# Email Verifier & Disposable Email Checker (`kaidn/email-verifier-risk-checker`) Actor

Verify email lists in bulk: syntax, domain MX records, disposable/temporary domains (98k+), role accounts, free providers, and typo fixes like gmial.com -> gmail.com. Returns deliverable/risky/undeliverable plus a fraud risk level. Fast, DNS-based, no API keys.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Email Verifier & Disposable Email Checker

Clean an email list in seconds and catch the addresses that will bounce or abuse your sign-up. For
every address you get:

- **Status**: `deliverable_domain`, `risky`, `disposable`, `undeliverable`, `invalid` or `unknown`
- **Risk**: `low`, `medium` or `high`, with plain-English reasons
- **Disposable check** against 98,000+ temporary and throwaway domains, including subdomains. The
  list is rebuilt every hour and each run uses the latest one (`listUpdatedAt` says when)
- **Typo fixes**: `jane@gmial.com` comes back with `didYouMean: jane@gmail.com`
- **MX records**: does the domain exist and accept email at all (including RFC 7505 null MX)
- **Role accounts**: `info@`, `support@`, `sales@` and 40 more shared inboxes
- **Free provider** flag: Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, iCloud, Proton and others

Built by [Kaidn](https://kaidn.io), the fraud-scoring API, using the same email checks Kaidn runs on
live sign-ups.

### Use it for

- **Sign-up and trial abuse**: stop throwaway addresses before they claim a bonus or free trial
- **List cleaning**: drop dead domains and typos before a campaign, protect your sender reputation
- **Lead quality**: flag role accounts and free-mail addresses in B2B lead lists
- **Fixing typos at scale**: recover real customers who mistyped their provider

### Input

```json
{ "emails": ["sundar@google.com", "someone@mailinator.com", "jane@gmial.com"] }
```

### Output

```json
{
  "ok": true,
  "input": "jane@gmial.com",
  "status": "disposable",
  "risk": "high",
  "reasons": ["disposable / temporary email domain", "looks like a typo of gmail.com"],
  "didYouMean": "jane@gmail.com",
  "hasMx": false,
  "isDisposable": true,
  "isRoleAccount": false,
  "isFreeProvider": false
}
```

Export as JSON, CSV or Excel, or call it from the Apify API, Make, Zapier or n8n.

### What it does not do

It does not connect to the mail server to ask whether one specific mailbox exists (SMTP probing).
That is slow, often blocked, and can get the checking IP blacklisted. `deliverable_domain` means the
domain is real and accepts email; it does not promise the exact inbox exists.

### Pricing

You pay per address checked. Text that is not a valid address at all (`invalid syntax`), and addresses
whose domain DNS gave no answer (`status: unknown`), are returned but not charged. Domains are looked up once per run, so big lists stay fast.

Disposable-domain data is compiled from CC0, MIT and BSD licensed open lists; see `data/NOTICE.md`.

# Actor input Schema

## `emails` (type: `array`):

One address per line. Duplicates (any letter case) are checked once.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many addresses. Leave empty for no limit.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "emails": [
    "sundar@google.com",
    "someone@mailinator.com",
    "jane@gmial.com"
  ]
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One row per input item, in the default dataset

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "emails": [
        "sundar@google.com",
        "someone@mailinator.com",
        "jane@gmial.com"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("kaidn/email-verifier-risk-checker").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
Clients without OAuth support can send an `Authorization: Bearer <APIFY_API_TOKEN>` header instead, using a token from API & Integrations in Apify Console (https://console.apify.com/settings/integrations).
