## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## CollegeDunia Colleges: Listings, Fees, Rankings

Every college on a CollegeDunia listing page, as structured rows: name, city, state, approvals, rating, headline course and its total fees, placement rate and the default ranking. Point it at any listing, such as B.Tech colleges in Bangalore or MBA colleges in Delhi NCR, and it walks every page.

### What you get

One row per college, flat JSON. Example row:

```json
{
  "college_id": "25603",
  "college_name": "Indian Institute of Science - [IISc]",
  "short_form": "IISc Bangalore",
  "city": "Bangalore",
  "state": "Karnataka",
  "url": "https://collegedunia.com/college/25603-indian-institute-of-science-iisc-bangalore",
  "rating": "10.0",
  "approvals": "UGC",
  "naac_grade": "A++",
  "top_course": "B.Tech Mathematics And Computing",
  "total_fees_inr": 838200,
  "total_fees_formatted": "8.38 Lakhs",
  "placement_percentage": "",
  "ranking_agency": "NIRF",
  "ranking": 1,
  "ranking_year": 2026,
  "course_count": 12,
  "scraped_at": "2026-10-29T19:00:00.000Z"
}
```

### What you give

- **Listing URLs**: one or more CollegeDunia listing pages.
- **Max results**: stop after this many colleges. Default 200.
- **Proxy**: Apify residential proxy by default, because the site blocks most datacenter addresses.

### What it costs

You pay per college row. At $3 per 1,000 rows, a full listing of 156 colleges costs under $0.50. Nothing else is charged. Rows beyond **Max results** are never fetched or billed.

### Legal

Reads only the public listing pages the site serves to any visitor, without logging in. No personal data is collected.

### Speed

About 30 colleges on the first page and 10 per page after that, one page a second.

# Actor input Schema

## `listingUrls` (type: `array`):

CollegeDunia listing pages, for example https://collegedunia.com/btech/bangalore-colleges or https://collegedunia.com/mba/delhi-ncr-colleges. Every page of each listing is read until Max results.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many colleges. You are charged per college.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy settings. The site blocks most datacenter addresses, so residential is the default.

## Actor input object example

```json
{
  "listingUrls": [
    "https://collegedunia.com/btech/bangalore-colleges"
  ],
  "maxResults": 200,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true,
    "apifyProxyGroups": [
      "RESIDENTIAL"
    ]
  }
}
```

# Actor output Schema

## `results` (type: `string`):
