## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## UK Companies House Filing Deadline Brief

For an exact UK company number, return a one-row status and displayed filing-date brief for supplier monitoring. A procurement user can ask: Is this known supplier active, and are its next accounts or confirmation statement due soon? This is a register snapshot, not a legal compliance, credit, fraud or transaction recommendation.

### Input

Supply one to three exact eight-character `companyNumbers`, including leading zeroes. Eight digits and official two-letter/six-digit forms are accepted only after exact page identity validation. `dueSoonDays` defaults to 30 and accepts 1–60 calendar days. The default input contains two active test companies.

### Output

One row per exact company with its public name and status; displayed next accounts and confirmation due dates; signed calendar days until each date; per-date `past_due`, `due_soon`, `not_due` or `unknown`; and overall `inactive`, `past_due`, `due_soon`, `clear` or `unknown`. Date fields are omitted when not shown. Dissolved is `inactive` even with no future due dates. An active company with either missing deadline is `unknown`, never `clear`. A past date describes the current page, not proof a filing was not submitted. `Source: Companies House public register` appears in each row.

Status handling follows the [official Companies House status labels](https://github.com/companieshouse/api-enumerations/blob/master/constants.yml#L2437-L2479): exact `Active` uses the due-date classifications; `Dissolved`, `Converted / Closed`, `Closed`, and `Removed` are `inactive`; recognized liquidation, receivership, administration, voluntary arrangement, insolvency, open and registered states are `unknown` for overall attention. A known status detail such as `Active — Active proposal to strike off` is also `unknown`. An unrecognized status or detail is a source-structure failure and produces no charged row.

### Limits

At most three public company-overview GETs plus one robots GET per run, with two seconds between company pages, 1 MiB/page, 30 seconds/request, and 256 MB memory. No browser, proxy, paid API, login or cookie. A 404, challenge, 429, identity mismatch, malformed required status or date, timeout, or size breach fails explicitly before delivery/charge.

### Privacy

Only company-level identity/status and displayed next dates are read into the output. Officers, people with significant control, registered-office addresses, filing prose, documents, contacts and raw HTML are excluded.

### Price

One primary `filing-deadline-brief-created` event at $0.01 per delivered company decision row. No start or secondary charge; at most three rows cost $0.03. A failed source yields no paid row.
