## Pricing

from $0.22 / 1,000 reviews

This Actor is paid per event. You are not charged for the Apify platform usage, but only a fixed price for specific events.
Since this Actor supports Apify Store discounts, the price gets lower the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Google Maps Reviews Scraper

This **Google Maps reviews scraper** lets you **scrape the reviews of any Google Maps place** and export them to JSON, CSV or Excel. Paste a few place links or Place IDs, press Start, and get **one row per review**: the star rating, text (translated into your language, with the original kept), date, likes, photos, the owner's reply, the reviewer and the place. **No Google account, no login and no API key** are needed.

### What data can you extract from Google Maps reviews?

Each review comes back as one row with 30 fields.

| Group | Fields |
|---|---|
| **Review** | Review ID and link, stars, text, original text and its language, date (ISO 8601 in UTC) and the date as Google shows it, month of visit, likes |
| **Details** | Aspect ratings and answers such as Food 5, Service 4, Meal type Dinner; links to the review's photos |
| **Owner reply** | The owner's response and when it was posted |
| **Reviewer** | Name, contributor ID, profile link, profile picture, number of reviews written, Local Guide badge |
| **Place** | Name, address, main category, average rating, number of reviews, Place ID, CID and Google Maps link |
| **Run details** | The input the review came from, and when the row was scraped |

### Use cases

- **Reputation management**: track new reviews of your locations every day, and catch bad ones early.
- **Competitor analysis**: read what customers praise and criticise at competing businesses.
- **Sentiment analysis and research**: export thousands of reviews, already translated into one language, for sentiment, topic or NLP work.
- **Customer service**: find reviews without an owner reply, or the negative ones, and answer them.
- **Multi-location brands**: compare ratings and complaints across all your branches.
- **Lead qualification**: see how a business treats its customers before you contact it.

### How to scrape Google Maps reviews

1. Open **Google Maps Reviews Scraper** in Apify Console and go to the Input tab.
2. In **Places**, paste one Google Maps place link per line (copy it from your browser's address bar), or a Place ID such as `ChIJg4octORx5kcRijmhQTSm1Fs`.
3. Set **Max reviews per place**, or leave it empty for every review.
4. Pick a **Sort by** order and, if you like, **Newer than**, **Language**, star filters and **Only reviews with text**.
5. Click **Start** and watch the reviews appear in the Output tab.
6. Download the data as JSON, CSV, Excel, XML or HTML, or read it through the Apify API.

### Input

| Field | What it does |
|---|---|
| **Places** | One per line: a place URL (`https://www.google.com/maps/place/...`), a share link (`https://maps.app.goo.gl/...`), a cid link (`https://www.google.com/maps?cid=...`) or a Place ID (`ChIJ...`). The same place entered twice is scraped once. |
| **Max reviews per place** | Stops each place after this many reviews. Leave empty for every review. |
| **Sort by** | Newest (default), Most relevant, Highest rating or Lowest rating. |
| **Newer than** | Only reviews written after a date in UTC (`2026-01-31`) or within a duration back from now (`24h`, `7d`, `2w`, `6m`, `1y`). With Newest it also stops each place at the first older review, which keeps scheduled runs cheap. |
| **Language** | Language code such as `en`, `fr`, `de` or `pt-BR`. Google translates reviews into it and the scraper keeps the untranslated text in `original_text`. |
| **Min stars**, **Max stars** | Keep only reviews in a star range: Max stars 2 gives the negative reviews. |
| **Only reviews with text**, **Only reviews with photos** | Leave out star-only reviews, or reviews without photos. |
| **Max results** | Stops the whole run after this many reviews. |

You can export the results to **JSON, CSV, Excel, XML and HTML** from the Output tab, or fetch them with the API. Photo and profile picture links come from Google and can stop working after a while, so download the images soon if you need them.

### How much does it cost to scrape Google Maps reviews?

This Actor uses pay-per-event pricing: you pay only for the reviews you get.

- **$0.45 per 1,000 reviews** on the Apify Free plan.
- Bronze, Silver and Gold Apify plans pay less: $0.35, $0.30 and $0.22 per 1,000 reviews.
- Proxies are included. There is no separate charge per place or per run.

Inputs that fail (see the FAQ) give no rows, so they cost nothing. Use **Max reviews per place**, **Newer than** and **Max results** to keep a run within budget.

### Integrations and API

Everything you can do in Apify Console you can also do through the **Apify API**: start runs, pass input, and read the reviews as JSON, CSV or Excel.

