## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Threads Scraper — Posts, Search & Profiles (No Login)

Scrape **Threads (Meta)** posts from **profiles**, **keyword search** and **post threads** — without logging in, without a browser, and without an API key of your own.

Every row is normalized, de-duplicated and carries provenance, so you can drop it straight into a spreadsheet, database, dashboard or LLM pipeline.

### What you get

- **Profile posts** — give one or many usernames (`zuck`, `@threads`, or a full profile URL) and get their recent posts.
- **Keyword / hashtag search** — search the Threads firehose by term (`"ai agents"`, `"#buildinpublic"`), sorted by **top** or **recent**.
- **Post threads** — give a post URL and get the post plus its reply thread.
- **Rich, normalized fields** — text, hashtags, mentions, engagement counts, media, language, author details and timestamps.

### Output fields

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `post_id` / `strong_id` / `code` | Threads post identifiers |
| `url` | Canonical post URL |
| `author_username` / `author_full_name` / `author_id` | Post author |
| `author_is_verified` / `author_followers_count` / `author_biography` | Author metadata (followers/bio on profile scrapes) |
| `text` | Full post text (links and @mentions reconstructed) |
| `language` | Detected language |
| `created_at` / `created_at_epoch` | ISO-8601 UTC + epoch of posting time |
| `like_count` / `reply_count` / `repost_count` / `quote_count` / `reshare_count` | Engagement metrics |
| `is_reply` / `is_ghost_post` / `is_paid_partnership` / `audience` | Post flags |
| `media_type` / `image_url` / `video_url` / `carousel_media` | Media (image, video, carousel) |
| `hashtags` / `mentions` | Extracted tags and handles |
| `source_type` / `source_input` / `source_url` / `position` | Provenance |
| `schema_version` / `fetched_at` | Provenance |

### Use cases

- **Social listening & brand monitoring** — track mentions, hashtags and competitor accounts.
- **Trend & topic research** — quantify what's being said, by whom, and how it resonates.
- **Influencer & creator discovery** — find active creators by vertical and engagement.
- **AI / LLM datasets** — clean, structured text for fine-tuning and RAG.
- **Lead generation** — surface accounts talking about your category.

### Input

```json
{
  "profiles": ["zuck", "@threads"],
  "searchQueries": ["ai agents", "#buildinpublic"],
  "postUrls": ["https://www.threads.com/@zuck/post/DPzQH1TjXoZ"],
  "searchType": "top",
  "excludeReplies": false,
  "maxItemsPerInput": 1000
}
```

All inputs are optional — mix and match. At least one profile, query or post URL is recommended.

### Pricing

**Pay per result.** You are charged only for the posts delivered to your dataset (plus a small per-run fee). No subscription, no minimum.

### Notes

- Fast: no headless browser is launched — data is parsed from the server-rendered responses.
- De-duplicated across all inputs in a run, and optionally **incremental** (`onlyNewPosts`) so repeated runs only return new posts.
- Intended for research, monitoring and analytics. You are responsible for using it in compliance with Meta's terms and applicable laws.

### Sample output

```json
{"author_username": "zuck", "text": "Introducing Muse Wonder...", "like_count": 1978, "reply_count": 337, "repost_count": 154, "created_at": "2026-10-12T16:56:29+00:00", "url": "https://www.threads.com/@zuck/post/DeZtp-TkQHh"}
```
