## Pricing

from $1.20 / 1,000 ranked apps

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Play Store Rank Tracker - Google Play Keyword Rankings

Play Store rank tracker for ASO: see which apps rank for your Google Play keywords in any country, at which position, and how their rank changed since your last run, with rating, installs, developer, price and category for every ranked app.

### What does Play Store Rank Tracker do?

It runs the same search a user runs in the Google Play Store (a keyword, a country, a language) and returns one clean row per ranked app, in Google Play's own order: position 1 is the first app a user sees. Every row has the package name, title, developer, category, star rating, install range, price and currency, in-app purchase range, content rating, icon and store link.

With **Track rank changes between runs** on (the default), the actor remembers the ranks of each keyword and country. Schedule the same input every day and each row tells you the previous rank, the rank change (positive means the app moved up) and whether it is a new entrant. The OUTPUT record lists the apps that dropped out of the tracked positions, for free. Add your own app and your competitors to **Your apps and competitors** to get their rank per keyword in one place, including "not ranked".

Turn on **Include full app details** to also get ratings count, reviews count, the 1 to 5 star histogram, exact install count, release and last update date, what's new, the ads flag, developer website and the full description of each ranked app.

No login, no Google account, no API key and no proxy setup are needed. It reads public Google Play store pages only.

### Who is it for?

- **ASO specialists and agencies** tracking client apps on their target keywords in several countries every day.
- **App developers and product managers** watching where their app and its competitors rank after an update or a store listing change.
- **Mobile marketers** finding which keywords competitors rank for before spending on Google App Campaigns.
- **Mobile investors and analysts** spotting fast climbers and new entrants in a category.

### How much does it cost?

You pay only for ranked apps: **$1.50 per 1,000 ranked apps** on the Free plan, with lower prices on paid Apify plans. There is no charge per search, per country or for the details pages.

Worked example: an ASO consultant tracks 5 keywords in the US, top 30 each, every day for 30 days. That is 5 x 30 x 30 = 4,500 ranked apps, about **$6.75 per month**. Tracking only the top 10 costs a third of that, and with **Only output apps whose rank changed** on, unchanged apps are skipped and not charged.

Set "Max ranked apps per run" or a maximum cost per run to cap spending.

### How to use it

1. Click **Try for free**.
2. Enter your keywords exactly as users type them in the Play Store ("vpn", "habit tracker", "photo editor").
3. Add the two-letter country codes you care about ("us", "gb", "de", "in") and pick the language.
4. Optionally add your app's package name and your competitors' (the `id=` part of a Play Store link).
5. Click **Start**, then download the results as JSON, CSV or Excel, or read them with the API.
6. To build a rank history, save the input as a task and add a daily schedule. Keep the same keywords, countries, language and depth, because ranks are compared per exact keyword and country.

### Input example

```json
{
  "keywords": ["photo editor", "minecraft"],
  "countries": ["gb", "de"],
  "language": "en",
  "maxRank": 10,
  "trackedAppIds": ["com.mojang.minecraftpe"],
  "includeDetails": false,
  "trackChanges": true,
  "onlyChanges": false
}
```

### Output example

Real row from a run on 2026-10-17 (second run of the same keyword, so the change fields are filled):

```json
{
  "keyword": "vpn",
  "country": "us",
  "language": "en",
  "rank": 2,
  "appId": "ch.protonvpn.android",
  "title": "Proton VPN: Secure & Fast VPN",
  "developer": "Proton AG",
  "category": "Tools",
  "rating": 4.68,
  "installs": "100,000,000+",
  "minInstalls": 100000000,
  "price": 0,
  "currency": "USD",
  "isFree": true,
  "inAppPurchases": "$9.99 - $119.88 per item",
  "contentRating": "Everyone",
  "icon": "https://play-lh.googleusercontent.com/sNzvGfn-_S8SLmWYHxLjCn04oy53n1bzfkhxCV9Pp_qhEsQ8biu3D0XoAsUdwD-qfPvz",
  "url": "https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ch.protonvpn.android&hl=en&gl=US",
  "isFeatured": false,
  "previousRank": 2,
  "rankChange": 0,
  "isNewEntrant": false,
  "checkedAt": "2026-10-17T20:39:59+00:00"
}
```

