## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Reed UK Job Search Export

> **Unofficial** — independent tool, **not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Reed**. It reads only publicly visible pages. Support, reliability guarantees and the full disclaimer are at the bottom of this page.

Export UK job searches from Reed.co.uk into one deduplicated dataset, with full public descriptions, published salary, location, contract type and recruiter fields. Use Apify schedules and dataset integrations to refresh your saved searches.

### Input

`searchUrls` accepts up to five public Reed search URLs. Keep the site's location, salary, date, contract, advertiser, training/survey and remote filters in these URLs. Tracking sid is removed; unsupported or robots-disallowed parameters, including sortBy, fail before retrieval. `keywords` accepts up to five phrases. Omitted keywords adds no extra search when saved URLs are provided; the UI example is data analyst. `location` applies to keyword searches only. Searches form a union, deduplicated by job ID; pasted URL filters are not overwritten. Empty URLs and keywords select the data analyst search. `maxJobs` and `maxJobsPerSearch` default to 100 and allow 1–500. `includeDetails` defaults to true.

### Output

One unique public job row includes source ID/title, advertiser/recruiter organisation, explicit advertiser type, location/country, remote label, native published salary bounds/period/text and flags, source contract/hours, exact source dates, full clean description and original job URL. An agency is not asserted to be the hiring employer. Unknown salary/type values remain null or empty. Competitive, negotiable or DOE salary amounts hidden by the source stay null; only published amounts are exported. With details disabled, opaque nonstandard listing salary descriptions remain unknown. Salary is not estimated or annualized. Source date timestamps without a zone stay unchanged with sourceDateTimezone=unspecified; no UTC suffix is invented. The public job URL is the apply destination fallback and external application pages are never opened. Source rank, reported search total, coverageComplete and outputLimited accompany rows; uncharged SUMMARY records every selected search, inspected page count, emitted jobs, source totals and caps.

### Limits

Public HTML with typed embedded Next page data, no private API, developer key, browser, proxy or login. Traverse normal pageno pages and verify page identity/counts. Default source relevance/placement order only; robots prohibits sortBy, so no newest-order guarantee is offered. Requested caps return an explicit partial export. Up to ten combined searches, 500 unique jobs, 600 requests including robots/retries, 420 seconds, 256 MB, 4 MiB per response, four concurrent detail requests and at least 0.5-second host spacing. The 420-second budget accommodates the full 500-detail workload on cloud infrastructure; it is a hard safety limit and does not guarantee source availability. A detail returning HTTP 410 after a search is a confirmed withdrawn vacancy. Exclude that job and record jobId, HTTP status and reason in uncharged SUMMARY.withdrawnJobs. Set sourceDataIncomplete=true and coverageComplete=false; outputLimited separately describes a user cap, and delivered rows can be below maxJobs. No invented description or charge for excluded vacancies. Other 404 responses fail. Auth/challenge, rate limit, malformed/changed schema, missing pages, repeats, timeout or hard-budget exhaustion fail before charged rows. A verified zero-match search union produces uncharged SUMMARY and an explicit no-matching-jobs failure.

### Privacy

Public vacancy and advertiser organisations only. No candidate state, recruiter contacts, applications, CVs, questionnaire, cookies, tracking metadata, private API or external destination requests. Strip email/phone contacts from descriptions. Keep source attribution and original job links. Reed has its own free developer API requiring a user key; this Actor offers an Apify public-page export with its own contract, and does not claim exclusive source data. Independent tool, unaffiliated with Reed or advertisers.

### Charging

One primary job-exported event is $0.0003 per delivered unique job, including full details. No start, detail, search, summary or notification fees. Before source queries the allowance must cover the requested maxJobs; insufficient allowance fails without silently lowering scope. All required source acquisition validates before paid delivery. Initial price hypothesis; usage statistics do not establish revenue.

### If something goes wrong

- **Wrong number or a failed run?** Open a ticket on the **Issues** tab. I read every one and reply within 2 business days (Japan time).
- **You never get a fake "empty" result.** If the site can't be read, the run fails and says so.
- **Delivered rows only.** One validated unique row is one billable event. Duplicates, summaries, failed acquisition and undelivered rows are not charged.
- **Checked every week.** An automatic test runs this tool weekly; if the site changes, I fix it.
- **Public source data only.** No login or member/applicant records. Contact patterns are screened before delivery; prose may still name people.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchUrls` (type: `array`):

Up to five Reed search URLs with source location, salary, contract, date and remote filters. Runtime rejects forbidden sortBy, API/auth and unsupported query paths; removes sid tracking. Union with keyword searches.

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Up to five phrases transformed into public Reed search routes. Omitted keywords adds no extra search to saved URLs. Only empty input or both source lists empty uses the data analyst fallback.

## `location` (type: `string`):

Optional source location applied to keyword routes only; pasted URL filters are kept.

## `maxJobs` (type: `integer`):

Global unique output cap, 1–500. Larger source totals are declared partial exports.

## `maxJobsPerSearch` (type: `integer`):

Per-search output cap, 1–500. Each selected source is inspected even if global cap is reached.

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Include clean full description, source labelled salary period, contract, expiry and recruiter data.
