## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Global New Companies (LEI) – Entities & Parent Companies

Find **entities all over the world that just received a Legal Entity Identifier (LEI)** – by country, founding date and name – straight from the official **Global LEI Index (GLEIF)**. Every row has the legal name, legal form, local registration number, legal and headquarters addresses, and the **direct and ultimate parent company** when known.

An LEI is required for trading securities, many banking and payment relationships and cross-border business. A new LEI means a company is **setting up financial relationships right now**.

No API key, no scraping, live data.

### What you get

- **~25,000 new LEIs per month worldwide**, newest first, in 200+ jurisdictions
- **Country filter** (ISO codes) and **founding-date filter** – use `foundedFrom` to get genuinely new companies (e.g. 380+ companies founded since June in Germany and France got an LEI in September 2026)
- **Parent companies**: direct and ultimate parent LEI, name and country; when the parent is not disclosed, the official reason (e.g. owned by natural persons)
- **Legal form** in readable form (ISO 20275), **local registration number** and registration authority – ready for KYB matching
- Legal address and headquarters address, LEI renewal date and corroboration level

### Typical uses

- **Financial services sales**: banks, brokers, payment and FX providers targeting companies that are just opening accounts
- **KYB / onboarding**: verify legal name, registration number and parent company from the official index
- **Group mapping**: find new subsidiaries of foreign groups entering your country (`onlyWithParent`)
- **Market entry signals**: new funds, SPVs and branches per country
- **AI agents**: call it as a tool through the Apify MCP server ("new German companies with an LEI this month and their parents")

(Fictional example showing the format.)

### Pricing

**$0.003 per entity returned** ($3 per 1,000). No start fee. You only pay for results you receive; set `maxResults` to cap your spend.

### Data notes

- **Live**: every run queries the GLEIF API, so results are as fresh as the Global LEI Index (updated several times a day).
- **LEI issue date vs. founding date**: an older company may receive its first LEI today. Use `foundedFrom` if you only want new companies.
- **No personal data**: sole proprietors are excluded, and GLEIF never discloses individuals who own a company – you only see the reason code (e.g. "Owned by natural person(s) – not disclosed").
- Up to 10,000 entities per run (to respect the GLEIF API limit); split larger pulls by country or date.

### Data sources & license

- **GLEIF – Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation**, Global LEI Index via the public LEI API. LEI data is published under **CC0 1.0** (no rights reserved).
- Legal form names: ISO 20275 Entity Legal Forms code list published by GLEIF.
- Every row includes `source` and `checkedAt`.

### FAQ

**Which countries are covered?** All countries in the Global LEI Index (200+ jurisdictions). Use 2-letter ISO codes.

**How fast is it?** Usually a few seconds; runs with `onlyWithParent` scan more records and take longer.
