## Pricing

from $0.50 / 1,000 trends

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Google Trends "Trending Now" Scraper — every trend, not just the top 10

Most trending-search scrapers read Google's RSS feed, which only lists **10 trends**. This actor reads the full **Trending now** list on Google Trends: often **300+ trends a day per country**, and **thousands over 7 days**.

Each trend comes with its **search volume**, **growth %**, **start time**, whether it is **still active**, its **categories**, and the **related queries** Google groups under it.

### What you get

| Field | Example |
|---|---|
| `trend` | `jets vs canadiens` |
| `geo` | `CA` |
| `rank` | `2` (within the geo, after your sort and filters) |
| `searchVolume` / `searchVolumeLabel` | `50000` / `50K+` |
| `growthPercent` | `1000` (Google caps the display at 1000%) |
| `isActive`, `startedAt`, `endedAt` | `true`, `2026-11-04T01:30:00.000Z`, `null` |
| `categories` | `["Sports"]` |
| `relatedQueries` | `["canadiens", "jets game", "habs score"]` |
| `exploreUrl` | Link to the term on Google Trends |

### How to use it

1. Add one or more **countries or regions**: `US`, `GB`, `CA`, `FR`, `DE`, `IN`, `BR`, `JP`… or regions like `US-CA` or `CA-QC`.
2. Pick a **time window**: past 4 hours, 24 hours, 48 hours or 7 days.
3. Optionally keep only some **categories**, only **active** trends, or trends above a **minimum search volume**.
4. Run it once, or **schedule it hourly or daily** to build your own trend history.

#### Example input

```json
{
  "geos": ["US", "GB", "CA"],
  "timeWindow": "past-24-hours",
  "categories": ["18", "3"],
  "minSearchVolume": 2000,
  "maxTrendsPerGeo": 50
}
```

#### Category IDs

1 Autos & Vehicles · 2 Beauty & Fashion · 3 Business & Finance · 4 Entertainment · 5 Food & Drink · 6 Games · 7 Health · 8 Hobbies & Leisure · 9 Jobs & Education · 10 Law & Government · 11 Other · 13 Pets & Animals · 14 Politics · 15 Science · 16 Shopping · 17 Sports · 18 Technology · 19 Travel & Transportation · 20 Climate

### Pricing

You pay **per trend delivered**. Proxies are included. Use **Max trends per geo** and the filters to control cost. A 7-day window for the US can return 3,000+ trends.

- Geos that fail after all retries are **free** and appear with `status: "error"`.
- Set a maximum cost per run; the actor stops cleanly at that limit and keeps what it collected.

### Use cases

- **Newsrooms and content teams:** spot rising stories in any country within hours.
- **Marketers and brands:** react to moments (sports, shows, launches) while they are trending.
- **E-commerce:** catch product and shopping trends early (category 16).
- **Researchers and data teams:** schedule hourly runs to build a trend archive.
- **AI agents:** give an assistant live "what's trending" context through the Apify MCP server.

### Reliability

Requests retry with fresh IPs and fall back to residential proxies when Google rate-limits. The `RUN_STATS` record shows requests and retries for every run. We run test scrapes every day. Questions or problems: use the **Issues** tab; we reply within one business day.
