## Pricing

Pay per usage

This Actor is paid per platform usage. The Actor is free to use, and you only pay for the Apify platform usage, which gets cheaper the higher subscription plan you have.

## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Government Tenders Feed – Canada, UK & EU (official open data)

Find **open public-sector tenders, RFPs and bids** from four official government portals in **one clean, normalized table**, filtered by your keywords, category codes, value and deadline. Run it on a daily schedule with **"Only new since last run"** and you get a bid-alert feed. You only pay for the new tenders.

| Source | Coverage | Licence |
|---|---|---|
| 🇨🇦 **CanadaBuys** | Government of Canada federal tenders (open notices file) | Open Government Licence – Canada |
| 🇬🇧 **Find a Tender** | UK above-threshold public procurement (incl. Procurement Act 2023 notices) | Open Government Licence v3.0 |
| 🇬🇧 **Contracts Finder** | UK below-threshold opportunities | Open Government Licence v3.0 |
| 🇪🇺 **TED** | Contract notices from all EU/EEA countries | Free reuse (Decision 2011/833/EU) |

The Actor uses only the **official open-data APIs and files** published by these governments. It does not scrape websites, log in, use proxies, or collect personal data.

### Who it's for

- **SMEs and consultancies** bidding on government work (IT, cleaning, construction, facilities, consulting, and more)
- **Bid writers and tender agencies** watching several countries for clients
- **Sales and market-intelligence teams** tracking public-sector demand in their category
- **AI agents and automations** (n8n, Make, Zapier, Slack/email alerts) that need a consistent JSON schema across countries

### What you get (one row per tender)

`title`, `description`, `buyerName`, `buyerCountry`, `buyerRegion`, `publishedDate`, `closingDate`, `status`, `noticeType`, `procurementMethod`, `category` (goods/services/works), `classificationCodes` (CPV / UNSPSC / GSIN), `classificationDescriptions`, `estimatedValue`, `currency`, `deliveryRegions`, `matchedKeywords`, `url` (official notice page), `biddingPlatformUrl` (Canada), `suitableForSme` (UK), `source`, `licence`, `uid`, `fetchedAt`.

Example:

```json
{
  "source": "uk_find_a_tender",
  "title": "Control of Contractors Portal",
  "buyerName": "Transport for Wales Rail Limited",
  "buyerCountry": "GB",
  "closingDate": "2026-11-24T16:00:00.000Z",
  "estimatedValue": 430000,
  "currency": "GBP",
  "category": "services",
  "classificationCodes": ["72000000"],
  "matchedKeywords": ["software"],
  "url": "https://www.find-tender.service.gov.uk/Notice/103256-2026"
}
```

### How to use

1. Enter **keywords**, e.g. `software`, `cybersecurity`, `cleaning services`, `janitorial`. A tender is kept if it matches any of them.
2. Pick the **sources** and how many days back to look (**Published within days**).
3. Optional: narrow with **category code prefixes** (e.g. CPV `72` for IT services, `90910000` for cleaning), **minimum value**, **EU countries** (`DEU`, `FRA`, `IRL`...), or **exclude keywords**.
4. For alerts, turn on **Only new since last run**, set **Published within** to `2`, and add a daily **Schedule** in Apify Console. Connect the dataset to Slack, email, Google Sheets or a webhook through Apify integrations.

### Pricing

Pay per event: **$0.005 per run** plus **$4 per 1,000 tenders returned** ($0.004 each). A daily alert that returns 10 new tenders costs about **$1.35/month**. Set *Max results per source* or a max-charge limit to cap spend.

### Tips

- TED keyword search runs server-side on notice titles (machine-translated into English) and descriptions, so English keywords also find German, French, Polish and other notices.
- UK notices can appear on both Find a Tender and Contracts Finder; deduplicate by `title` + `buyerName` if you need to.
- Canadian notices don't always publish an estimated value; UK and EU notices usually do.

### FAQ

**Is this legal?** Yes. Every source is official open data published for reuse under the licence listed above, accessed through its public API or file.
**How fresh is the data?** Each run queries the live APIs. CanadaBuys refreshes its open-data file several times a day.
**Can you add another country?** Open an issue on the Actor page. AusTender, SAM.gov and the provincial portals are on the roadmap.

# Actor input Schema

## `keywords` (type: `array`):

Return tenders whose title, description or category mentions ANY of these words/phrases (case-insensitive). Leave empty to get everything. Examples: software, cloud, cleaning services, cybersecurity.

## `sources` (type: `array`):

Which official tender portals to search.

## `publishedWithinDays` (type: `integer`):

Only notices published or amended in the last N days. Use 1 for a daily alert schedule.

## `onlyOpen` (type: `boolean`):

Skip notices whose closing date has already passed.

## `onlyNewSinceLastRun` (type: `boolean`):

Remember what was already returned for this exact search and output only new notices. Combine with a daily Schedule for a bid-alert feed – you pay only for new tenders.

## `excludeKeywords` (type: `array`):

Drop notices that mention any of these words.

## `classificationPrefixes` (type: `array`):

Keep only notices with a classification code starting with one of these prefixes, e.g. 72 (IT services, CPV), 48 (software packages, CPV), 4323 (software, UNSPSC). Leave empty for all.

## `minValue` (type: `integer`):

Drop notices with a published estimated value below this amount (in the notice's own currency). Notices without a value are kept.

## `tedCountries` (type: `array`):

ISO 3166-1 alpha-3 buyer country codes for TED, e.g. DEU, FRA, IRL, NLD. Leave empty for all EU/EEA.

## `maxResultsPerSource` (type: `integer`):

Upper limit of tenders returned from each source in one run.

## `descriptionMaxLength` (type: `integer`):

Truncate long descriptions to this many characters.
