## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Greenhouse Jobs Scraper: Fresh, Deduplicated ATS Job Feed

A job feed for recruiting and HR tech teams, built from employers' own career boards on Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby. Every job comes in one schema with a stable `dedupKey`, publish date and apply URL. Turn on `onlyNewJobs` and schedule it daily to get only postings you have not seen before.

Data comes from the official public job board APIs these ATS platforms provide for careers pages. Not LinkedIn or Indeed scraping, no login, no proxy.

**Built for**

- **Job boards and aggregators:** a fresh, deduplicated feed of new postings from the employers you list
- **Recruiting and sourcing tools:** new openings at target companies, with department, location, remote flag and salary when published
- **Hiring signals for HR tech and sales:** see when an employer opens roles in a team or city, from the employer's own board
- **Labor market and comp research:** pay ranges where companies publish them

### Pricing

**$1.00 per 1,000 jobs returned.** No tool subscription or start fee. Jobs removed by your filters, duplicates and previously seen jobs are not charged.

50 companies with an average of 120 open jobs is 6,000 jobs, so $6.00. Filter by keyword or location to pay only for the jobs you want.

### Quick start

1. Add company slugs or career board URLs to `companies`.
2. Set keyword, location or remote filters. Set `maxJobs` to cap results.
3. Press **Start**. Export JSON, CSV or Excel, or retrieve the dataset through the API.

### Example input

Daily feed of new engineering and sales jobs:

```json
{
  "companies": ["airbnb", "lever:spotify", "ashby:ramp"],
  "keywords": ["engineer", "sales"],
  "onlyNewJobs": true,
  "stateKey": "eng-sales-feed"
}
```

### Fresh and deduplicated

- **Deduplicated:** each job is returned once per run, keyed by ATS, board and job ID (`dedupKey`), even if the same company is listed twice.
- **Only new jobs:** with `onlyNewJobs` on, the Actor saves returned job keys in a named key-value store (`ats-jobs-seen`) in your own Apify account and skips them next time. Use `stateKey` to keep separate feeds.
- **Freshness filter:** `postedWithinDays` keeps jobs published in the last N days.
- **Run summary:** the `SUMMARY` record shows jobs per company, duplicates removed and previously seen jobs skipped.

### Output

```json
{
  "company": "ramp",
  "ats": "ashby",
  "boardSlug": "ramp",
  "jobId": "34413f8d-26bf-4bbc-8ade-eb309a0e2245",
  "title": "Security Engineer, Cloud",
  "location": "New York, NY (HQ); Remote (Canada); Remote (US); Miami, FL",
  "isRemote": true,
  "department": "Engineering, Backend",
  "employmentType": "FullTime",
  "salary": "$211.4K - $290.6K, Offers Equity",
  "publishedAt": "2026-04-07T17:12:35.753+00:00",
  "url": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp/34413f8d-...",
  "applyUrl": "https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp/34413f8d-.../application",
  "dedupKey": "ashby:ramp:34413f8d-26bf-4bbc-8ade-eb309a0e2245",
  "descriptionText": "ABOUT RAMP ...",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-11-08T14:42:16.216Z"
}
```

A `SUMMARY` record in the key-value store lists jobs per company, inputs with no board, duplicates removed and previously seen jobs skipped.

Export as JSON, CSV or Excel, or connect to Google Sheets, Make, Zapier or n8n. Schedule it daily to get a fresh feed.

### Input options

| Field | Default | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| `companies` | required | Slugs or careers URLs. Examples: `airbnb`, `greenhouse:stripe`, `lever:spotify`, `ashby:ramp`, `https://jobs.lever.co/spotify`, `https://job-boards.greenhouse.io/figma`, `https://jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp` |
| `keywords` | none | Keep jobs whose title contains any of these words |
| `locations` | none | Keep jobs whose location contains any of these strings |
| `remoteOnly` | false | Keep only remote jobs |
| `postedWithinDays` | none | Keep only jobs published in the last N days |
| `onlyNewJobs` | false | Return only jobs not returned by this feed before |
| `stateKey` | default | Feed name for saved job keys when `onlyNewJobs` is on |
| `includeDescription` | true | Add the description as plain text and HTML |
| `maxJobsPerCompany` | 1000 | Cap per company |
| `maxJobs` | 10000 | Cap for the whole run |

#### How to find a company's slug

- Greenhouse: `job-boards.greenhouse.io/{slug}` or `boards.greenhouse.io/{slug}`, or a `gh_jid=` parameter on the company's job links
- Lever: `jobs.lever.co/{slug}`
- Ashby: `jobs.ashbyhq.com/{slug}`

You can paste those URLs directly.