The OUTPUT record of the run summarises every keyword:

```json
{"keyword": "minecraft", "country": "gb", "appsRanked": 10, "newEntrants": [], "droppedOut": [], "trackedApps": {"com.mojang.minecraftpe": 1}}
```

### Integrations and API

Run it from your code with the Apify API or the `apify-client` package, schedule it in Apify, or connect it to Make, n8n, Zapier, Google Sheets or a webhook (for example a Slack message when your app's `rankChange` is negative).

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("kamerozkan/play-store-rank-tracker").call(run_input={
    "keywords": ["habit tracker", "to do list"],
    "countries": ["us", "gb"],
    "maxRank": 30,
    "trackedAppIds": ["com.yourcompany.app"],
})
for item in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(item["keyword"], item["country"], item["rank"], item["title"], item["rankChange"])
```

### FAQ

**How deep does it track?** Google Play web search shows up to 30 apps per keyword, so positions 1 to 30. Set "Track positions 1 to" lower to pay less.

**Why do brand searches return only a few apps?** For a brand query like "minecraft" Google Play shows the official app as a large featured result (`isFeatured: true`, rank 1), a few related apps, and then a "similar apps" carousel. The carousel is not a search ranking, so it is left out.

**How does it know the previous rank?** It stores the last ranks of each keyword in a key-value store in your own Apify account, one record per keyword, country, language and depth. Change any of these and it is a new history.

**What counts as a new entrant?** `isNewEntrant` is true when the app was not in the tracked positions of this keyword in the previous run. Apps that left are listed in `droppedOut` in the OUTPUT record with their previous rank.

**Are rankings personalised?** The actor searches without a Google account, so you see the non-personalised ranking for the country and language, which is the standard reference for ASO.

**Is it legal to collect this data?** It collects public store listing data only: app names, developers (businesses) and store metrics. You are responsible for how you use it.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Google Play search terms to track, exactly as a user types them in the Play Store, for example "vpn" or "habit tracker". Each keyword returns the apps ranked 1 to 30.

## `countries` (type: `array`):

Two-letter Play Store country codes, for example "us", "gb", "de", "in", "br". Rankings differ per country, every keyword is checked in every country.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Play Store interface language for titles and texts (hl parameter), for example "en", "de", "es", "pt-BR".

## `maxRank` (type: `integer`):

How deep to track each keyword. Google Play web search shows up to 30 apps per keyword. You pay per ranked app, so 10 tracks the top 10 at a third of the cost.

## `trackedAppIds` (type: `array`):

Package names to watch, for example "com.nordvpn.android". Rows get isTrackedApp, and the OUTPUT record lists each tracked app's rank per keyword (null when it is outside the tracked positions).

## `includeDetails` (type: `boolean`):

Also open each ranked app's store page for ratings count, reviews count, rating histogram, exact installs, release and update dates, what's new, ads flag, developer website and full description. Slower, same price per app.

## `trackChanges` (type: `boolean`):

Remember each keyword's ranks and report previousRank, rankChange (positive = moved up), isNewEntrant and apps that dropped out. Run on a schedule for a daily rank history.

## `onlyChanges` (type: `boolean`):

After the first run, output (and charge) only new entrants and apps that moved. Dropped apps are always listed in the OUTPUT record for free.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many dataset rows. You are charged per row, so this also caps the cost of the run.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy is used by default. Leave as is unless you know you need something else.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "keywords": [
    "vpn",
    "habit tracker"
  ],
  "countries": [
    "us"
  ],
  "onlyChanges": false,
  "maxItems": 1000,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):

One row per result in the default dataset.