Python, with the `apify-client` package:

```python
from apify_client import ApifyClient
client = ApifyClient("<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>")
run = client.actor("keklik/google-maps-reviews-scraper").call(run_input={
    "urls": ["ChIJg4octORx5kcRijmhQTSm1Fs"],
    "maxReviewsPerPlace": 200,
})
for review in client.dataset(run["defaultDatasetId"]).iterate_items():
    print(review["rating"], review["text"])
```

Node.js, with the `apify-client` package:

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
const client = new ApifyClient({ token: '<YOUR_APIFY_TOKEN>' });
const run = await client.actor('keklik/google-maps-reviews-scraper').call({
    urls: ['ChIJg4octORx5kcRijmhQTSm1Fs'],
    maxReviewsPerPlace: 200,
});
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
console.log(items);
```

You can also:

- **Schedule** runs, for example every day with **Newer than** set to `24h`, to collect only the new reviews.
- Use **webhooks** to get notified, or start another process, when a run finishes.
- Send the data to **Google Sheets, Make, Zapier, Slack** and other apps with Apify integrations.
- Let **AI agents** run the scraper through the **Apify MCP server**, from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and other MCP clients.

### FAQ

#### Is it legal to scrape Google Maps reviews?

The scraper reads only what Google shows publicly to visitors who are not logged in. Reviews are still **personal data** of the people who wrote them: their names, profile pictures and words. If you are in the EU or handle data of people there, the GDPR applies, and other countries have similar laws. Make sure you have a lawful reason to collect and use the data, keep only what you need, and ask a lawyer if you are unsure.

#### Do I need a Google account or an API key?

No. You don't need a Google account, a login, cookies or a Google Places API key, and there is no proxy to set up. The official Places API returns at most 5 reviews per place; this scraper returns all of them.

#### How many reviews can I get from one place?

Every review Google shows to visitors, in the order you choose. In our tests the scraper read 1,200 reviews of one restaurant in about 90 seconds. Google's review count includes reviews it later hides or filters, so you can get somewhat fewer rows than `place_reviews_count`.

#### Are reviews from Tripadvisor and other sites included?

No. You get Google reviews only: the review feed Google serves to visitors who are not logged in doesn't include reviews from partner sites.

#### Why did some inputs fail?

Failed inputs give no rows. They are listed with a reason in the **`FAILED`** record of the run's key-value store (Storage tab), not in the dataset:

- `invalid_input`: not a place link or Place ID. Search URLs (`/maps/search/...`) and directions are not places: use [Google Maps Leads Scraper](https://apify.com/keklik/google-maps-leads-scraper) to find places first.
- `not_found`: the place doesn't exist or was removed.
- `no_reviews`: the place has no reviews.
- `blocked`: Google refused every attempt. Run it again later.
- `google_error`: Google answered with an error the scraper doesn't recognise. Please report it.

If no input returns a single review, the run ends with the status Failed.

#### Can I get reviews together with business data?

Yes. [Google Maps Leads Scraper](https://apify.com/keklik/google-maps-leads-scraper) can add a few reviews to each place with its **Reviews per place** setting. Use this Actor when you want many reviews per place, or each review as a row of its own. You can also feed the `url` or `place_id` column of the leads scraper's output into this Actor.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Google Maps places to scrape reviews from, one per line: a place URL copied from your browser (https://www.google.com/maps/place/...), a share link (https://maps.app.goo.gl/...), a cid link (https://www.google.com/maps?cid=...) or a Place ID (ChIJ...). Search URLs are not accepted: use Google Maps Leads Scraper to find places first.

## `maxReviewsPerPlace` (type: `integer`):

Stop each place after this many reviews. Leave empty to get every review Google shows.

## `sort` (type: `string`):

Order in which Google returns the reviews. Newest is the only order that lets "Newer than" stop a place early.

## `newerThan` (type: `string`):

Only reviews written after this point: a date in UTC (2026-01-31 or 2026-01-31 18:00) or a duration back from now (24h, 7d, 2w, 6m, 1y). Leave empty for reviews of any age.

## `language` (type: `string`):

Language code (en, fr, de, es, pt-BR...). Google translates reviews written in other languages into it; the untranslated text stays in "Original text".

## `minRating` (type: `integer`):

Keep only reviews with at least this many stars (1 to 5).

## `maxRating` (type: `integer`):

Keep only reviews with at most this many stars (1 to 5). For example 2 keeps the negative reviews.

## `onlyWithText` (type: `boolean`):

Leave out star-only reviews that have no written text.

## `onlyWithPhotos` (type: `boolean`):

Keep only reviews that include at least one photo.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop the whole run after this many reviews, across all places. Leave empty for no limit.
