# Image to SVG Vectorizer (`jordan-belfort/image-to-svg-vectorizer`) Actor

Convert PNG, JPG and WebP images into real SVG vector paths. Presets for logos, illustrations, photos and pixel art, black-and-white mode for line art. Batch many URLs; SVG returned inline for agents. $0.01 per image, failures free.

## Pricing

$10.00 / 1,000 converted images

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Image to SVG Vectorizer

Turn PNG, JPG and WebP images into clean, scalable **SVG vector files**. Give it image URLs, get back one SVG per
image: saved as a file and, for agents and API callers, inline in the dataset. Logos, icons, illustrations, line art
and pixel art all work; photos become a posterised vector look.

- **Real vector paths**, not a bitmap wrapped in an SVG: colour layers traced into smooth curves with
  [VTracer](https://github.com/visioncortex/vtracer) (MIT).
- **Presets** for logos, illustrations, photos and pixel art, plus a black-and-white mode for line art,
  stencils, signatures and plotter/vinyl cutting.
- **Batch**: many images in one run; one bad URL doesn't stop the rest, and failed images are never charged.
- **Agent-ready**: the SVG markup comes back in the dataset row (up to 200 KB), so an AI agent calling this through
  the Apify MCP server gets the result in one call.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
| --- | --- |
| `imageUrls` | Public image URLs (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF; up to 25 MB each) |
| `preset` | `logo` (default), `illustration`, `photo` or `pixel-art` |
| `blackAndWhite` | Two-colour trace for line art |
| `maxSide` | Longer side is scaled down to this before tracing (default 2000 px) |
| `includeSvgInDataset` | Put the SVG text in the dataset row (default on) |

```json
{ "imageUrls": ["https://example.com/logo.png"], "preset": "logo" }
```

### Output

One dataset row per image:

```json
{
  "imageUrl": "https://example.com/logo.png",
  "svgUrl": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/.../records/0001-logo.svg",
  "width": 512, "height": 512, "paths": 14, "svgBytes": 46094,
  "svg": "<?xml version=\"1.0\" ...",
  "error": null
}
```

The SVG files are also in the run's key-value store. Export the table as JSON, CSV or Excel.

### Pricing

**$0.01 per converted image** ($10 per 1,000), no subscription. Failed images (unreachable URL, not an image,
too large) cost nothing.

### Use it from an agent (MCP)

Add this remote MCP server to Claude, Cursor, VS Code or any MCP client:

```
https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=jordan-belfort/image-to-svg-vectorizer
```

It exposes this Actor as a single tool. Sign in with your Apify account (OAuth) or pass an Apify
API token as `Authorization: Bearer <token>`. Runs are billed to your account at the price above.

**No Apify account?** An agent with a USDC wallet on Base or Solana can buy a prepaid Apify token over
x402 and call this Actor with it as the bearer token
([Apify x402 docs](https://docs.apify.com/platform/integrations/x402)). This Actor runs with limited
permissions, so a prepaid token works:

```
### Good to know
- Tracing works best on images with clear shapes and a limited palette. Photos come out as stylised vector art,
  not a photographic copy.
- Only convert images you have the rights to. The Actor reads public URLs and stores nothing beyond your run.
- Questions or a bad result? Open an issue on the Issues tab with the image URL; answered within a day.
# Actor input Schema
## `imageUrls` (type: `array`):
Public URLs of the images to convert (PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP, TIFF; up to 25 MB each). One SVG per image.
## `preset` (type: `string`):
Tuning for the kind of image: logo (flat colours, sharp corners), illustration (more colours), photo (smooth, fewer layers), pixel-art (keeps every pixel square).
## `blackAndWhite` (type: `boolean`):
Trace in two colours only (for line art, signatures, stencils, cutting plotters).
## `maxSide` (type: `integer`):
Images with a longer side are scaled down to this many pixels before tracing. Larger = more detail, bigger SVG, slower.
## `includeSvgInDataset` (type: `boolean`):
Put the SVG text in each dataset row (up to 200 KB) so agents and API callers get it without a second request. The file is always saved to the key-value store too.
