## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## ATS Jobs Feed: Greenhouse, Lever & Ashby jobs database API (+ Workable, Recruitee, Personio)

### What is ATS Jobs Feed?

ATS Jobs Feed is a ready-made, daily-updated database of open jobs from company career pages on six applicant tracking systems (ATS): **Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, Recruitee and Personio**. You don't list companies and you don't wait for a crawl: you search the feed by keyword, country, remote, posted time, ATS or company domain, and get the matching jobs as JSON, CSV or Excel in seconds.

Every job comes in one schema: title, company, company domain, ATS, apply URL, posted / first-seen / last-seen / expired timestamps, normalized location (city, region, country, ISO code), remote flag, employment type, department, salary (structured when the ATS publishes it, otherwise parsed from the description), language and description.

**What makes it different**

- **No crawling wait.** The jobs are already indexed. A typical search finishes in a few seconds.
- **Only new jobs, or only expired jobs.** `mode: new` returns jobs you haven't received before; `mode: expired` returns jobs that were taken down. Ideal for a daily schedule.
- **Real timestamps.** `postedAt` from the ATS plus our own `firstSeenAt`, `lastSeenAt` and `expiredAt`, so you know exactly how fresh each job is.
- **Normalized location.** "San Francisco, CA", "Remote (Canada)" and "Berlin, Germany" become city, region and ISO country code, so the country filter just works.
- **Salary included.** Structured pay ranges from Ashby, Lever and Recruitee; ranges like "$120,000 – $150,000" parsed from descriptions elsewhere.
- **Cheap.** $1.50 per 1,000 jobs. No start fee beyond Apify's $0.00005.
- **Privacy-safe.** E-mail addresses and phone numbers are removed from descriptions.

**Use cases:** Generate leads (build B2B prospect lists, lead enrichment & validation) · Research markets & competitors (track competitors, build market datasets, track trends, profile companies & due diligence) · Developer tools (monitor & alert on website changes).

#### Use cases

- **Job boards and newsletters:** a daily feed of new startup and tech jobs for your niche (e.g. "remote data engineer jobs in Europe").
- **Sales and lead generation (hiring signals):** companies that just opened roles like "Head of RevOps" or "Security Engineer".
- **Recruiting agencies:** new openings at target companies every morning, and a signal when a role is filled or pulled (`mode: expired`).
- **Labour-market research:** salary ranges, remote share and hiring trends by country, ATS or department.
- **AI agents and RAG apps:** fresh, structured job data through the Apify API or MCP server.

### How fresh is the data?

- Our private indexer crawls every company board in the feed **once a day** (early morning UTC). Each item has `feedUpdatedAt`, the time of the last crawl.
- `postedAt` is the publication date the ATS itself reports (Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Recruitee and Personio give date and time; Workable gives the date).
- `firstSeenAt` is when our crawler first saw the job, `lastSeenAt` when it last saw it, `expiredAt` when it disappeared from the board. Expired jobs stay in the feed for 30 days.
- **Posted within** uses `postedAt`, or `firstSeenAt` when the ATS has no date. "Last hour" is useful right after the daily crawl; for alerts we recommend a daily schedule with "Last 24 hours" or "Last 7 days" plus `mode: new`.
- The indexer keeps discovering new company boards every week, so coverage grows over time. Boards that are deleted drop out automatically.

### How to use ATS Jobs Feed

1. Type one or more **keywords** (prefill: `engineer`) and pick **Posted within** (prefill: last 7 days). The prefill returns 20 jobs in a few seconds for about $0.03.
2. Optional: add **countries**, **locations**, **remote**, **ATS platforms**, **company domains** or title words to **exclude**.
3. Click **Start**. Download the results from the **Output** tab as JSON, CSV, Excel or HTML, or connect them to Google Sheets, Zapier, Make or n8n.
4. For alerts: set **Mode** to "Only new jobs since my last run" and create a daily **Schedule**.

#### Input guide

**Keywords (`keywords`) and Search job titles only (`titleOnly`)**

A job is kept if it contains ANY of the keywords as a whole word or phrase, not case-sensitive (accents are ignored). A trailing "s"/"es" is allowed, so `engineer` also matches "Engineers". With `titleOnly: true` (default) only the title is searched; with `false` the description is searched too.

- Good: `engineer`, `data scientist`, `product manager`, `account executive`, `c++`
- Warning: whole words only: `engineer` does not match "Engineering Manager"; add `engineering` if you want both.

