## What's an Apify Actor?

An Actor is a serverless cloud program that runs on the Apify platform. It has two run modes.
In Batch mode, an Actor accepts a well-defined JSON input, performs an action which can take anything from a few seconds to a few hours,
and optionally produces a well-defined JSON output, datasets with results, or files in key-value store.
In Standby mode, an Actor provides a web server which can be used as a website, API, or an MCP server.

Apify vocabulary and the platform model are defined once, in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md.

## How to integrate an Actor?

If asked about integration, you help developers integrate Actors into their projects.
You adapt to their stack and deliver integrations that are safe, well-documented, and production-ready.

Do not guess an integration path. Every one of them is in the agent quickstart at https://apify.com/agents.md: the Apify MCP server, Agent Skills with the Apify CLI, the JavaScript and Python clients, the REST API, and the account-free path for an agent with no human to sign in. It also carries the rule on stating cost before the first paid run.

For examples already wired to this Actor's own input schema, see the [API](#api) section below.

Each client library has reference documentation the quickstart does not restate: [JavaScript/TypeScript](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/js/docs.md) (`npm install apify-client`) and [Python](https://docs.apify.com/api/client/python/docs.md) (`pip install apify-client`).

# README

## Korea Online Seller Registration Check (통신판매업 조회)

Check whether a **South Korean online seller is a registered mail-order business** (통신판매업 신고) and whether that registration is **active, suspended, closed or revoked**. Look sellers up by **business registration number** (사업자등록번호) or by the **mail-order registration number** printed in a Korean shop's footer (통신판매업 신고번호). Data comes from the Korea Fair Trade Commission's mail-order business registry (공정거래위원회 통신판매사업자 등록상세), about 2.7 million registrations, updated continuously by local governments.

**No API key or Korean account needed.** Paste numbers, get English JSON.

In Korea, any business selling online must register as a mail-order business with its local government and show the registration number on its site. A missing, closed or revoked registration is a red flag for a seller.

### Typical uses

- **Marketplaces and payment providers (PG)** — verify Korean sellers at onboarding (KYB) and re-check them regularly.
- **Brand protection and trust & safety teams** — check whether a Korean web shop's footer number is real and still active.
- **Cross-border buyers and sourcing agents** — confirm a Korean supplier is a registered online seller before paying.
- **AI agents** — "Is the Korean online shop with business number 120-88-00767 a registered mail-order seller?"

### Input

| Field | Description |
|---|---|
| `businessNumbers` | 10-digit business registration numbers, e.g. `120-88-00767` or `1208800767`. Hyphens and spaces are ignored. |
| `mailOrderNumbers` | Optional. Mail-order registration numbers, e.g. `2013-서울송파-0827`. Must match the registry exactly (spaces ignored). |

Up to 1,000 numbers per run in total.

```json
{ "businessNumbers": ["120-88-00767", "220-81-62517"], "mailOrderNumbers": ["2013-서울송파-0827"] }
```

```
| `status` | Meaning |
|---|---|
| `registered_active` | At least one mail-order registration is active (정상영업). |
| `registered_inactive` | Registered before, but no registration is active now (closed, suspended, revoked or cancelled). |
| `not_registered` | No mail-order registration on file for this number. |
| `invalid_input` | Not a valid business number (check digit failed) or not a registration number — free. |
| `lookup_failed` | The official source did not answer; retry later — free. |
Registration `status`: `active` (정상영업), `suspended` (휴업), `closed` (폐업), `revoked` (직권말소, struck off by the registrar), `cancelled` (직권취소), `other`.
`taxRegistrationStatus` is the business's National Tax Service status as copied into the registry: `active` (계속사업자), `suspended` (휴업자), `closed` (폐업자), `unknown`.
Registrations are listed active first, then newest. One business number can have several (for example after a merger or a move).
### Limitations — what is not included
- **Personal data is removed on purpose.** Representative names, representative e-mails and the change-history text (which names past representatives) are never returned. For **sole proprietors** (`entityType: individual`) the phone number, street address and postal code are also omitted; only province and registrar remain.
- **Small and foreign sellers are not covered.** Very small sellers exempt from registration (for example some marketplace-only individuals) and sellers registered outside Korea are not in the registry, so `not_registered` is a signal to look closer, not proof of fraud.
- **The two statuses can disagree.** Local governments update the mail-order status on their own schedule; a seller can show `active` here while its tax status is `closed`. Read both fields.
- **No search by name.** The registry is searched by number only. To find a Korean company's business number from its name, use [Korea Business Check](https://apify.com/kr-data/korea-business-verify).
- `websites`, sales channels and product categories are free text as filed by the seller (for example `오픈마켓` = "open market"), passed through unchanged.
### Pricing
Pay per number checked: **$0.003 per number** (`seller-check`), whether or not a registration is found — "not registered" is also an answer. Invalid inputs and failed lookups are free.
