## Pricing

from $1.60 / 1,000 record scrapeds

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Discord Bot Directory Scraper - top.gg and discord.bots.gg

Build one catalogue of Discord bots from **top.gg** and **discord.bots.gg**. Every row has the same shape, tagged with the directory it came from: bot name, tagline, server count, votes, certified flag, tags, owner, invite link, support server, website and GitHub.

### Discord Bot Directory Scraper Features

- Two directories in one run, one row shape, `source_directory` on every row.
- Server counts for every bot, so you can rank the ecosystem by reach.
- Vote counts, tags and certified status from top.gg.
- Invite links, support server invites, websites and GitHub links for outreach and partnerships.
- Filter by tag (music, moderation, economy, AI and more) or return only certified and verified bots.
- Duplicates removed within a run.

### Who Uses Discord Bot Directory Data?

- **Bot developers** benchmarking against competing bots in their category.
- **Investors and analysts** sizing the Discord bot ecosystem and tracking the biggest bots.
- **Moderation and AI tooling vendors** building a prospect list of bots and their owners.
- **Directory and aggregator builders** who want the listings from both sites in one feed.

### How the Discord Bot Directory Scraper Works

1. Pick the directories and, optionally, one or more tags.
2. The actor walks top.gg by votes and discord.bots.gg by server count, biggest first, and stops at your `maxItems`.
3. Rows are written to the dataset as they are collected.

`maxItems` is shared evenly between the selected directories. If one directory has fewer bots than its share, the unused part goes to the other.

discord.bots.gg lists about 1,300 bots in total. top.gg is far larger.

### Input

| Field           | Type    | Description                                                                                                  |
|-----------------|---------|--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------|
| `sources`       | array   | `top.gg`, `discord.bots.gg`, or both (default both)                                                          |
| `tags` | array | Only bots with one of these tags. On discord.bots.gg, which has no tags, the tag is used as a keyword search |
| `certifiedOnly` | boolean | Only bots certified on top.gg or verified on discord.bots.gg                                                 |
| `maxItems` | integer | Maximum bots returned across all selected directories (default 100) |

Example:

```json
{
    "sources": ["top.gg", "discord.bots.gg"],
    "tags": ["music"],
    "certifiedOnly": false,
    "maxItems": 200
}
```

### Resuming a large crawl

Every run emits a `resumeCursor` in its Output. If a large crawl stops before it finishes, because it hit `maxItems`, your spend cap (`maxTotalChargeUsd`), or was aborted, start a new run with **the same input** plus that `resumeCursor` to continue from where it left off. The crawl resumes from the queued work the previous run didn't reach.

- You are **not re-charged** for records the earlier run already delivered.
- Resume within your account's run-retention window; on the free tier, roughly your 10 most recent runs. Once the source run is pruned, its `resumeCursor` is no longer valid.
- `resumeCursor` is opaque, so supply it unmodified.

### FAQ

#### Which Discord bot directories are covered?

top.gg and discord.bots.gg. The older discordbots.gg address no longer exists, so it is not offered.

#### Can I get only music bots, or only moderation bots?

Yes. Choose one or more tags. On top.gg only bots carrying the tag are returned. discord.bots.gg has no tags, so there the tag is searched as a keyword.

#### Does it return server counts and votes?

Server counts come from both directories. Vote counts and tags come from top.gg only.

#### Can I get owner and invite details?

Yes. Each row includes the invite link, support server link, website and GitHub link when the listing has them, and the owner or team name where the directory shows one.

#### Why is `last_updated` empty for top.gg rows?

top.gg does not publish a last-updated date on its listings. discord.bots.gg reports the time of the bot's last status change.

#### Do I need an account or API key?

No.

#### How much does it cost to run?

You pay per bot returned. See the pricing panel on this page for the current rate.

# Actor input Schema

## `sp_intended_usage` (type: `string`):

What will this data feed? E.g. lead lists, KYB checks, price tracking.

## `sp_improvement_suggestions` (type: `string`):

Provide any feedback or suggestions for improvements.

## `sp_contact` (type: `string`):

We'll personally help with your use case. No spam.

## `resumeCursor` (type: `string`):

Leave empty for a fresh crawl. To CONTINUE a previous run where it stopped — without paying again for records you already received — paste the `resumeCursor` value from that run's Output (the run's OUTPUT key). Resume promptly: the previous run's data expires with your account's retention window (free tier: your ~10 most recent runs).

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Directories to crawl. maxItems is split evenly between the selected directories; a directory that runs out of bots hands its unused share to the other.

## `tags` (type: `array`):

Only return bots carrying one of these tags. top.gg filters on its tag pages; discord.bots.gg has no tags, so the tag is used as a keyword search there. Leave empty for every bot.

## `certifiedOnly` (type: `boolean`):

Only return bots flagged certified on top.gg or verified on discord.bots.gg.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum number of bots to return across all selected directories.
