## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

## Company Jobs Tracker — Live Jobs from Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workable, SmartRecruiters, Recruitee & Workday

Get current open jobs directly from company career boards using public ATS JSON feeds. Give the Actor a company name, domain, or board URL and receive normalized rows across supported systems.

### Who uses it

Sales teams watching hiring as a buying signal, recruiters tracking target employers, job boards keeping listings current, and AI agents checking specific companies.

### Why use this instead of database scrapers

Results come from company career sources at run time, with no database refresh delay. Pay-per-event pricing charges only for job rows returned; errors and summary rows are free.

### Input examples

```json
{
  "companies": ["stripe", "notion.so", "https://jobs.lever.co/binance", "https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite"],
  "keywords": ["engineer", "sales"],
  "locations": ["Remote", "New York"],
  "remoteOnly": false,
  "includeDescription": false,
  "onlyNew": false,
  "maxJobsPerCompany": 1000
}
```

Each company may be an ATS board URL, company domain, or plain name/slug. The Actor probes public board APIs and then checks `/careers` and `/jobs` pages for supported ATS links.

### Output example

Trimmed example based on a live Greenhouse posting:

```json
{
  "type": "job",
  "company": "stripe",
  "ats": "greenhouse",
  "jobId": "8172508",
  "title": "Abuse Investigator",
  "department": "8611 Security Analytics",
  "team": "Ireland Locations",
  "location": "Dublin",
  "isRemote": null,
  "employmentType": null,
  "salaryMin": null,
  "salaryMax": null,
  "salaryCurrency": null,
  "salaryInterval": null,
  "postedAt": "2026-09-03T17:32:53.000Z",
  "updatedAt": "2026-09-25T20:45:00.000Z",
  "applyUrl": "https://stripe.com/jobs/search?gh_jid=8172508",
  "jobUrl": "https://stripe.com/jobs/search?gh_jid=8172508",
  "sourceBoardUrl": "https://boards.greenhouse.io/stripe",
  "scrapedAt": "2026-10-04T00:00:00.000Z"
}
```

Fields missing at the source remain `null`; salary intervals are never inferred. Description is omitted unless requested. The Actor emits an error row when no supported board is found. Each company also gets a free summary row.

### Pricing

$1.50 per 1,000 job rows, configured as the `job-result` event in Apify Console. Error and summary rows are free. One event is charged immediately before each job row is pushed, subject to the run's total charge limit.

### Only new jobs

Set `onlyNew` to `true` and schedule the Actor with the same company inputs. The named `company-jobs-tracker-state` key-value store remembers seen job IDs between runs; subsequent runs emit only IDs not previously returned. Reuse the same Actor storage when scheduling.

### FAQ

**How fresh are the results?** The Actor requests each board during the run. Freshness still depends on when the company's source board publishes changes.

**Are descriptions included?** No, by default. Set `includeDescription` to `true` for source descriptions converted to plain text.

**What happens if a company cannot be identified?** The Actor emits one free error row and a free summary row, then continues with other companies.

**Can I limit output?** Use title keywords, locations, `remoteOnly`, and `maxJobsPerCompany`.

**Does it support every ATS?** No. Unknown systems produce an error row. Workday boards can be entered directly, for example `https://nvidia.wd5.myworkdayjobs.com/NVIDIAExternalCareerSite`.
