## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Website Screenshot: Full-page Captures of Any URL

Give it URLs and get a screenshot of each, full page or first screen, PNG or JPEG, at the viewport width you choose. Each image is stored in the run's key-value store with a direct link in the result row. Built for monitoring, audits, archiving, design reviews and generating previews in bulk.

### What you get

One row per URL, flat JSON. Example row:

```json
{
  "url": "https://example.com",
  "screenshot_url": "https://api.apify.com/v2/key-value-stores/abc123/records/screenshot-0001-example-com",
  "width": 1280,
  "height": 1024,
  "format": "png",
  "bytes": 38211,
  "status": "ok",
  "captured_at": "2026-10-30T12:00:00.000Z"
}
```

| Field | Meaning |
|---|---|
| url | The page you asked for |
| screenshot_url | Direct link to the image in the run's key-value store |
| width, height | Image size in pixels; height is the full page when Full page is on |
| format | png or jpeg |
| bytes | Image size |
| status | `ok`, `timeout` (page did not load in 30 s) or `error: ...`; the row is always delivered so you know it was tried |
| captured_at | When the capture was taken |

### What you give

- **URLs**: one per line.
- **Viewport width**: 320 to 3840 pixels. Default 1280.
- **Full page**: on by default; off captures the first screen only.
- **Format**: PNG (default) or JPEG.
- **Delay before capture**: milliseconds to wait after load. Default 1000.
- **Max results**: stop after this many URLs. Default 100.
- **Proxy**: Apify Proxy, on by default.

### What it costs

You pay per URL captured. At $3 per 1,000, 200 pages cost $0.60. A page that times out is billed once and never retried against your balance. Images stay in your key-value store under the platform's normal retention.

### Legal

Loads public pages in a real browser the way a visitor would, without logging in. No data beyond the image and the page size is collected.

### Speed

About two pages a second with the default one-second settle delay; heavy pages take longer.

# Actor input Schema

## `urls` (type: `array`):

Pages to capture, one per line.

## `width` (type: `integer`):

Browser width in pixels.

## `fullPage` (type: `boolean`):

Capture the whole scrollable page, not just the first screen.

## `format` (type: `string`):

Image format.

## `delayMs` (type: `integer`):

Wait after load so animations and lazy images settle.

## `maxResults` (type: `integer`):

Stop after this many URLs. You are charged per URL.

## `proxyConfiguration` (type: `object`):

Apify Proxy settings.

## Actor input object example

  "maxResults": 100,
  "proxyConfiguration": {
    "useApifyProxy": true
  }
}

You can run this Actor programmatically using our API. Below are code examples in JavaScript, Python, and CLI, as well as the OpenAPI specification and MCP server setup.

## JavaScript example

```javascript
import { ApifyClient } from 'apify-client';
// Initialize the ApifyClient with your Apify API token
// Replace the '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>' with your token
const client = new ApifyClient({
    token: '<YOUR_API_TOKEN>',
});
// Prepare Actor input
const input = {
    "urls": [
        "https://example.com",
        "https://apify.com"
    ]
};
// Run the Actor and wait for it to finish
const run = await client.actor("kiran_4897/website-screenshot").call(input);
// Fetch and print Actor results from the run's dataset (if any)
console.log('Results from dataset');
console.log(`💾 Check your data here: https://console.apify.com/storage/datasets/${run.defaultDatasetId}`);
const { items } = await client.dataset(run.defaultDatasetId).listItems();
items.forEach((item) => {
    console.dir(item);
});
