every other source, and the API.
- **Pay only for jobs delivered.** Boards that do not exist or cannot be read return one error row, which is never charged.

Also searched as: `greenhouse job board api`, `greenhouse jobs api`, `greenhouse api`, `greenhouse job postings`, `greenhouse scraper`, `boards.greenhouse.io jobs`.

### Use case: track a list of companies

Have a list of target accounts, competitors or portfolio companies on Greenhouse? Paste all their board URLs into **Greenhouse board URLs or slugs (job-boards.greenhouse.io)** and schedule the Actor daily. You get every open role per company, with title, location and pay, ready for a CRM, Clay, a spreadsheet or a hiring-signal alert. Boards are fetched five at a time, so a list of hundreds of companies finishes quickly.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Greenhouse board URLs or slugs (job-boards.greenhouse.io)** (`startUrls`) | One Greenhouse board per line: `job-boards.greenhouse.io/<company>`, `boards.greenhouse.io/<company>`, or just the company slug |
| **Max jobs per board** (`maxJobsPerUrl`) | Stop reading a board after this many jobs (default 1,000) |
| **Max jobs in total** (`maxJobs`) | Stop the whole run after this many jobs (default 5,000) |
| **Include full job descriptions** (`includeDescriptions`) | Untick for faster runs without the description text |

```json
{
  "startUrls": [
    "https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/stripe",
    "https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/airbnb"
  ],
  "maxJobsPerUrl": 1000,
  "maxJobs": 5000,
  "includeDescriptions": true
}
```

### Output

One dataset item per job. The **Jobs**, **Salaries**, **Companies hiring** and **Recruiter contacts** tabs show different columns of the same data. Main fields:

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `id` | Stable JobsPipe job id, the same one the JobsPipe API returns |
| `job_title` | Title as posted |
| `company` / `company_domain` | Employer name and website domain where known |
| `url` | Link to the posting a person can open |
| `location` / `country_code` / `cities` | Location as posted, ISO country code and parsed cities |
| `remote` / `work_arrangement` | Remote flag and remote / hybrid / on-site where stated |
| `date_posted` | Posting date (YYYY-MM-DD) |
| `seniority` / `employment_statuses` | Normalized seniority and employment type |
| `salary_string` | Pay as written in the posting |
| `min_annual_salary_usd` / `max_annual_salary_usd` | Posted pay converted to annual USD |
| `estimated_min_annual_salary_usd` / `estimated_max_annual_salary_usd` | Benchmark pay estimate when the posting has none |
| `description` | Full job description (untick "Include full job descriptions" to skip it) |
| `skills` / `benefits` / `visa_sponsorship` | Skills, benefits and visa stance read from the posting |
| `recruiter_emails` | Recruiter emails, only where the posting publishes them |
| `sources` | The board this job was fetched from |

Fields a posting does not publish are `null`. The full field list is in the [JobsPipe API docs](https://docs.jobspipe.dev).

**History fields are null on live results.** `closed_at` and `ghost_score` need a posting's history over time (when it closed, how long it has been reposted), which a live fetch cannot know. Use the [JobsPipe API](https://docs.jobspipe.dev) if you need them.

A board that could not be read adds one row like this, and the row is not charged. `error` is one of `bad_board`, `board_not_found`, `bad_request`, `upstream_unavailable`, `timeout`, `network` or `busy`. If a board fails part-way, the jobs already delivered from it are kept (and charged) and the error row says why the rest is missing.

```json
{
  "error": "board_not_found",
  "board": "no-such-company",
  "message": "This board does not exist or has no public jobs."
}
```

### Pricing

**$2.00 per 1,000 jobs** ($0.20 per 100). You pay only for jobs delivered to your dataset; error rows and empty runs are free. The run stops at your job limit or your spending limit, whichever comes first. Apify bills the platform usage of the run separately; at 256 MB that is a few cents at most.

### Integrations

- **Apify API and SDKs**: start runs and read datasets from any language (see the **API** tab).
- **n8n, Make, Zapier, Clay, Google Sheets, Slack, webhooks**: send new jobs wherever you need them.
- **AI agents**: available through the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com).

### FAQ

**Is there a Greenhouse jobs API?** Greenhouse publishes a public Job Board API, one company board at a time, in Greenhouse's own format. This Actor gives you one API for Greenhouse jobs across every company: start it from the Apify API with the boards you want and read every open job back as JSON, in the same JobsPipe schema as every other source. No Greenhouse account or API key is needed.

**How do I scrape Greenhouse jobs?** Paste the boards into **Greenhouse board URLs or slugs (job-boards.greenhouse.io)**, start the run, and every open job on each board arrives as one dataset row. Download it as JSON, CSV or Excel, read it through the Apify API, or schedule the Actor to keep the list current.

**Which Greenhouse URLs work?** Paste `job-boards.greenhouse.io/<company>`, `boards.greenhouse.io/<company>`, or just the company slug, one board per line. Each board is read in full, up to **Max jobs per board**.

**How fresh is the data?** Live. Every run fetches the jobs when it starts, so you get what is listed at that moment, not a copy from days ago.

**Is it legal?** The Actor reads publicly listed job postings. It does not log in anywhere or collect private profiles. Make sure your use of the data complies with the laws that apply to you, such as GDPR.

**Something is wrong or missing?** Open an issue in the **Issues** tab and we will look into it.