**Exclude titles containing (`excludeKeywords`)**: drop jobs whose title contains any of these whole words, e.g. `senior`, `intern`, `manager`.

**Countries (`countries`)**: names or ISO codes (`Germany`, `DE`, `United States`, `US`). A job matches if ANY of its locations is in one of the countries. Remote jobs without a country, such as "Remote - EMEA", have no country code; use **Locations** for regions.

**Locations (`locations`)**: free text matched as whole words against all locations of a job, its city, region and country, e.g. `London`, `Bay Area`, `EMEA`, `Remote`.

**Remote (`remote`)**: `yes` = remote only; `no` = no remote jobs (hybrid and on-site stay); `any` = all. The flag comes from the ATS's workplace field when it has one, otherwise from "remote" in the location or title.

**Posted within (`timeRange`)**: `1h`, `24h`, `7d`, `30d`, `6m` or `all`. In `expired` mode it means "expired within".

**ATS platforms (`ats`)**: `greenhouse`, `lever`, `ashby`, `workable`, `recruitee`, `personio`. Empty = all.

**Company domains (`companyDomains`)**: e.g. `stripe.com`, `ramp.com`. Matches the company's careers domain and its job-board name (`ramp.com` matches the board `jobs.ashbyhq.com/ramp`).

**Mode (`mode`) and Monitor name (`monitorName`)**: see [Monitoring](#monitoring-new-and-expired-jobs).

**Max jobs (`maxItems`)**: newest jobs first; `0` = no limit. API default 1,000; Console prefill 20.

**Description (`descriptionFormat`)**: `text` (default), `html`, `both` or `none` (fastest).

Example input:

```json
{
  "keywords": ["data engineer", "analytics engineer"],
  "excludeKeywords": ["senior", "staff", "principal"],
  "countries": ["DE", "NL", "GB"],
  "remote": "any",
  "timeRange": "7d",
#### Data fields
| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `id` | Stable job id in this feed (ATS + board + the ATS's job id) |
| `title`, `company`, `companyDomain` | Job title; company name (from the ATS, or the board name); company's own domain when the job links to its careers site |
| `ats`, `board`, `jobId` | ATS, board slug, the ATS's own job id |
| `url`, `applyUrl`, `boardUrl` | Job page, application form, company job board |
| `status` | `active` or `expired` |
| `postedAt`, `firstSeenAt`, `lastSeenAt`, `expiredAt`, `updatedAt` | See [How fresh is the data?](#how-fresh-is-the-data) (`updatedAt`: Greenhouse only) |
| `location`, `locations` | Location text as published (primary, all) |
| `city`, `state`, `country`, `countryCode`, `countryCodes` | Normalized location; `countryCodes` = all countries of the posting |
| `latitude`, `longitude` | When the ATS publishes coordinates (rare; usually `null`) |
| `remote`, `workMode` | `true`/`false`/`null`; `remote`, `hybrid`, `onsite` or `null` |
| `employmentType`, `employmentTypeRaw` | `FULL_TIME`, `PART_TIME`, `CONTRACT`, `INTERNSHIP`, `TEMPORARY` or `null`; the original value |
| `department`, `team`, `seniority` | As published (`seniority`: Personio only) |
| `salaryMin`, `salaryMax`, `salaryCurrency`, `salaryPeriod`, `salaryText`, `salarySource` | Pay range; `YEAR`/`MONTH`/`HOUR`; `ats` (structured) or `description` (parsed) |
| `language` | Detected language of the posting (`en`, `de`, `fr`, ...) |
| `description`, `descriptionHtml` | Description as text and/or HTML, e-mails and phone numbers removed |
| `feedUpdatedAt` | Time of the crawl this item comes from |
Missing values are `null`, so CSV and Excel exports always have the same columns. The run also writes a `RUN_SUMMARY` record: feed update time, jobs scanned, matched, already seen and saved.
#### Dataset views
| View | What it shows |
|---|---|
| **Jobs** | Title, company, ATS, location, country, remote, posted, salary, status, link |
| **Full details** | Adds domain, department, team, employment type, city/region/country, all locations, timestamps, salary text, language, description, apply link |
### Monitoring (new and expired jobs)
- **`mode: new`** returns only jobs this monitor has not returned before. The first run returns everything that matches (your baseline); later runs return only new matches. Schedule it daily with "Last 7 days".
- **`mode: expired`** returns jobs that disappeared from their board (filled or pulled) and were not reported by this monitor before. Each is charged as the cheaper `expired-job` event.
- Use different **Monitor names** for different searches, e.g. `berlin-engineers` and `us-sales`. A new name starts a fresh baseline.
- The memory of returned jobs is stored in a named key-value store (`ats-jobs-feed-monitor`) in **your** Apify account. Only jobs that were actually saved (and charged) are remembered; jobs cut off by **Max jobs** or **Max charge per run** come in the next run, never twice.
### Pricing
Pay per event:
| Event | Price |
|---|---|
| `job` (a job saved in `active` or `new` mode) | **$1.50 per 1,000** ($0.0015 each) |
| `expired-job` (a job saved in `expired` mode) | **$0.30 per 1,000** |
| Actor start (Apify standard) | $0.00005 per run |
| Example | Jobs | Cost |
|---|---|---|
| Prefill test (20 engineer jobs) | 20 | about $0.03 |
| 1,000 matching jobs | 1,000 | $1.50 |
| Daily alert, ~50 new jobs/day for 30 days | 1,500 | about $2.25/month |
| Daily expiry check, ~30 expired/day for 30 days | 900 | about $0.27/month |
You don't pay for jobs removed by filters, jobs already returned to the same monitor, or empty runs. To cap spending, set **Max charge per run** in the run options; the Actor stops cleanly at the limit.
### Use it via API
**JavaScript / Node.js**
```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';

