## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google News Scraper with Real Article URLs

Search Google News by keyword or topic, in any country and language, and get clean headlines with the **publisher's real article URL** (not the `news.google.com` redirect), source, domain and publication date. No login, no API key, no proxy setup.

### Why the real URL matters

Google News links are redirects that cannot be opened by scrapers, crawlers or AI pipelines. This Actor resolves each one to the actual article address, so you can feed the result straight into your own crawler, database, summariser or alerting tool.

### What you can do with it

- **Media and brand monitoring**: track mentions of a company, product or person daily on a schedule.
- **Market and competitor research**: follow news on a topic, restricted to the last hour, day, week or month.
- **AI and RAG pipelines**: collect fresh, deduplicated article URLs per topic.
- **Local news**: choose any country and language (US, GB, ES, MX, DE, FR...).
- **One publisher only**: add a `site` filter such as `reuters.com`.

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `queries` | Search terms. Google operators work (`"exact phrase"`, `OR`, `-exclude`). |
| `topics` | Optional top-story sections: WORLD, NATION, BUSINESS, TECHNOLOGY, ENTERTAINMENT, SPORTS, SCIENCE, HEALTH. |
| `country`, `language` | Edition of Google News to read. |
| `timeframe` | Past hour, 6 hours, day, week, month or year. |
| `site` | Only articles from this domain. |
| `maxItemsPerQuery` | Up to 100 (Google's limit per query). |
| `resolveUrls` | Turn the redirect into the real article URL (on by default). |

```json
{ "queries": ["openai", "anthropic"], "country": "US", "language": "en", "timeframe": "1d", "maxItemsPerQuery": 50 }
```

### Output

```json
{
  "query": "inteligencia artificial",
  "title": "Inteligencia artificial, pan y circo",
  "url": "https://elpais.com/opinion/2026-09-28/inteligencia-artificial-pan-y-circo.html",
  "urlResolved": true,
  "source": "EL PAÍS",
  "sourceDomain": "elpais.com",
  "publishedAt": "2026-09-28T04:30:00.000Z",
  "snippet": "...",
  "googleLink": "https://news.google.com/rss/articles/..."
}
```

Articles repeated across your queries are returned once. If a link cannot be resolved, you still get the Google link and `urlResolved` is `false`.

### Notes

- Google News returns at most about 100 articles per query. Use several queries or narrower time ranges for more coverage.
- Only headlines, sources, dates and URLs are returned, not the article body. Respect the publishers' terms when you fetch the articles themselves.

### Pricing

Pay per event: a small price per article returned, plus a negligible start fee. See the pricing panel on this page.

# Actor input Schema

## `queries` (type: `array`):

What to search for in Google News. Supports Google operators, e.g. "tesla recall" or openai OR anthropic.

## `topics` (type: `array`):

Google News top-story sections instead of, or in addition to, searches.

## `country` (type: `string`):

Two-letter country code (US, GB, ES, MX, DE...).

## `language` (type: `string`):

Two-letter language code (en, es, de, fr...).

## `timeframe` (type: `string`):

Only articles from this period. Leave empty for no limit.

## `site` (type: `string`):

Restrict to one publisher domain, e.g. reuters.com.

## `maxItemsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Google News returns at most about 100 articles per query.

## `resolveUrls` (type: `boolean`):

Google News links are redirects. When on, each link is converted to the publisher's real URL. Turn off for faster runs.
