## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Telegram Channel Scraper — Posts, Views & Media (No Login)

Scrape **public Telegram channels** — message text, view counts, publish time, media, forwards, replies and links — without logging in, without an API key and without a browser.

Every row is normalized, de-duplicated and carries provenance, ready for spreadsheets, databases, dashboards or LLM pipelines.

### What you get

- **Any public channel** by username, `@handle` or URL.
- **Full history pagination** — walks back through the channel's messages (not just the latest page).
- **Keyword / hashtag filter** — restrict results to messages matching a term.
- **Rich, normalized fields** — text + HTML, views, publish time, media URLs, forwards, replies, external links, hashtags and mentions.

### Output fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `message_id` / `channel_username` / `channel_title` | Message identity |
| `url` | Canonical message link (`https://t.me/<channel>/<id>`) |
| `published_at` | ISO-8601 UTC publish time |
| `author` | Channel / author name |
| `text` / `text_html` | Plain text and original HTML |
| `views` | View count (K/M suffixes expanded to integers) |
| `media_type` / `media_url` | photo, video, document, voice, audio, sticker, poll, video_note |
| `is_forwarded` / `forwarded_from` | Forward provenance |
| `reply_to_channel` / `reply_to_message_id` | Reply target |
| `links` / `hashtags` / `mentions` | Extracted from the message |
| `schema_version` / `fetched_at` | Provenance |

### Use cases

- **News & OSINT monitoring** — track public channels and wire reports into your own pipeline.
- **Market & sentiment research** — quantify what channels post about and how much reach it gets.
- **Crypto / trading signal feeds** — capture announcement channels in near real time.
- **Content & AI datasets** — clean structured text for analysis, fine-tuning and RAG.

### Input

```json
{
  "channels": ["telegram", "@durov"],
  "filterKeyword": "",
  "maxMessagesPerChannel": 200,
  "onlyNewMessages": false
}
```

### Pricing

**Pay per result.** You are charged only for the messages delivered to your dataset (plus a small per-run fee). No subscription, no minimum.

### Notes

- Uses Telegram's public `t.me/s/` web preview — no login required.
- De-duplicated across channels and optionally **incremental** (`onlyNewMessages`) for scheduled runs.
- Intended for research, monitoring and analytics. Only public channels are supported; use in line with Telegram's terms and applicable law.

### Sample output

```json
{"channel_username": "telegram", "message_id": 441, "text": "Bot-to-Bot Communication...", "views": 1570000, "media_type": "video", "published_at": "2026-05-14T16:08:31+00:00"}
```
