## What's an Apify Actor?

Actors are web data automations that power AI and operations. They run on the Apify platform to scrape websites, process data, connect APIs, and automate workflows.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.
Actors are written with capital "A".

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.
The best way to integrate Actors is as follows.

- **AI agents and MCP clients** — the [Apify MCP server](https://docs.apify.com/integrations/mcp.md) at `https://mcp.apify.com` (remote, streamable HTTP, OAuth on first use).
- **Agentic workflows and local Actor development** — [Agent Skills](https://apify.com/.well-known/agent-skills/index.json) with the [Apify CLI](https://docs.apify.com/cli/docs.md): `npm install -g apify-cli`, then `apify login`.
- **JavaScript/TypeScript projects** — the official [JS/TS client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md): `npm install apify-client`.
- **Python projects** — the official [Python client](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md): `pip install apify-client`.
- **Any other language** — the [REST API](https://docs.apify.com/api/v2.md).

For usage examples, see the [API](#api) section below.

# README

## OpenAI Ads Readiness Checker — AdsBot, HTTPS, Feed

Evidence-based technical scan for **OpenAI Ads** readiness: HTTPS, `robots.txt` rules for **OAI-AdsBot** (required) and **OAI-SearchBot** (advisory), landing-page and image reachability, and an optional product-feed sample.

**Independent tool — not affiliated with OpenAI.** This Actor does **not** spoof the `OAI-AdsBot` user-agent and does **not** produce an “AI visibility score.” A passing report does not guarantee ad approval or that the real OpenAI crawler will clear every CDN/WAF.

**Store:** [apify.com/kondasviktor/openai-ads-readiness-checker](https://apify.com/kondasviktor/openai-ads-readiness-checker)

### When to use

- Agencies onboarding many client stores for ChatGPT / OpenAI product ads
- Merchants checking crawler access before uploading a catalog feed
- Non-Shopify shops (Woo, Shoprenter, custom) that Shopify apps do not cover

### Pricing (PPE)

| Event | When | Price |
| --- | --- | --- |
| Actor start | Platform default | Platform default |
| `readiness-report` | One completed domain report (up to 20 URL/image checks) | **$0.15** |
| `additional-url-check` | Each check above the included 20 | **$0.003** |

Prefer **PPE only** (not + usage). Paid Apify plans (Bronze / Silver / Gold) can get lower PPE rates — see the Pricing table on the Actor page.

### Input

| Field | Notes |
| --- | --- |
| `storeUrls` | Public homepage URL(s) — one report charged per URL |
| `feedUrl` | Optional public Merchant XML/CSV to sample |
| `sampleProductUrls` | Optional product pages (same domain) |
| `maxProductPages` | Cap for product/image checks (QA prefill: 3) |
| `checkImages` | Fetch og:image / sample `<img>` URLs |
| `checkSearchBot` | Also evaluate OAI-SearchBot (advisory) |

### Output

- **Dataset:** one `summary` row per store + one `check` row per finding
- **Key-value store:**
  - `OUTPUT.json` — full report
  - `REPORT.html` — human-readable evidence
  - `README.txt` — file legend + limitations

Statuses: `ready` | `needs_attention` | `blocked` | `incomplete`.

### Use with Claude, Cursor, and MCP

Available on the [Apify MCP server](https://mcp.apify.com). Pass a public store URL; ask for an OpenAI Ads readiness report.

### Legal

Respect each site's terms and robots rules. You are responsible for how you use the results. Not legal advice. Not an official OpenAI validator.

### FAQ

**Does this guarantee OpenAI / ChatGPT ad approval?**\
No. It is an independent evidence scan. It does not spoof `OAI-AdsBot` and does not produce an “AI visibility score.”

**What is OAI-AdsBot vs OAI-SearchBot?**\
`OAI-AdsBot` is the crawler relevant to Ads readiness (checked by default). `OAI-SearchBot` is advisory when `checkSearchBot` is on.

**Can I check a Merchant feed?**\
Yes — pass `feedUrl` to a public Google Merchant XML/CSV/JSON or Shopify `products.json`. Do **not** use a sitemap URL.

**What about Hungary / HUF?**\
HTTPS and robots checks still run. Official product-feed markets verified in our pin are **US / CA / MX** only — we never claim HU feed readiness.

**How do I convert the feed after this?**\
Use [OpenAI Ads Feed Converter](https://apify.com/kondasviktor/openai-ads-feed-converter).

# Actor input Schema

## `storeUrls` (type: `array`):

Public storefront homepage URLs to audit (one readiness report charged per URL).

## `feedUrl` (type: `string`):

Public Google Merchant XML/CSV/TSV URL to sample-check. Applied to each store in the run.

## `sampleProductUrls` (type: `array`):

Optional product detail URLs on the same domain as the store(s).

## `maxProductPages` (type: `integer`):

Cap for product page and image checks (QA prefill stays low so Store tests finish under 5 minutes).

## `checkImages` (type: `boolean`):

Fetch og:image and sample <img> URLs from homepage/product pages.

## `checkSearchBot` (type: `boolean`):

Also evaluate robots.txt for OAI-SearchBot. Ads requires OAI-AdsBot; SearchBot is recommended only.

## `requestTimeoutSecs` (type: `integer`):

HTTP timeout per URL fetch.
