# EU Car Specs Lookup: WLTP CO2, Power & Fuel Use (`jyaussie/eu-car-specs-co2`) Actor

EU car specs lookup by make, model and year: car specifications per variant with engine size, power (kW/hp), WLTP CO2, fuel consumption and electricity use, weight and registrations. Vehicle specs for every new car sold in the EU 2022-2025, official EEA CO2 data.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## EU Car Specs & CO2 Lookup: engine, power, WLTP CO2 and fuel use for every new car

**What engine, power and CO2 does this car have?** Enter a make and model and get **official data for every variant registered new in the EU (plus Iceland and Norway) from 2022 to 2025**: engine size, **power in kW and hp**, **WLTP CO2 g/km**, **fuel consumption l/100 km**, **electric consumption Wh/km**, weight, and **how many were registered**. Built from the European Environment Agency's official CO2 monitoring data (~42 million registrations).

### Why use it

- **Road-tax and import calculators**: many EU countries (Cyprus, Ireland, Portugal, Spain, France, Netherlands...) tax cars by CO2. Get the official WLTP figure per engine/power variant.
- **Listings and marketplaces**: fill in missing specs (power, engine, CO2, consumption) for used cars imported from the EU.
- **Fleet, leasing and insurance**: compare variants by CO2 and fuel use; find the most common versions.
- **Market research**: how many of each variant were registered each year, the EV share of a model, and so on.

Fast and cheap: the data is pre-aggregated into the Actor, so a lookup takes about a second on 256 MB.

### Input

| Field | Example | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| `make` | `Toyota` | `VW`, `Mercedes` aliases work |
| `model` | `Yaris` | Empty = all models of the make |
| `years` | `2024-2025` | Registration years 2022-2025 (2025 is provisional) |
| `vehicles` | `[{"make":"Tesla","model":"Model 3"}]` | Several at once |
| `fuelTypes` | `["hybrid","electric"]` | petrol, diesel, electric, hybrid, plug-in hybrid, lpg, cng, hydrogen, e85 |
| `modelMatch` | `auto` | `auto` = exact name if it exists, else starts-with. `Yaris` exact excludes `Yaris Cross` |
| `minPowerKw` / `maxPowerKw` | `100` | Optional |
| `minRegistrations` | `10` | Hides rare variants and data-entry errors |

### Example output

VW Golf, 2025 (provisional), most-registered variants:

| Fuel | Powertrain | Engine | Power | CO2 WLTP | l/100 km | EU registrations |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| Petrol | Hybrid (not plug-in) | 1498 cc | 110 kW / 150 hp | 121.8 g/km | 5.3 | 27,128 |
| Diesel | Mono-fuel | 1968 cc | 110 kW / 150 hp | 123.0 g/km | 4.7 | 22,973 |
| Petrol | Mono-fuel | 1498 cc | 85 kW / 116 hp | 124.2 g/km | 5.5 | 18,485 |

```json
If nothing matches you get one free row with `suggestedModels`.
### Use with AI agents (MCP)
Connect this Actor to Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or any MCP client with Apify's hosted MCP server:
`https://mcp.apify.com/?tools=jyaussie/eu-car-specs-co2`
Example prompts:
- "What engine and power options did the 2024 VW Golf have in the EU, with WLTP CO2?"
- "Compare fuel consumption of Toyota Yaris hybrid variants 2023-2025."
- "List electric car specs (kW, kWh/100 km) for the Tesla Model 3."
### Pricing
Pay per event: **$0.005 per variant returned** ($5 per 1,000). Not-found lookups are free.
### Data source, licence & method
- Source: **European Environment Agency (EEA), Monitoring of CO2 emissions from passenger cars, Regulation (EU) 2019/631**, licensed under **CC BY 4.0** (copyright holder: European Commission, DG CLIMA). This Actor is not affiliated with or endorsed by the EEA or the European Commission.
- Rows are aggregated per registration year, make, commercial name, fuel, powertrain, engine size and power. CO2, consumption and mass are **registration-weighted averages** of the reported values (WLTP). Commercial names are reported by each country and can be inconsistent; spelling variants are merged when `combineNameVariants` is on.
- Specs describe cars **as registered new** in the EU/EEA, not a specific vehicle. For tax decisions, use the CO2 value on the vehicle's certificate of conformity.
- No personal data: the source holds no owner information, and this Actor only returns aggregates.