### API and integrations

Call `johto.data/ats-jobs-scraper` through the [Apify API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2) or [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com). Use the input above as the request body.

- **Official public APIs only.** Data comes from the job board APIs that Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby provide for public careers pages. No login, no browser, no proxy. Greenhouse's docs state that job board data is publicly available and GET endpoints need no authentication.
- **One schema for three ATS platforms.** Same fields whether the job came from Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby.
- **Auto-detect.** Pass a plain company slug and the Actor tries Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby in turn.

### Limits

- Only companies that use Greenhouse, Lever or Ashby are covered. Other ATS platforms (Workday, SmartRecruiters and others) are not supported yet.
- Salary appears only when the company publishes it through its board.

### Use with AI agents and automation

**Apify MCP server (Claude, Cursor, ChatGPT, any MCP client).** Add `https://mcp.apify.com?tools=johto.data/ats-jobs-scraper` as a remote MCP server. The agent gets one tool that takes the input below and returns one row per job with `title`, `location`, `isRemote`, `salary` and `applyUrl`.

**API, one call.** Runs and returns the dataset in the same request:

```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/johto.data~ats-jobs-scraper/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=$APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"companies":["airbnb","lever:spotify","ashby:ramp"],"maxJobsPerCompany":50}'
```

**LangChain (Python).**

```python
from langchain_apify import ApifyActorsTool
tool = ApifyActorsTool("johto.data/ats-jobs-scraper")
```

**n8n, Make, Zapier.** Use the Apify app or node, choose **Run Actor**, enter `johto.data/ats-jobs-scraper` and paste the input JSON. Then map dataset fields into Sheets, a CRM or a database.

### FAQ

**How does the price compare?** $1.00 per 1,000 jobs with no start fee. Comparable Store actors list $1.50 to $2.00 per 1,000 jobs (checked Nov 8, 2026).

**How do I find a company's board?** Paste the careers URL (`jobs.lever.co/...`, `job-boards.greenhouse.io/...`, `jobs.ashbyhq.com/...`) or just the company slug and the Actor auto-detects the ATS.

**Can I get only new jobs?** Yes. Turn on `onlyNewJobs`, give the feed a `stateKey` and schedule a daily run. Each run returns only jobs that feed has not returned before.

**Is this LinkedIn data?** No. Jobs come from employers' own Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby boards through their public job board APIs.

**How long does a run take?** The prefilled input (3 companies) finishes in about 7 seconds.

### Responsible use

Use boards you manage or have permission to ingest and reuse for your intended purpose. Greenhouse, Lever and Ashby document public job-board APIs. That documents access, not a blanket license to resell employers' posting text. Check the employer's terms and rights before commercial aggregation or republication.

Sources: [Greenhouse Job Board API](https://docs.greenhouse.io/job-board), [Lever Postings API](https://github.com/lever/postings-api), [Ashby Job Postings API](https://developers.ashbyhq.com/docs/public-job-posting-api). Ashby also documents [partner feeds with employer opt-in](https://developers.ashbyhq.com/docs/dedicated-partner-job-feeds).

Respect API limits, source robots rules and access restrictions. Lever's public API robots.txt lists a one-second crawl delay. Do not collect private applicant records or bypass authentication. Job descriptions may contain personal contact details. Do not assume every returned field is non-personal. Keep source and apply links and follow the original listing to check its status.

### Support

Open an issue in the **Issues** tab with the input URL and a description of the problem. Do not include API tokens or private data. Built and maintained by [Johto Data](https://johtodata.com).
