## Pricing

from $2.99 / 1,000 results

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

<p align="center">
  <img src="https://imgur.com/XQBqbmj.png" alt="Finland Company Register" style="max-width:100%; border-radius:14px; width:680px;" />
</p>

Lookup Finnish companies by name or Y-tunnus with ease. Export clean company data straight into JSON, CSV, or Excel datasets for lead generation, market research, or compliance checks.

### Use Cases

- **Lead Lists**: Gather company profiles, official names, and postcodes for potential business outreach.
- **Company Verification**: Input list of business IDs (Y-tunnus) to pull updated register details.
- **Industry Slices**: Filter and organize businesses by industry codes and primary business descriptions.
- **Repeat Operations**: Consistent queries produce predictable datasets across runs for easy tracking.
- **Spreadsheet Exports**: Convert dataset output straight to CSV or Excel for analysis.

### Input Options

| Parameter | Type | Default | Description |
|-----------|------|---------|-------------|
| `mode` | string | `search` | Choose `search` for name queries or `by_business_id` for Y-tunnus lookups. |

| `businessIds` | array | `["0112038-9"]` | Business IDs (Y-tunnus) to look up, one per line (Business ID mode). |
| `maxItems` | integer | `100` | Maximum company rows to return. Hard cap of 1000. |
| `requestDelaySecs` | number | `1` | Pause duration between requests in seconds. |

| `proxyConfiguration` | object | Off | Optional proxy settings if required by your environment. |

#### Example Input

Search by name:

```json
{
  "mode": "search",
  "names": ["nokia"],
  "maxItems": 100,
  "requestDelaySecs": 1,
  "userAgent": "KawsarActorResearch/1.0",
  "timeoutSecs": 300,
  "requestTimeoutSecs": 30,
  "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": false }
}
```

Lookup by Business ID:

```json
{
  "mode": "by_business_id",
  "businessIds": ["0112038-9"],
  "maxItems": 10,
  "proxyConfiguration": { "useApifyProxy": false }
}
```

### Extracted Data Fields

Here is a sample row output from the extracted dataset:

```json
{
  "businessId": "0112038-9",
  "euId": "FIFPRO.0112038-9",
  "name": "Nokia Oyj",
  "registrationDate": "1896-12-19",
  "status": "2",
  "mainBusinessLine": "70100",
  "mainBusinessLine_fi": "Activities of head offices",
  "website": "[www.nokia.com](https://www.nokia.com)",
  "companyForm": "Julkinen osakeyhtiö",
  "street": "Karakaari",
  "postCode": "02610",
  "lastModified": "2026-08-19T10:04:06",
  "scraped_at": "2026-10-12T00:00:00+00:00"
}
```

| Field | Type | Description |
| --- | --- | --- |
| `businessId` | string | Official Y-tunnus ID. Duplicates are removed automatically based on this. |
| `euId` | string | European Union business identifier, if available. |
| `name` | string | Current official company name. |
| `registrationDate` | string | Initial registration date of the business. |
| `status` | string | Current register status code. |
| `mainBusinessLine` | string | Official TOL industry classification code. |
| `mainBusinessLine_fi` | string | Primary industry description. |
| `website` | string | Official website URL listed on file. |
| `companyForm` | string | Official legal company structure (e.g., Oyj, Oy). |
| `street` | string | Registered street address. |
| `postCode` | string | Postal code for the primary address. |
| `lastModified` | string | Timestamp of the last updated entry. |
| `scraped_at` | string | Timestamp in UTC when the data was extracted. |
| `error` | string | Error details if a specific request encounters issues. |

### How It Works

1. **Input Processing**: Takes your input list of names or business IDs and formats individual queries.
2. **Pacing & Retries**: Queries are run sequentially with a default delay of 1 second between requests to keep execution steady and smooth.
3. **Paging & Cap Handling**: When running name searches, it automatically moves through result pages until your set item limit (`maxItems`) is reached.
4. **Deduplication**: Results are automatically filtered so each business ID appears once per run.
5. **Data Output**: Output dataset rows are saved in structured batches. If the process hits a timeout, all data gathered up to that point remains saved in your dataset.

### Limits and Best Practices

To maintain optimal performance and respectful data collection, requests are processed sequentially with a default delay between calls. You can adjust `requestDelaySecs` in the parameters if needed, though keeping a steady pace is recommended.

### FAQ

**Can I export the data as a CSV?**
Yes. You can download your dataset directly in JSON, CSV, or Excel formats.

**What happens if a business ID cannot be found?**
If a business ID isn't found, an error record detailing the issue is included in your dataset output while the actor continues processing remaining items.

**How many records can I extract per run?**
The default limit is set to 100 items, with a maximum cap of 1,000 items per run.

# Actor input Schema

## `mode` (type: `string`):

search calls the verified name query. by_business_id calls the verified Y-tunnus query. Each name or ID is a separate request.

## `names` (type: `array`):

Names to search in search mode. One name per line. The verified call is GET /companies?name=nokia\&page=1. Ignored in by_business_id mode.

## `businessIds` (type: `array`):

Finnish Y-tunnus values for by_business_id mode. One ID per line. The verified call is GET /companies?businessId=0112038-9. Ignored in search mode.

## `maxItems` (type: `integer`):

Maximum company rows to save this run. Hard cap is 1000. Error rows do not count toward this limit.

## `requestDelaySecs` (type: `number`):

Seconds to wait between company requests. Default is 1 because the public host did not publish a rate limit. Set 0 only for tests.

## `userAgent` (type: `string`):

User-Agent sent on every request. Keep an app name and a contact so the host can identify the client.

## `timeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

Stop the run after this many seconds and keep rows already collected. Default 300. Maximum 3600.

## `requestTimeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

How long to wait for one PRH response before treating that call as failed. Default 30 seconds.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Optional proxy for PRH requests. Leave useApifyProxy off. The public endpoint does not require a proxy.
