## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## YC Work at a Startup Job Search & Full Descriptions

**Price:** $0.00008 per delivered job, including its public description. No start or secondary fee.

Refresh several public YC startup job searches, with full public job descriptions and compensation/equity strings where published. Independent tool, not affiliated with Y Combinator.

### Input

`searchQueries`:1–5 natural-language job queries, default software engineer and designer. `maxJobs`:1–150, default60. Uses the same public `/jobs/search` endpoint as the website, then opens each selected job detail page. The source currently returns up to30 ranked matches per query, without a public next cursor. This exports those live search windows, not all2,924 jobs or the historical board. Source ranking is not claimed to be newest. Multiple queries are interleaved and IDs deduplicated while retaining source query attribution; no invented pagination.

### Output

One paid row per validated job with ID, canonical public job URL, title, company, location/job type, published salary/equity strings, skills, full plain description and interview process when present, sourceSearchUrls/queries and observed time. Unknown optional strings remain blank. No invented posting date: company last-active time is not a job date. coverageComplete is always false for the entire board; sourceWindowBounded true, outputLimited records a user cap within the observed windows. KVS RUN-SUMMARY gives source and delivery counts.

### Limits

256MB/300seconds;200requests including robots/retries,2MiB/source and24MiB staged output. Exact workatastartup.com public `/jobs/search?q=...`, `/jobs/<numeric-id>` and robots paths only; no account/application/private/Algolia endpoints or cookies. Robots checked before every requested/redirected path. Empty/no-matching output,403,429,timeout, missing full description, identity mismatch and other required source failures raise an uncharged error before paid delivery. All selected sources validate before paid output.

One$0.00008 job-exported event per distinct delivered job; no start or secondary fee.60 jobs cost$0.0048. Respect the user's total charge limit.

### Privacy

Omit hiring managers, founders, personal profiles, author/contact fields and application links carrying auth redirects. Redact emails/phone contacts from public job text; no raw HTML, cookies or page-state tokens saved. Public employer/job business facts only. Publisher terms apply.
