## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Hackathon Radar: Devpost, Unstop, Devfolio & MLH in One Feed

Every open hackathon from **Devpost**, **Unstop** (India's largest hackathon platform), **Devfolio** and **MLH** in one clean table: prize pool in USD, dates, online or in-person, location, themes and participant counts. Filter by prize, keyword or country, and schedule it to get **only new hackathons** each day.

No login, no API keys, no proxies.

### What you get

| `themes` | \["Machine Learning/AI", "Fintech"] |
| `participants` | 4066 |
| `prizeCategories`, `teamSize`, `tagline` | Devfolio extras |

### Who uses it

- **Developers and students** who want the biggest open prize pools without checking three sites.
- **Communities, newsletters and Discord bots** that post a weekly hackathon roundup.
- **Dev-tool companies and sponsors** tracking which hackathons their competitors sponsor and how many people join.
- **AI agents** through the Apify MCP server: "find online AI hackathons over $10k closing this month".

### Examples

Biggest online AI hackathons:

```json
{ "keywords": ["AI"], "onlineOnly": true, "minPrizeUsd": 10000 }
```

Hackathons in India (Unstop + Devfolio):

```json
{ "sources": ["unstop", "devfolio"] }
```

Daily feed of new hackathons only (schedule it once a day):

```json
{ "onlyNew": true }
```

### Notes

- Prize pools in INR, EUR and GBP are converted to USD at fixed approximate rates for sorting. The original text is kept in `prizeText`.
- MLH does not publish prize amounts or participant counts, so those fields are empty for MLH events.
- Devfolio lists prize categories but rarely amounts.
- About half of Unstop's listings offer non-cash rewards (certificates, internships), so `prizeUsd` is empty for those.
- Data comes from each platform's public listing pages. Respect each platform's terms when you reuse it.

### Pricing

Pay per hackathon returned. No start fee. A full run across all four platforms usually returns around 250–300 hackathons.