const client = new ApifyClient({ token: 'YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN' });
const run = await client.actor('kadi_bence/ats-jobs-feed').call({
    keywords: ['product manager'],
    countries: ['US'],
    remote: 'yes',
    timeRange: '24h',
    maxItems: 200,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(items.length, items[0]);
```
**Python**
```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient

client = ApifyClient("YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN")
run = client.actor("kadi_bence/ats-jobs-feed").call(run_input={
    "keywords": ["machine learning engineer"],
    "countries": ["GB", "DE"],
    "timeRange": "7d",
    "mode": "new",
    "monitorName": "ml-europe",
})
for job in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(job["company"], job["title"], job["countryCode"], job["salaryMin"], job["url"])
```
**cURL** (runs and returns the jobs in one request)
```bash
curl -X POST "https://api.apify.com/v2/acts/kadi_bence~ats-jobs-feed/run-sync-get-dataset-items?token=YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN" \
  -H "Content-Type: application/json" \
  -d '{"keywords": ["engineer"], "timeRange": "24h", "maxItems": 100}'
```
**MCP server for AI agents**
```json
{ "mcpServers": { "apify": { "url": "https://mcp.apify.com/?actors=kadi_bence/ats-jobs-feed" } } }
```
Then ask: "Find remote data engineering jobs in Europe posted in the last 24 hours, with salary."
### Integrations and scheduling
- **Schedules:** Console > Schedules > Create new, pick this Actor or a saved task, e.g. daily at 08:00 UTC (after the morning crawl).
### FAQ
**How is this different from the Greenhouse, Lever & Ashby Jobs Scraper?**
The scraper fetches live jobs from the companies you name. This feed is pre-indexed: you search across all indexed companies at once, by keyword and filters, and get new/expired tracking for free. Use the scraper for a specific company list; use the feed for market-wide search and alerts.
**Which companies are included?**
Company boards on the six ATSs that our indexer has discovered and validated: from boards companies publish in public hiring threads, company lists and job-board links. The `RUN_SUMMARY` shows how many boards and active jobs the feed had at that moment. Missing a company? Use the ATS Jobs Scraper for it, or open an issue and we'll add the board.
**How fresh is it?**
Updated once a day; see [How fresh is the data?](#how-fresh-is-the-data). Every item carries `feedUpdatedAt`.
**Why did I get fewer jobs than I expected?**
Check the filters: keywords are whole words, countries need a known country (not "Remote - EMEA"), and **Posted within** defaults to 7 days. `RUN_SUMMARY` shows how many jobs were scanned and matched.
**Why is the salary empty?**
Many companies don't publish pay. It is filled when the ATS has a structured range or the description contains a clear range with a currency.
**Is this legal?**
The feed contains public job postings read from the public job-board endpoints the ATS vendors provide for publishing jobs. The indexer respects robots.txt and crawl-delay, doesn't log in, and removes e-mail addresses and phone numbers from descriptions, so no personal data is stored. You are responsible for how you use the data.
**The run failed with "The jobs feed could not be read".**
That is a problem on our side (the feed is being updated or unreachable), not with your input. Try again in a few minutes and open an issue if it persists.
