## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## Facebook Groups Search Scraper

Discover Google-indexed Facebook groups from keywords and return clean, agent-ready records. Use it for community research, partnerships, and market discovery; do not use it to access private-group content, members, posts, or comments.

### Input

Pass one or more `searchQueries`, for example `real estate investors`, plus an optional two-letter `countryCode` and `maxResultsPerQuery` cap.

### Output

Each dataset item represents one unique, indexed Facebook group with `groupName`, canonical `groupUrl`, query provenance, snippet, and nullable member-count/visibility hints. A search-visible group may be labeled private; the actor only returns its indexed metadata. `OUTPUT` and `RUN_SUMMARY` report the terminal outcome and costs.

### Pricing

The actor charges $0.006 per validated group found plus a $0.00005 actor-start event; Apify platform usage is additional.

### Limits and responsible use

Discovery comes from Google results via ScrapeCreators with SerpApi fallback. Member counts and visibility are index hints and may be missing or stale. This actor does not bypass access controls or retrieve private Facebook content.

# Actor input Schema

## `searchQueries` (type: `array`):

Use this when you want to discover Google-indexed Facebook groups for one or more topics. Provide short natural-language phrases such as 'real estate investors' or 'small business owners London'. The actor searches Google for Facebook group URLs and deduplicates results across queries. This is not a Facebook group URL input and does not access private content.

## `maxResultsPerQuery` (type: `integer`):

Use this when you need to cap the number of unique public Facebook groups returned for each search query. Enter an integer from 1 to 100; the default is 20. A lower number reduces both event charges and result-review time. This is not a guaranteed number of matching groups because a query may have fewer indexed public results.

## `countryCode` (type: `string`):

Use this when the group search should be localized to a country. Enter a two-letter uppercase country code such as 'US', 'GB', or 'CA'; the default is 'US'. This affects the search provider's regional results, not Facebook group membership or visibility. This is not a city or language field.

## `includeRawData` (type: `boolean`):

Use this when you need the original provider result alongside the normalized group fields for debugging. Defaults to false to keep dataset rows compact and agent-friendly. Raw response shapes can change without notice and should not be used as a stable contract. This does not include private Facebook data.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "searchQueries": [
    "real estate investors",
    "startup founders London"
  ],
  "maxResultsPerQuery": 20,
  "countryCode": "GB",
  "includeRawData": false
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `groups` (type: `string`):

The default dataset: one normalized public Facebook group discovery record per item.

## `summary` (type: `string`):

Diagnostic run outcome, provider attempts, counters, and event-cost estimate.

## `output` (type: `string`):

Compact terminal outcome intended for agents and automation workflows.

# API

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "searchQueries": [
        "real estate investors"
    ],
    "maxResultsPerQuery": 20,
    "countryCode": "US",
    "includeRawData": false
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("khadinakbar/facebook-groups-search-scraper").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
